Forms :: Outlook Style Month Calendar?
May 11, 2009This is my first post. So there goes it. I have been trying to make an appointment calendar with different views ( weekly, daily, hourly, monthly) in my windows form application using VB express 2008. I have tried using a tablelayoutpanel and splitting it so each cell will correspond to a date in the monthcalendar control. My problem is how to link the two together. How to select a cell in monthcalendar and assign it to a cell in the tablelayoutpanel. I can do this when selecting a date but I would want all to be loaded when form is loaded. My end result would look similat to the calendar on this forum.

Interface And Graphics :: Creating Outlook Style Navigation User Control?
Feb 3, 2010I believe that this is in the correct forum due to it being about creating an interface item, but if I am wrong then let me know and I'll try and bring this thread to the attention of the mods to be moved to a more appropriate forum. I am currently trying to create a generic navigation control with a similar style to the outlook navigation bar. I have figured out how I would be able to dynamically create the bottom part where you select the menu option, but I'm struggling to figure out how I would be able to create the top part, which can contain any user control that the developer would want.
So basically what I'm trying to figure out is, is there a way to allow for a developer to add controls to a specific area of your user control?If there is a way of achieving that then if anyone knows how to do this;In ASP.Net you have the login controls and with one of them, you are able to have different views depending on whether the user who is viewing the web page is logged in or not. Is there a way of achieving this in VB.Net for a user control that could be set up so that I could have the developer able to switch the view in the designer to show them the view for when a specific navigation option has been selected.
The one thing that I have thought of that could possibly cause a problem is having the capability of knowing when one of the user controls has been clicked, while I haven't figured this out exactly, I believe I should be able to achieve this by having an event for the navigation user control that provides the developer a reference to the control.
While I would hope that I have explained what I'm thinking well, its before my first coffee of the morning so I might have missed out some detail which would help someone to help me if I have then please let me know and I'll provide any details required.Also if what I'm envisioning is Pie in the sky, then let me know and I'll just have to make a base which I would just have to make a more bespoke system.

May 18, 2012I am having an issue with my program that I hope you can help with. I have integrated my program to work with Outlook and I have installed the 2003 Primary Interop Assemblies on the client computer and it works fine (i.e. opens Outlook Email and attaches a file from my program). Well, we have many computers here that run Office 2007, so I installed the 2007 PIA on their computer and it doesnt work. It doesnt tell you anything in the error when the update download fails, just "You need to contact your system administrator". Is there anything else I need to do to get it to work with computers running Office 2007 - any references I need to add, or properties needing changed?
I know the isnt any issue with the server, connectivity, or anything like that because it works just fine on computers without Office 2007.

May 8, 2012I am using VB.Net (.Net 4) and Outlook 2007 (Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook) to send mass emails to clients on a monthly basis and the text is pre-defined into a HTML file which is parsed.Since there are chances of errors, we are putting it as outlook templates. But we need to put some special tags in the body, for which I want to put a button in the main ribbon of the "MailItem" object (see attached image).I have managed to put the buttons in the "add-ins" menu but I want it right there in the front area.

Mar 3, 2011I am using Access 2007 as an automation server for a custom form in Outlook 2007. I am trying to use the records in an Access table as a rowsource for a Outlook combobox. I have been debugging it quite a bit; I can tell that I successfully grab a recordset and can tell that they are the correct values. The only problem is when I try to add an item to my combobox (cboCategory).I checked the properties of the additem function and it expects a variant, so that's what I give it. However at runtime, it gives me a type mismatch error.

Nos, i've got .NET 4 installed, and i've added the system.tsr and mscorlib.dll files as reference in, say, Excel 2007 (see screenshot).However, when i try to make a thread with anything as basic as "Dim Thread1 As System.Threading.Thread", i get a user-defined type not found error.Indeed, when i use the object browser to see what's in the System file, theres nothing remotely linked to any Threading, and in the mscorlib file, nothing under "Threading" either, just a few Thread related functions, but nothing defining a data type
StatusStrip And MenuBar "Chromed" Like Outlook 2007
