I want to use images for my program that I believe are stored somewhere on my computer but I don't know where. I want something like how all excel files show the excel icon and all word files show the word icon etc.

I then use backgroundworkers to check the images against others stored in the program. My issue is, the backgroundworkers do not properly check the images against the ones I have stored in the program.Could this be because the images and picturebox are stored on the main thread, and no in a background worker?In other words, I am taking picture from my webbrowser and putting them in my picturebox. Then, I am comparing them with images already in the images. The only problem is, the workers are unable to properly compare the images.

I created a hangman game and It works well when I debug, but when I publish and place it on my son computer, when you guess a letter wrong it shows an error and says it can't find the images. I just it is something that I'm doing wrong but I don't know what. Some of the thing that I have tried is including the images in resources. I believe that it has something to do with the startup path, the path that the images are looking for does not exist. The installer installs the program in the programs file

Need to design a program that can encrypt and decrypt messages stored in simple text files using a private key stored in a separate file. i have a task to create a TCP Server (a program that is listening on its network card interfaces for incoming data stream).I have search on the internet and i found that i can use two methods : Socket or TCPListener class.I have created an example for Socket class, but i wondering how could i test it? I need to check that if another computer in the network send some string data to the listener computer , then this message should be displayed.Here is the example from microsoft that i am using for TCP Server using Socket:

I am developing a computer application designed to monitor the network and CPU statistics on a computer remotely. The monitored computer would have my program installed and the monitoring computer would display, in a form, the information being sent from the remote client.The application does not send any information regarding packets, user names, passwords, etc. It is solely meant for monitoring CPU performance and Network resources remotely.
What would be the best method to send this information over to my host machine?I am programing in Visual Studio 2008 on windows XP. The client machine is also XP. I know this sounds a little shady, but it is required for my little business (http://www.iquorum.net) to monitor what and when something happens on our machines when I and my employees are away.

It has to deal with LOTS of images (100's potentially) There will be the set of default images, and then the user created replacement images. I started loading all the defaults into a resx file... thinking then I could just pull them out. now that I started setting the default, this sucks! lol the app will do this, on load it will set all the images (variables) to the resx images then when a theme is loaded, it will replace the default with the user image (if the user img exists) otherwise, the default stays. I was thinking to make an app to save images [or download images] to local hard disk. But to keep it easy, I want this app to create a small picturebox on form to show the thumbnail of downloaded image. Lets say a 5 pictureboxes has to be added with the thumbnails to show the recent downloads. A user can save the location where he wants to save the files on hard disk. A listbox or a dropdown menu will help in categorizing the images, like image1 in friends section, image2 in family section, image3 in others, etc... When the program restarts all the latest 5 thumbnails has to be loaded in pictureboxes and the directory that was chosen. Finally, a button that shows the downloaded images into original image file size one by one or a slide show. Is it possible to make such program?
