Using Mouseposition To Position A Pre-defined Shape?
Sep 14, 2009
add a brush/shape to a picture box. I have a few buttons; one will create a fille rectangle and another one will create a pen shape rectangle on a given point cooridnate. the code goes something like this:
Using abrush As New SolidBrush(ColorDialog1.Color), formGraphics As Graphics = PictureBox1.CreateGraphics()
formGraphics.FillRectangle(abrush, New Rectangle(ToolStripTextBox1.Text, ToolStripTextBox2.Text, ToolStripTextBox3.Text, ToolStripTextBox4.Text))
End Using
this is an example of the code that works perfectly well. but what I want it to do is instead of the user having to input coordinates, I want it so that you click on the button (any of em) and then be able to use the mouseposition.x & y to draw the shape (so if you enter the picture box container and then you click on it it will draw the shape from the point where the mouse cursor is..)
Operator '+' is not defined for types '1-dimensional array of Byte' and 'Byte'.How would I change the assignment statement in the code below so that each indexed byte position gets assigned the converted integer value in the for loop?
Dim byteArray As Byte() Property Data_Out() As Integer() Get[code].....
What I'm trying to do is to get the X and Y position of mouse but not starting from the screen upper left corner but the stage's upper left corner. Right now all I got is: mouseCoordsLabel.Text = ("X: " & MousePosition.X - Me.Location.X & " Y: " & MousePosition.Y - Me.Location.Y) But it gets the upper left corner of form, not stage. Is there any way I could get the width and height of the borders that the form uses?
I am trying to redirect command line output to a list box in a vba macro, and I've found some code that I think might point me in the right direction, but I keep on getting the same error. When I use this code [code]It gives me the error in the title and highlights the first declaration line. What does it take to define a new "process".
I have looking for a tutorial or class that demonstrates more than a trivial example of saving a windows position on closing. The ones I have found don't seem to work on all systems because of:
1. Multiple monitors. (and resolution between those monitors)
2. Toolbar size and position (toolbar is only on the primary monitor, well sometimes)
3. Sometimes the programs dont open on the right monitor they were closed on.
Is there an extensive class or tutorial on all the stuff a programmer needs to get right to have a window size and position persisted between executions?
I am using the following code to populate data in Textbox1:
[Code]...
I have few functions assigned in TextBox1_TextChanged event. The problem i am facing is this event is fired twice, once after the Fill command and another after the Position command whereas i want the event to fire only once after the Position command. What should i do?
I also have a function that returns ALL tiles on the map and they're X, Y position. How could I find out which one is closest to the position I specify? I can't figure out how to go about it. how to implement it with this. Heres a MADE UP example if what I'm trying to do:
Dim MyPosition as New Position() MyPosition.X = 400 MyPosition.Y = 400 Dim tList as New List(Of Tile) = MyMap.GetTiles
Now, I can already do the stuff above, but what I need to make is something like this:
1-When I click on the ''Square'' radio button I want the shape to appear in the image box, then need I only need 1 text box to appear where the 4 side boxes are, this will be where I enter the value of the sides to calculate the perimeter and I also want the area and perimeter boxes to appear at the bottom since I don''t need the volume text box.
I have a project(solution) which aims to lance a Form from a lancer module. On my Form Design the buttons are nice and round. When I go to Run the solution and the the Form is set as startup project, all is OK but when lancer module is set as startup project all buttons change to hard rectangular shapes and rounded corners dissapear (see attachments).
how do you correctly dispose a shape in vb.net ie when you draw a rectangle using the pen function how do I depose it so that it will disappear from the form, for some reason once its drawn if I draw a new shape it keeps the previous one and just overlays the new one and I use shape.dispose, and pen.dispose?
I am using VB 2008 for this little first game I am trying to make. Currently a grid of rectangles is being generated when a button is pressed and when you click on the grid I am attempting to import the relevant image into the selected rectangle. Looking through the available options I can't find anything relevant to import the image onto that selected rectangle. Is there another method of importing onto a code generated grid? my current relevant code is: brackets, its my first time here.)
If Form1.MousePosition.X < rect.Location.X + rect.Width And Form1.MousePosition.X > rect.Location.X And Form1.MousePosition.Y < rect.Location.Y + rect.Height And Form1.MousePosition.Y > rect.Location.Y Then
I am working through my Visual Basic Book 2010 book and came across this Program example:Create 3 classes that inherit from a base class named Shape. The Shape class has an instance variable that is the name of the shape and also a CalcArea() function that must be overridden by each subclass. You will need to create the following 3 classes and use the formulas provided to calculate the areas.
Square Area = sideLength * sideLength Circle Area = pi * radius * radius (use Math.Pi for the value of pi) Triangle Area = * base * height
Each subclass should have a constructor that you use to set the name and the attributes required to calculate the area with. Each subclass should also override the CalcArea() function that is provided in the base class Shape. They will also need to implement the toString() method that will print out the shape name, any attributes (ex: sideLength), and the area.It also includes the Shape base class. You will need to add the 3 subclasses and add the appropriate code.
i'm working on a simple 2d drawing application that allows you to draw, move, rotate and resize shapes such as lines, rectangles, ellipses, polygons and so on. My code for resizing shapes works fine, but only for unrotated shapes. Now i've changed the code to work also with rotation but i have still some problems, for example:
I create a rectangle at a specified location (the upper-left corner of the rectangle) and with a rotation around the location. With my code i can only to resize this shape using the top-left, the middle-right, the bottom-right and the bottom-center hot spots. The problem is when i try to resize the rectangle using the middle left hot spot or the other ones. As you can see in this images the problem is to calculate the new location that the rectangle should have after the resize operation.
I am trying to create a legend for some colors and thought of adding rectangleshpes to do so. However, I do not seam to be able to set the fill color of the shape.
i am trying to read an existing excel 2007 file from vb.net i used a form with single button and i written code in button click event code is :[code...]
I have two forms: Main and Options.Main can be moved around the screen (like a normal window). When the user clicks a button, the Options form opens up and the Main form HIDES.How do I set the Options form to open in the exact place that the Main form was last on the screen (to give it the effect the MAIN form never went into hidding)I was thinking to set Option form's StartPosition to Main's current position, but I don't know the syntax for that or if it's even something you can do.
