Jun 2, 2010i need to create an application(VB.net or VBA) which will convert text file contents into excel. u the contents fromt he text file have delimiters(special characters).The condition is while converting it should remove all the delimiters and paste teh content between two delimiters in to one cell.For Eg:

Excel sheet content:

How To Add Recent File History (Last 3) To Main Menu
Mar 11, 2011How to add a file history to my Main Menu. I open my windows application and select a txt file to open called "File 1". Later I open "File 2" and "File 3". I have now closed the windows application. A day later I open my windows application again. How do I view the recent files selected to my FILE menu? For example, I would expect to see "File 1", "File 2", and "File 3" under recent files. This would allow the user to easily reference the past recent files that were opened. Word and Excel have the feature and I am sure it can be done in VS2005.

I keep getting an error stating that Excel.Application is not defined and I also get Option Strict On requires all vairable declarations to have an 'AS' clause. Can someone point me into the right direction?
Javascript - __doPostBack Not Working In Safari Or Firefox, Works In IE
Jun 19, 2012in my asp.net application, two buttons call a javascript function called refreshView, below is the function refreshView.

In IE, this is working correctly, but in firefox and safari the page refreshes (due to the window.parent.location) - but never calls the doPostBack (i was able to tell this using tracepoint and the sub that is called stores values to the database, the values are not being stored as well, sub is never hit). Below is the first line of the sub.

Can anyone see why this would not work? I figured I could always replace the doPostBack with pageMethods and create a new sub/function - but I'd like to complete this the way it currently is.

Jul 18, 2011I want to clear the history in an open file dialog, so that previous opened files won't be shown if a user clicks on the drop down arrow behind "File name". I have created an open file dialog and named it "ofd_openen".
Then I 've tried:
ofd_Openen.SafeFileNames = False
and also
ofd_Openen.FileNames.Clear()
but that doesn't work.

This is not working. I tried to debug it, but in debug mode the cursor only steps through the code behind. I'm not able to enter the javascript login() function on the aspx page.

VS 2005 Use & In String Won't Convert
Jan 27, 2011For a labels text I need to use the & symbol in the text, so I did this:
Const symbol As Char = Chr(38) and I am using like this:
Me.Label1.Text = "Welcome to A " & symbol & " R Storage Management Systems" I am looking for this because it is how the business name is spelled: A & R Storage
any other Char symbol I use in place of 38 will display the Char, but not the ampersand, it leaves a blank spot. Any advice. And yes I know the & is used to concatenate string variables, but I should be able to use it as a Char.
