I want to stall next line execution by x minutes.The line runs a batch file that explodes a ZIP file and it takes awhile. I want to stall before I continue on with the next line of code because I'll be using the files being unzipped. Best method to use?

I would like to do the same thing in .net using WMI, and I tried to do this on my own, but my code is not working properly. If I specify my logon credentials, the process will execute on the remote machine and the code works fine, but I want the program to send the WMI query by using impersonation. I have a bunch of rectangles simulating players for a football game I'm designing. I want to find out how many "players" are in between two points on the field. I have a start point (a defender trying to locate the ball carrier) and endpoint (the ball carrier). I need the number of other players in between those two points (I have all of their coordinates as well). The more traffic in the defender's field of vision the harder it will be to find the ball.

I'm currently in the middle of a Console Application. I have done everything and it's ready to be handed in. However, I don't want to hand it in like this. I want to build upon it.
One of the ways I'd like to build upon this is with an e-mailing system. I'm find it hard to include the e-mail code in to the project and would like to request assistance. but in the text file it will add "" before & after my name.
So the question is
1. How to add space between name & "ishtiak"? like this = name "ishtiak"

I'm testing a small program that can read & write to an rtf file. Examples I have found work fine, although I have two questions:
1)If I need to ALWAYS write to line number 9 of an existing RTF file, do I need to "read" 9 times or can I immediately position myself to line number 9. I have found character manipulation but can't seem to find what I need with positioning to a particular line number.
2)BOLD text: I have found examples where I should be able to format my text, such as
MyFile.WriteLine ""
MyFile.WriteLine Text
MyFile.WriteLine "0"
but when doing this, it does not "bold" my text, but actually prints the text exactly as shown. I'm looking for information/links that I can "bold" "Italicize" text. Code is written in VS2005.

Is there an easy way to insert a line into the very beginning of a large file?I want to insert an XML header line into XML files that my program processes (These files can be very large, so reading it via bitstream and writing it out is not a good option).
File.AppendText makes it very easy to append lines to the end of a file, but I don't see anything for inserting text.I wonder how does say Access work in processing say a 50 meg access database file? There must be a similar process where you can insert data anywhere inside a large file.

The app saves that notes to a txt file, and when opening it reads the file and shows the already inserted notes. However, I want the user to be able to delete some of those notes...but I can't seem to do it...this is what I have:

It goes fine, but the text.Replace(value, "") line doesn't seem to work. I've also tried text.Remove(0) but it doesn't removes the line...it looks like it has no effect.
i want that when the user presses enter (ctrl+enter) in a datagridview cell the pilcrow sign will be inserted.is there any automated way to do this or do i have to catch the event and substitute the new line character with the ascii pilcrow sign ?
View 3 RepliesI have a program that reads a text file tab delimted using OLEDb .I need to be able to allow the user to insert a user created record into the file which I can do.
The problem is I need to be able to let the user edit that record. From my understanding you can not edit or delete with OLEDB only insert So I thought I would read the file using stream reader, find the line I want to edit and just delete it, rewrite the file, then let the user insert a new record
If someone has a better way to perform this operation I am open its just the best way I could find with my limited knowledge and the reading and researching I have been doing thus far.
So I am trying to step-by step and first read the file which seems to work then find the line that would need to be deleted. So I was trying to use the
line.startswith method. I am using msgbox to see if that works before I continue but it doesnt seem to work I know my file has several lines starting with "Active" but my msgbox returns "False"

I have two DataGridView controls on different forms. One is bound and one is non-bound. I am not sure if it is my imagination but I find that properties behave different based on the bound or non-bound. When I compare the properties I do not see any that are different except the data binding properties. On the non-bound DataGridView, the whole line is always highlited, I cannot figure out how to turn it off. Trying to make the grid behave more like an excel grid.
