I need to set the sAMAccountName field along with the CN for a group I am creating. The reason is that the code I am using to check membership appears to be using the sAMAccountName to verify group membership (I infer from its operation that it is using sAMAccountName to look up the group). We are using sAMAccountName for User Id in active directory ,but the sAMAccountName active directory attribute is taking only 20 characters.So now I am trying to use "user principal name" (UPN) as a User Id in my application .what are the merit's and demerit's of using UPN in place of sAMAccountName for user Id.Also I have seen when I create the Email Id as a User ID then all the right characters along with "@" sign are saved in the domain name dropdown list. Can I use the "user principal name" (UPN) to save user ID in my application with email Id type names with this active directory functionality.

In our projects we use setting variables to store user setting for the applications. Moreover, with every latest version of the applications, we upgrade these variables to retain user settings.Normally, this works fine, but recently one of my end user reported an error i.e.Configuration System failed to initialize". The error is related to user.config file. Therefore we requested the user to send us his file.After received the folder, we noticed that it contains 3 files (3begfjb.newcfg,3begfjb.tmp and user. config). 3begfjb.tmp is an empty file, while 3begfjb.newcfg and user.config are identical files. We tried to open these files but the data in user.config isn't proper xml rather its unreadable formatted file.Do any you guys had experienced this sort of issue or any ideas how and what may have created these files and corrupted user.config file.

I can usually find the answers to most of my questions via the Google Gods, but not this time.I have a form that has a TabPageControl and on that page a collection of labels and text boxes via a usercontrol.
On the form I have a button that allows the user to create a new tabpage, when the code adds a new page, it automatically adds the UserControl collection. I can't get my head around how to access the objects on the newly created tabpage.
What I need to be able todo is take the index of the tabpage that has focus and translate that against the UerContol name, but I havn't a clue how to do it!

But the design has changed, and multiple rows can now be returned by the query. I need to now Group By the MeetingID above, and SUM each of the selected columns (i.e. s.AllRequestedDoubles).

Say I have five checkboxes in a groupbox. I want to run an if then statement where if all boxes are not checked I would perform a certain action. I currently have it set to work using code similar to this

Is it possible to reference the entire groupbox has having a false boolean property?
While doing this is managable - what if I had more check boxes?
