Using Sound Like (MP3) In 2008 Applications?

I added a file with a format MP3 into a vb.net 2008 application and it was working and playing prefect, but after I deployed it and installed it onto the same machine (laptop), the file MP3 didn't play? Just there is no sound after installed the application. There is no error message appear. I have used this code to get the path:

I have background sound loop with the My.Computer.Audio and it works fine. I want to play another sound (like a beep) when desired without stopping the background sound. Several examples I have found don't seem to work. I am in VB.NET 2008 Professional.

I'm ready to start adding sound to a 3D game and I'm looking for a decent Free library.it would not require DX and be something like:

I'm creating an application that will have 3 streams of audio. I can get 2 streams playing easy enough using DirectX AudioVideoPlayback and setting the balance for each Audio Instance. However, I need a 3rd Audio instance to play out of another output such as the Rear or Centre. An alternative would be to be able to select a different sound device in the machine to play the 3rd audio stream.

I need to get the decibel level of sound being sent to the sound card (not the actual sound level the speakers are instructed to emit via volume level)There is next to no information i can find on the net to even access sound data. Would anyone oppose to me posting this same thread on other forums?I will of course post a solution if one is found elsewhere without advertising external websites.

Is there a way to generate a pure tone (e.g. 440 Hz) for a specified period of time through the sound card without using having to find or make a separate .wav file for each tone.I tried using the "Beep" function, but while it produces the tone for a specified period, it sounds broken up into a (probably 500ms) time frame which repeats with an audible space between the repetitions.

I need a way of recording any sound that is played through the computer so say if the user was open up windows media player and play a song then he could click record on my application and it would capture whatever is being played. After that there would also need to be a save button so the can click save and the user can save the file as a .wav or .mp3 or whatever!

Is there a way one can edit sound, say for example you have an mp3 sound it is 12sec long, but you want to fit it into 10sec. is there a way one can write a code that automatically adjust the sound so that it only play faster and save it as mp3 again? I am trying to write a countdown timer I finally succeeded with MSDN. I get to work whatever I wanted, but this drives me nuts: How can I read and set the volume control? I want, once my timer is run down to zero, read out the current system setting, then play a system sound using
Media.SystemSounds.Exclamation.Play()
Over time I like to ramp up the volume to 80% or until one clicks the Alarm off button (then stop the timer, no sound, and reset volume).

Do you know the little graph which the Windows 98/XP sound recorder used to show? It used to show the pitch and volume of the sound which was being recorded. Like I want to get the data from that.
Basically, I will start experimenting this stuff by showing the volume of the sound entering the microphone in a label. And maybe the pitch too.

I need to communicate between multiple applications (one server and multiple clients) in the LAN. While googling I came across 3 concepts (TCP/IP, Named Pipes and WCF). I also understand WCF needs lot of study for a starter like me. I need to have one (server) application running on one machine, the values generated by it should be displayed immediately on the other (client) application which will be running on multiple machines in a LAN. Also when the user pauses the process from the client application, it should pause the process on the server application.
