Aug 5, 2011I get a warning message that reads " Variable 'cust' is used before it has been assigned a value. A null reference exception could result at run time.", but it occurs in my vb file "Northwind.vb with the following code:

A null reference exception could result at runtime.I get that warning once I commented out the streamreader line listed below. The warning shows for the line loading settings(z). The app runs but I don't like warnings in my error list.

Aug 17, 2011I am getting this error when I call a javascript function to display a modal window:
Microsoft JScript runtime error: 'document.getElementById(...)' is null or not an object
The code block is:

ShowFeatureModal('AppView','OfficeContent')
The object is this situation, does exist. Error is caused at: document.getElementById line.What else could be causing the error?
Update:Index.aspx is calling the javascript function which is located in sysUtilities.js file. The source file is yet a seperate page (ChangeView.aspx)

Which is inside a class which overrides a custom list base. The code is occassionaly throwing an unhandled exception, System.NullReferenceException, on this line when used in production:
If _PurchaseDelivery IsNot Nothing AndAlso _PurchaseDelivery.DefaultSKUBinID.HasValue Then
DeafultSKUBinID is declared as an Integer? (Nullable Int) in the PurchaseDelivery class. I cannot see what might be causing this error, why would this be returning an error?

Aug 12, 2009When I put a break point to the last if clause in the sub ("If (backOrder < 0) Then", see below) it runs until the break point, if I put the break point further below, I get the following error:
Cannot insert the value NULL into column 'OrderID', table 'WHM.dbo.OrderDetails'; column does not allow nulls. INSERT fails. The statement has been terminated.
I've discovered first hand that it only happens when prodqty is bigger then qtyOnStock, thus executing the if clause.

If I check if menudata.children isnot nothing, it always is nothing because the GetChildren function is yet to run (providing the child items, which do exist). If I remove this check and just have this code:

May 24, 2012I'm creating an app to manage the movies I've watched and get some info about these movies and then display these info in labels.At moment I'm trying to load the "runtime" and "genre" into label3 (runtime) and label5 (genre). Once the movie name is clicked in the listbox control, these info are loaded from a website (webbrowser control) and then displayed in the labels. My question is: Is there any way to make the My.Settings save these info for EACH movie? Something like this:

Basically the cases are always going to be the same but it will select the case from one of 2 places depending on whether myCookie has a value. Since there may be quite a few cases is there anyway I can get away with only listing them once.?
