VS 2008 TCP Server / Client - Client To Send The Server 4 Numbers - Depending On The User's Choice
May 9, 2009how to create a client/server... But I couldn't... I don't want anything fancy. Just want the client to send the server 4 numbers, depending on the user's choice; after that, the server would turn off the pc, restart it, etc. It all depends on the number received. Is there a rather "simple" way to do it? If it's not to much trouble you could use Atheist's example. (Btw I don't understand the code and, yes, I've checked on [URL])

Jul 15, 2009i have been working on a chat program Server side and client side i have most of the features i was asked to put in but then once i got most of the bugs out i noticed something the server admin could send whispers and alerts to single users but then when you try do do it on the client side it wont work so i looked through it all and found my issue the user list on the client is only a list of the names in server hash table so i was wondering how do i send the hashtable and all of its data E.G. user connection information to the client so that it can send commands to individual users like the server side can

TCP Communication - Send Data From The Client A Second Time
Oct 29, 2009I've been playing around with the TCP client/server sample code I found on [URL] but I can't seem to get it to function correctly. The problem I am having is that if I try to send data from the client a second time I get nothing back, not even an error that it couldn't send data. Every time I run the project it works the first time but that's it. When I was running the code line by line it seems to get to 'networkStream.Read(bytes, 0, CInt(tcpClient.ReceiveBufferSize))' and then it jumps over the rest of the routine.

TCP Send String - No Example Of A Client With A Tcp Listener Built In?
Dec 23, 2011I create a small program witch is a tcp client.I sent a asqii string to a tcp device over ethernet thads acts like a server.As soon as the device recieves the input string it will respond back with response data. The problem is i am not getting any response data back from the divice. The lenght of the string is max. 30 characters.When a use WireShark i see the reponse, but VB read nothing.I have read many threads with explenations about server/client connections but no example of a client with a tcp listener built in.I think thad the stream read is to late after the send instruction.

Apr 1, 2011An currently writing a vb.net application to send and receive information from a client via telnet. Am using System.net.Sockets to do this. I can send data great and get data back is ok. So the Problem is in the command window after I telnet in to the server application, when i press the delete key the cursor moves back a character and doesn't delete the character, just over writes it and when I read the bytes in I get the deleted character and the ascii value for the delete key and then the replacement character. I have seen another telnet application that shows the deletion of characters in the Command window.
