Mar 21, 2009I have a form with a richtextbox and a scrollbar. I want to be able to keep appending text to the textbox without loosing my selection. I can save the selectionstart and selectionlength before I append the text and set it back and it works. The problem is when it comes to reverse selecting. The best I could do is set back the selectionstart at the right position but I have to move the mouse so it selects text again. I'm using the following functions before and after I append the text:

My main goal is to be able to select and copy text even when new text is being appended to the richtextbox. Anyone knows how to correctly select text in reverse OR easily fix my problem about text being deselected?

I populate the array on Form1_Load.When I click the button btnReversingAnArray the first time all are sorted in reverse except for Wendy and it is the last item shown. ie..(The book I am even shows an image of the list Box and their example also shows Wendy as the last item)

Cannot Seem To Find A Caret Position Changed Event On The Normal Richtextbox Control?
Oct 19, 2009even Word Pad, when you scroll your Caret (the I-beam for browsing through text) through the text, in the font combobox, the font of the text you are browsing through will be displayed, and when you scroll your caret through a different font, the font will be changed. If you're confused, look at attatched picture.
I cannot seem to find a caret position changed event on the normal richtextbox control - and if anyone can show me a custom component with this it would help me a huge amount.So my basic question is how can i replicate the formentioned function in my own VB.NET program.No code is necessary just constructive suggestions, or links to other projects would be welcome. May 20, 2011I have very complicated, unnecessary code because I wrote it myself and this is a new concept to me. The code is intended to find a string in the main window's RichTextBox (the string is obviously supplied by the user). The code works fine, but due to its convoluted nature, I don't know how to implement a "Match case" function.
The form has these controls (at least the ones you use when searching for text):
Textbox: "txtFind" - User enters a search term here
Checkbox: "chkMatchCase" - Allows a user to choose whether or not to match the case of the search term
Button: "btnFind" - The Find Next button
And this is my code

The user can send data to the server succesfully but when sending back it requires port forwarding. I read a way that I would not require port forwarding by using reverse connection but I have no idea how to get it working. I found a tutorial and tried to implement but when it tries to connect to read the stream it says the connection is refused.
