I just want to make sure if the UDP sent was received successfully, what could be some methods to do such? Its just for chatting on a local network.
View 14 RepliesI have a web service with both SOAP and REST endpoints. I have to accept requests from a client that I do not have any control over on my REST endpoint. Currently the client gets a 400 response and the tracelog on my server shows this error:
The incoming message has an unexpected message format 'Raw'.
The expected message formats for the operation are 'Xml', 'Json'.
I've tried everything I can think of with the WebContentTypeMapper but seem to end up right where I started every time. The request from the client doesn't appear to be well formed XML or JSON so if I try to force XML or JSON types from the WebContentTypeMapper I end up with parser errors.
So I guess I need to find out if I can force this endpoint to accept the message anyway.

View 2 RepliesSince it will be run by the user I don't want the user to have to do anything but send the IT department the log file it creates.
What I want to do is see if a folder on the network can be opened successfully. I do not want to ping it, but actually open it and see if it loads. I can do this for a website by retrieving the http status code, but I can't find any references to something similar for explorer.exe. Here is a basic flowchart of this part of the program:
ping server --yes--> access \server_namefolder
--no--> access \server_IPfolder
--no--> Authentication Issue
--yes--> DNS Issue
Note also that just checking authentication won't work because it could also be a DNS problem. I guess I could check them both, but I would rather do it this way if possible (and I don't know how to go about checking either one)
I am uploading an excel data to display in a datagridview and when i click on an update button it updates the database.but I want a code that will look up a column and get a value then display in a message box like "Data uploaded successfully for @ChurchID"where @Churchid is a column in the excel sheet but the id is the same but unique for every excel sheet upload If the upload is not successfull then it should give a failed message for that @churchID

I have an application, for sending SMS to mobile phones, using a GSM modem and AT commands. It works perfectly, except in one point. If the modem have some problem, for example doesn't have network, or even doesn't have a SIM card, I dont know if the message was sent or not. How can I test if the message was sucefully sent?

When I have two cards match in my program, a message box will pop out and say "match". If the message box does appear, how can I then get a "1" to then be added to a text box within the program? I would like to have the points accumulate for each "match" message box that appears.
I can't get the host/server to display messages from the client.It receives the messages but when I try and get it to put it into a listbox it says it's added it but is doesn't add anything.
View 17 RepliesI have a form, that acts like a drop-down, that I display non-modal. I attach a mouse hook to the form to determine when the mouse is clicked out of it, so that I know to close it - by setting Visible = False.
Because I want the HookProc to handle the last click, I can't dispose the Hook or my Dropdown until I'm sure that my event handler has returned to the HookProc.[code]...
I'm trying to get the remote endpoint when receiving data over UDP. But it seems to not be working. I know that when sending UDP, the remote ip and port are part of the packet, but I don't know how to get that information with .net.
Updates.client.remoteendpoint.tostring does not work.

I'm trying to use Adobe's command line parameters to launch a PDF file with a user's search term passed in automatically. Unfortunately, Adobe's syntax for this command requires me to start Acrobat.exe (or AcroRdr32.exe) and pass in parameters, including the PDF file name.I have users that might have any version of Adobe Acrobat from 5.0 up, or they might be using Adobe Reader version 5.0 and up. I know when I double-click a PDF file, Windows has an association with that file that points to wherever Acrobat.exe (etc...) is installed to launch the program. How can I get access to that information?I've looked in the registry at"HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT.pdf", but don't see much in there that would lead me to "c:Program FilesAdobeAcrobat 8.0Acrobat.exe" or wherever the program is installed. View 2 RepliesI need to process a text file created by a Streamwriter. I have the Streamwriter object but the file location is determined by the user. The problem is, I need to process *the file* not the contents-so I need the location.
Steamwriter doesn't seem to have a Location or File property. Or am I just missing it? How can I tell what file a Streamwriter object is writing to?
I have a form with several databound controls. Certain users will be able to change the data in these fields. Is there a way to check whether the data in any databound control has changed? I would like to do this so that I can enable an UPDATE button and flag a warning to the user that they must save their changes.

I'm working on code that will take an initial copy of your processes list, and then based on a timer, continue to take copies, which will compared to the initial processes list to determine which processes have been opened or closed until the timer ends. I'm capturing the processes list's in an Array list.

I am trying to publish a .Net application but I received the error; - Cannot publish because a project failed to build - SignTool reported an error 'The Path is not of a legal form' On the Signing tab I have teh error; An error occurred trying to load the page. The path is not of a lagal form. The same project I published few minutes ago, I was trying to re-publish it. It only affects me, but if another of my colleague opens it on his PC from the same source it works fine. I checked the certificate and it is present.
