I want that every character that I inputted in the textbox will suddenly changed into a password character. Assume that I inputted "a" as a first character in the textbox in 3 seconds it will converted into "." character as a display in the textbox after I inputted the second character such "b" in 3 seconds also it will converted into ". character but if i read it still "ab".

The issue im having is that it just doesnt do it, no error, just no results. I have done some looking, tried different examples but no luck on this.

View 2 RepliesI'm trying to create a password change form for my company's vendors. There are a couple of scenarios I could encounter doing this:
1 - User enters invalid current password
2 - New passwords do not match
3 - User's account is locked
4 - User cannot authenticate because password is expired
It's case 4 that I'm struggling with, because their is no way for me to take the password the user entered and verify it against active directory without getting an error.
I am implementing a system where the user can Reset their password if they have forgotten it.Once it is reset I want to give them the option of changing the password so that it will be something more memorable to them.The password is hashed and if i enter in the correct old password and new password the password does change.If I enter in the wrong old password and new password the password doesnt change.Is there a way to match the old password with the old password field in code behind so I can throw up an error to the user to tell them what is wrong? I can change the PasswordChar property to an asterisk no problem and even copying and pasting symbols inserted into Word seemed to work - just couldn't find a symbol that looked like a bullet point!
Can this actually be achieved for a standalone exe, or is it something unique to web forms? Surely copying and pasting symbols from Word isn't actually the answer?
Trying to make a simple browser with some simple addon's. What Ive done is setup a menu(forum) for the user to enter their email providers web address and it will save it in a xml file. When they click on the email link, it should load the email xml iformation and place that info in the tb_html.text and navigate. I keep getting a null exception and im not sure what going on here. (non-coding request)Okay, I have my client, my server, and my map editor...a 2d online game, and yes it's written in VB.NET.I have had a lot of trouble finding anything to do with adding an animation layer something that will flash with a timer to appear as if something like fire is animated. I have a lot done so far and I kinda want to stick with VB.NET working with this.
I'm not really looking for code here, but maybe an idea of "how" an animation layer plays into a map editor and client...specifically what is needed.Running this through my head I believe I am going to need a timer on both the map editor and client, showing and hiding the animation layer...but I don't think it is that easy, and am hoping someone here has an idea of the logic of how this works. I'm almost certain that the timer doesn't go on the server to control this, but am probably wrong.

View 1 RepliesI'm trying to create an animation with 5 picture boxes (labeled picturebox0 - picturebox4) but I have a specific order I want them to display. I made 5 picture boxes, added images to them, and stack them on top of each other.
I want the order to show this: picturebox 0, 1, 4, 3, 2, 4, 2, 3, 1, 3... etc
The code I have using if-else statements which would work if I wanted to repeat the same display pattern but I need to manually right the pattern... I have at timer set to change the pictures every 2.5 seconds.

Doing the Christmas animation. I have gotten a nice HID set up to recieve data from VB6 and the computer, but I have a slight problem: I cannot seem to write what is necessary to send my data to the USB serial conversion device. I have tried send, write, open, and nothing seems to work.
Can anyone tell me what I need to do to send an 8 bit data packet to the Serial Converter so my shift register can see the data and put it in the correct output line?
I am looking for some info to do some animation. Fairly simple stuff like dealing and flipping over playing cards, tumbling dice and such. I normally work with logic and data and do not know what would be the best approach to do a good looking animation like these. View 14 RepliesI'm making this rubik's cube program, and I wanted to make a 3d animation of the cube doing the moves, and I figured the best option for that was using the XNA extension. However, doing that brings up a problem. I want to have lots of different options in the Mdi parent form that will interact with the moving 3d cube. The problem with this and using XNA is I can't use both the normal form and the XNA game in the same project. How would I go about having the 2 different projects interact? Just like a txt file or something?
