Retrieve Listing Of Website Structure (Preferably To A List)

I'm able to create a List(Of String) containing a local directory structure of a LOCAL folder. I'm wondering how I would go about getting this structure for a website, in order to get a listing of all files of a particular type (for example: all .html files)
Something along the lines of what Xenu does would be perfect, but I don't know how to get started. I was thinking of doing something with parsing out "/" of the URL, but then you'd need to know the "deepest" file that exists on the site.. which you won't know...
Is there a way to get a folder listing of each directory of a site without having FTP access or something? (I'm assuming no due to security risks)
My only other option would be to crawl all hyperlinks within the site, and storing all the "internal" ones, but I don't know how to set up that loop, or how to know when it has reached the "deepest" level.
Kinda like when you delete a remote folder from FileZilla, it will traverse all sub-diretories first and delete those files.

I'd like my application to retrieve a list of directories, sub-directories, and files from a URL (URL has no index page). Is that possible? I've been searching, but all I can seem to find is how to list directories and such on a system drive.

I'm trying to pull data from a website but hit a snag.The website has a structure: Doc.links.Item X.innerText X is a number, 1-150.Two questions:
1) There is a space between "Item" and the number... how do I get VBA to recognize that?
2) I'm searching through the 150 entries to find the ones with useful data... how do I use a FOR loop to put that # in there. In another way, it would usually be a Item(X) index, but if the # is in the actual name.As I said, I'm novice at programming, how do I make this work?

If I execute the following statement: dim defaultDate as Date = Nothing defaultDate contains the default value of the Date structure.I suspect there is a clean way to retreive this value, like some kind of buitin constant, but i was not able to find it.What is the clean way to retrieve the default value of a given structure in VB.net ?

I need to create a VB.net app that automatically reads a html table. It should connect to a web address (eg "[URL]") and read it. I'll be happy if I could just get the full HTML. I was able to use this code to get the HTML of a regular website:

This code sample will give me the HTML for the website [URL]. However it will not work with the website I want (eg "[URL]"), because when you access it via regular browser it will popup a browser dialog asking for credentials (user / pass). So when I run the code above for it, I'll get the exception:
The remote server returned an error: (407) Proxy Authentication Required.
How do I set this up to use the credentials, before retrieving the HTML? This is actually my first web-related app.

I am adding a web interface (ASPX.NET: VB) to a data acquisition system developed with LabVIEW which outputs raw data files. These raw data files are the binary representation of a LabVIEW cluster (essentially a structure).LabVIEW provides functions to instantiate a class or structure or call a method defined in a .NET DLL file.I plan to create a DLL file containing a structure definition and a class with methods to transfer the structure.When the webpage requests data, it would call a LabVIEW executable with a filename parameter. The LabVIEW code would instantiate the structure,populate the structure from the data file, then call the method to transfer the data back to the website.

All I am trying to do is write a simple program that will let me choose a directory and get a listing of all files in that directory and its sub-directories and show it in a RichTextBox. What I have is a program that is receiving an image from my webcam 4 times each second.. What I am currently doing is just forwarding that image to a picturebox on my main form.. I do not keep the image in memory so as not to clog it up.. When you look at it seems like a video feed. Now what I want to do is to take that image every time it comes.. and put it into a video file, so as to record everything that is being seen by the camera.. Is there any way to encode a video preferably avi or mp4 video..

I am quite new at VB.NET and just need helo on sorting algorithms, prferbly the fastest (quick sort) but bubble would so. It is for sorting and array for 12 numbers, which are being enter by the user via a input box. These are then transfered onto a listbox for visual aid. so the steps involved would be: (already done)1) Enter then inputs into array via inputbox2) Input to sppear in listbox (not done)3) Sort the array ascending/decending4) print results into the listbox again.In my code there is also a total and a average, but that doesnt need any help on it. In a list(of structure), i constantly have to modifiy the property of items using this code

But this give problem when two or more of the items call this sub procedure. in that one item may already have been removed. This code is executed in the ui thread, and has to be.so is there a better way to modify the items in list structure?

I have a .txt file i want to read that has states by abbreviation and states by name. In that text file some are territories and some are states.
I want to read from that file and put the abbreviations into one structure array and the states into another structure array.
I then want to lookup up the states by abbreviation or state name. The lookup will simply be selected by a radio button which will flag either the states full name array, or the abbreviation array.

I want to manipulate the first name, last name and email via code, preferably server side. But I see this is not really how this might work, using asp hiddenfields for example.
So I have to get the values for the 3 fields server side, and somehow post this to [URL] - do I need to build the script in code and submit that? Not use this javascript?
