VS 2005 - Loop Through Results In Textbox (Removing The Last)
Apr 9, 2009
Private Sub CopySelectedNodes(ByVal nodes As TreeNodeCollection)
For Each node As TreeNode In nodes
If node.Checked Then
'MessageBox.Show(node.FullPath)
Me.CopySelectedNodes(node.Nodes)
[Code] .....
This does not work, I want to loop through results so the textbox1 will be like 151,154,3,151, and I want to remove the last.
As some of you are aware of, I am fairly new to VB.NET. I am trying to learn as much as I can. I have a textbox which is set to multiline. It's setup to accept a maximum of 500 characters (10 lines of 50). First of all, since it's size is fixed, how can I remove the right bar on the left as im not using it (the scrolling bar).
#2, once a user click on a button, I disable the textbox and display the text. I can set the background color, however it looks like when the textbox is disabled, text is gray and can't be changed. A fix I found is to use a label and hide the textbox, but are there any easier way ?
I have this little application that runs a SQL query works great, now I want to have a Start Button run the and display results then System.Threading.Thread.Sleep(300 * 1000) for 5 min then run again and display results and loop till I buttonstop_click. unsure if the sleep is the best method.
I have a checkListBox with items. I want a textbox to contain the items were checked. How can I go about removing it from a textbox if they user unchecks the item?
Private Sub frdList_ItemCheck(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.ItemCheckEventArgs) Handles frdList.ItemCheck Dim item As String = frdList.SelectedItem[code].....
I've got some code to try and loop through LINQ results, but it doesn't seem to be working.
HERE'S THE CODE
Public Sub ProcessRequest(ByVal context As System.Web.HttpContext) Implements System.Web.IHttpHandler.ProcessRequest ''# the page contenttype is plain text'
I can't think of a better way to do this, what i have is this function:
vb.net Function functionDealWithHiddenFields(ByVal HTML As String, ByVal numHiddenFields As Integer)
[Code].....
which usually contains: 4 so when i loop out the names, it loops the 4 results, 4 times, instead of just showing me the names 4 times so i can then store them
I am trying to creat a program to automate many of the things I do when I build a computer. I was attempting to do this via batch files but got stuck when I needed to search the registry for cetain keys and delete the parrent folder in which it resides in.
For instance: Installing a MS Loop Back Adapter I found a utility that works at the command promt called DEVCON that will allow me to install a MS Loop Back Adapter. I was doing this through a batch file but found that I can call the utility through VB and get the same result (of course I still need to have the DEVCON.exe)
I have a listbox displaying sql results in a loop. Let's say I want to select one of those results and click a delete button. I have the button and box setup displaying the results just fine, I just do not have the functionality. How would I do that?
I have a database I am creating with about 50 users over a network. There are about 6 groups of users and these users are spread across 10 branches. I want to block/allow users from particular forms and views. For example I want branch users forms to be filtered by their branch number but depending on the group they are in they can only see some forms. i.e. 50 users, 10 branches, each branch has about 5 ppl of where 1 is in group A and 4 are in group B. I want all users that belong to branch 1 to see the information they enter, but Group B enter data but cannot approved or delete, and group A can enter, approve and delete. So then. On my login form I have the user type his/her username but the i want LEAVE function to update 2 textbox where I have named GroupName and BranchNo. Basically to run a query and look for the username and return in one textbox that user's groupname and the other textbox the user's branch no. This information will be used to filter forms and block the user from certain controls. This is the code I have so far but still can't figure how to display the results.
Private Sub UsernameTextBox_Leave(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles UsernameTextBox.Leave 'Make Connection to database
[Code].....
It keeps highlighting the BranchNumber and UserGroup and giving error "Value of type 'String' cannot be converted to System.Data.OledbCommand
I have a data table that has thousands of entries. The table has employee production information: YearMonth, Employee ID, Pages worked and Jobtypes (e,k,o and r). I need to calculate a sum of each jobtype and a sum of pages worked for each jobtype, for each individual employee. I am pulling this data from an Access database and so unfortunately I am unable to use LINQ.[code]...
I'm trying to find a way where i can make it loop through the results of my capture group regex query.
For instance if i have this:
VB.NET Dim matches = Regex.Matches("<h1><span>test</span></h1>", "(?<=<h1>(<span>)?)(?<data>.+)(?=(</span>)?</h1>)")For Each item In matches.OfType(Of Match)()Console.WriteLine(item.Value)Next
And i'm trying to get the contents of <data>, how do i do it without it printing out the junk before it and after it?
quantifier isn't working, its supposed to make the <span> tag optional in the query, but it isn't.
I'm making a program when the user clicks the button it displays the number of rolls it took to get snake eyes ( 1 on each dice) I have randomized it and in the Do loop it calculates until it gets the right code. I just need some help with the code that will display in a listbox the results that didn't get picked for snake eyes.
I use a button to locate a file, and it puts the location in the textbox as "C:file.exe"I need the "" so when a user select a folder with a space in it it wont see it as a new input.[code]But later i need the same location of the textbox but without the "" (Chr(34))charachters.How can i make it so it removes those characters out of the textbox?
I wrote a palindrome earlier for a project which I figured out but I talked to a friend in another class and he was having issues with how to take out the punctuation. I dont think it was required on mine but I am just currious how that could be done using commands such as str.lenght, or str.trim those basic commands. Here is my last post that is related
I am writing an app that writes notes, inserted by the user, to a txt file. The app saves that notes to a txt file, and when opening it reads the file and shows the already inserted notes. However, I want the user to be able to delete some of those notes...but I can't seem to do it...this is what I have:
VB Dim file As New FileStream(data_path & "notes.txt", FileMode.Open) Dim text As String = Nothing Dim reader As New StreamReader(file)
[Code]....
It goes fine, but the text.Replace(value, "") line doesn't seem to work. I've also tried text.Remove(0) but it doesn't removes the line...it looks like it has no effect.
What I am trying to do is remove lines of a multiline TextBox based on certain criteria, such as the number of characters or words. For example, if I paste a list of phrases into the TextBox, I want to remove all phrases that contain more than 25 characters. Once the phrases are removed, I then want to remove the empty lines that are left behind, but I have commented out the ".Replace(vbCrLf & vbCrLf, vbCrLf)" for the sake of making the results easier to follow (see screenshot from Excel below, which includes a blank cell wherever a phrase has been removed).
Here is my
Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click Dim lines() As String = TextBox1.Text.Split(vbCrLf)
[Code]....
Why is it not "blanking" the entire line in ALL cases where the line contains more than 25 characters?
I have strMyString that contains about 5000 lines of data. There are some lines of data that need removing if they contain a certain string, such as "http", "www.", ".com", "cat", "fish", etc. The whole line needs removing. Each line is separated by a vbNewLine or similar.
How can I do that? Does it need pasting into a rich textbox first before processing?
I have a big windows forms project I'm working on. This project has 3 pictures included as resource. I had 3 pictures of each 5mb, which resulted in a .exe file of 17mb. This had to be adressed, because thats a bit to much, so I downsized the pictures to about 100kb each. I've removed the big pictures, and inserted the new ones. But when I compile the project, the .exe file still is 17mb, and it won't get any smaller. I've tried to 'Clean Solution',
I am using a collection to store data from a text file which I am letting the user load and I am using the .split to split and sort the data into alphabetical order and remove repeating words. However, I am having a problem removing unwanted characters from the final array. For Example, "This is the text file that I want sorted. It is random text not yet sorted"
