i'm looking for a solution in automating the following which we are currently doing manually each day:We are getting mails overnight from different clients with different subjects. lets call the subjects 'succes' and 'failed' for now.All we do is ad a new column ech day in an excel sheet, and set cells to green (succes) and red (failed). Each client has a row.I want to automate this process by VBA, as I think it's the best solution. The VBA should read the mail in a folder, and look at the subject and from address.
I need a feedback form for my site.i need the user to write there.
Mail Title Info
And then when they press send then i get a mail to my hidden mail and a confirmation is send to the user mail.I have google the web but cant find any good info about this, i know how to make the form but how do i make the codebehind !?
Do any of u pro. have a link to a great tutorial or have a code that can be used !?
I am reading an Excel file into VB.NET. There are 4 columns containing dollar figures of varying amounts. Here is what I need to do is identify the columns with the highest $ figure, the next highest, etc. and mark them so that .NET can identify them (e.g. col3 is highest so rank1 variable is "col3" and so on).So I am dealing with Excel Ojects which is new to me and sorting which is new to me. If it helps, here is how I am reading in the Excel file:
xlsWorkBook = xlsApp.Workbooks.Open(folders(f).ToString & "" & fileInFolder.ToString) xlsWorkSheet = xlsWorkBook.Worksheets("Sheet1") Dim ColumnNumber As Integer = xlsWorkSheet.Cells(1, StartColumn).Column
I am using VB.Net 2008 on Windows XP, and I am trying to sort a Worksheet in Excel. My code is as follows:
Public Sub SortLateDeliveries() Dim intCounterA As Integer Dim intCounterB As Integer
[Code]....
I have tried both of the sort codes indicated (one is commented out), and I have searched the internet and have found that other people appear to be using one or other of the codes listed and it works for them!
I've got a Word doc with insertion fields already created and an Excel spreadsheet with the data for a mail-merge.Does anyone have a code snippet for merging the two into a Word form-letter in VB.net?
I am using VB.net.I am importing a text file into Excel. Then I want to select everything and sort it based on a cell (A) in this case. So here is what I have so far.
It works but the problem is the direction that the sort is happening. Everything is being sorted horizontally. I want to Sort it by the selected Column.
I fought through a good amount of this and have gotten to the point where I can sort my arrays. What I need to do now is take the following code and sort the elements in descending order instead of ascending order. I don't know how to do that with the two arguments in the code:
Dim Cols(3) As Int16 Cols(0) = ColumnNumber + 1 Cols(1) = ColumnNumber + 2 Cols(2) = ColumnNumber + 3
I have AutoFilter in place in my sheet. I want to sort data using the AutoFilter itself and not by normal sort. I want the client to see the down arrow on the autofilter button, which tells that rows are sorted on this key.
I have 'sheet' as an object :
sheet.Range("A2").AutoFilter then Or something else ??(Ensure the syntax for VB.Net and not VB Script)
I have a spreadsheet that contains details of change requests; one row per request. This information needs to be copied into a Word form for sending off to our customer who then completes the response section. To speed up this process I have written some code that utilises the mail merge feature of Word and merges the relevant info from the spreadsheet into a Word form. This runs from Excel when a button is pressed. The problem comes when I go to save the workbook and exit Excel; it stays running in the background as a process in task manager.

I'm fairly sure it has something to do with the merge code itself but my knowledge of VB is enough to grasp what is happening but not why it is happening. If I open the Word doc that has the merge fields in it, then open the spreadsheet that houses the info Excel says the workbook is already open.
This seems like is should be simple but for the life of me I can't seem to get it. I am using VB.net.I am importing a text file into Excel. Then I want to select everything and sort it based on a cell (A) in this case. So here is what I have so far.
In the following code all goes well until the .Sort line. Then I get an error which says, "The sort method is not valid. Make sure it is within the data you want to sort and the first sort by box isn't the same or blank."I've tried various permutations to deal with this exception, all to no avail. The Range is Selected ok and the Excel data are pasted from the clip board ok. Then I get the error and no sort occurs.
how i can write a realy basic e-mail program. all the program will need to do is recieve mails show the mail in a tekstbox and the subject in an other text box.or if you can tell me how i can let vb read things on my screen...
I have a piece of code which sends email with an attachment from my application. The code uses MAPI to send the email. It opens up a new email message so the user can add to the email message, and then the user clicks send. The code works fine. However there is one small problem. The email that the code opens, is always in Microsoft Outlook. Sometimes the application's user has Outlook Express set up as the default client, but my application always opens the new email message in Microsoft Outlook. (Outlook 2003. In the one user's machine that has Outlook 2007, everything works fine and the email opens up in Outlook Express.)As I searched for a solution, I saw this problem posed many times in various places on the Internet, with no solution (or none that worked). I did try several suggestions which involved creating registry settings and registering some dlls.
I am teaching myself vb.net and wanted to change this code to have an embedded mail.boby from a text file instead of the file attachment. Code spippet below and where I need help is mail.Body = ("tracertALL.txt") that just puts the name of the file NOT the contents of the file. This code is a CMDWrapper that runs a batch file and I want the contents of a trace route that is pipe to a file >> tracertALL.txt .
I'm trying to update some older software which uses the now-declared-obsolete System.Web.Mail classes.Unfortunately, I don't really know a heck of a lot about email, so I'm looking for advice.
Here is the fragment of code I'm looking at revising:
[Code]...
From what I can tell, this should be configuring some kind of sending option. I can kind of work out what's going on, but I don't know how I should go about re-implementing it.It's looking like the place to be putting this stuff is now in the System.Net.Mail.SmtpClient.Credentials class, but the information in there doesn't seem to bear any resemblance to what I have here.I'm almost certain I'm making some obvious error, here, but I can't see it. Can someone tell me what I should be doing?
I'm teaching myself vb.net and found this VB.NET SMTP codeand I wanted to add a mail.cc and mail.bcc but get an error Property cc is ReadOnly.and don't know how to fix. then I found this code
Dim CC As MailAddress = New MailAddress(TextBox5.Text) 'For some reason it's required field mail.CC.Add(CC)
MVC3, VB.NET. I have a function in my app that is supposed to use a html file's contents for the email body. However what I have so far is failing at the mail.body = file.readalltext(_body) line..
this code was not done by me originally and there are some thigns here i dont quite understand i have altered it a bit from my coworkers code to suit my data and it works. but too slow. and when i have 4000+kb excel files it might freeze altogether. ( I have checked tho that when and after this transposer runs it will still be within the excel row limit, i had done calculations before and made a macro to automatically split excel files based on number of columns and rows to make sure this is so ). This code seems to start out fast then goes slower the longer it runs. at least this is what it seems liek to me.
I have a controller board that is built by us that sends strings to the serial port based on inputs that it receives. The app we are working on seems to be receiving the data fine but it is displaying it in an odd way and I'm sure it is a simple problem I am overlooking. Here is the incoming code so far:
Private Sub SecuritySerialPort_DataReceived(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.IO.Ports.SerialDataReceivedEventArgs) Handles SecuritySerialPort.DataReceived ReceivedText(SecuritySerialPort.ReadExisting()) 'Automatically called every time a data
I have a MyObject; myObjects as List(Of MyObject) and a delegate Comparison(Of MyObject) that uses a lot of comparison functions (ByA, ByB, ByC etc) Ã la:
Shared Function CompareMyObjectsByName(x As MyObject, y As MyObject) As Integer Return x.Name.CompareTo(y.Name) End Function
I am receiving RS-232 data from serialPort1.Readbyte and want to display the incoming data on a textbox on a form. This causes a "...cross thread..." error.
