Vista And TCPClient - Address Incompatible With Requested Protocol Used
Feb 25, 2010I did a simple program using tcpclient on xp last year and it worked fine but now I have vista installed and I am getting an error now when i try to connect.
The error is "An address incompatible with the requested protocol was used."

first:The requested address is not valid in its context
second , it receives broadcast it sends, i dont want this. I want only the listeneing server app to receive the broadcast....the sending code

Dec 1, 2011I am working with TVP and I am trying to pass a data table to the stored procedure as TVP. When the command tries to ExecuteNonQuery it throws an error:Operand type clash: datetime2 is incompatible with int. The data for table-valued parameter "@tvpPermitWork" doesn't conform to the table type of the parameter.I checked the data table using the visualizer and I find all the data to be correct. I am now stuck and I don't have the time to change it to stored procedures with individual parameters.

I found a ActiveX protocol to communicate with the reader, but I've no idea how to use it. Nov 27, 2009I'm trying to use the DHCP API (using the references on pinvoke.net) to retrieve a computer's MAC address when given the IP address but I can't get the code to work. I've run all the C# code on pinvoke.net through the C#-to-VB converter but I'm stuck now.
Here's what I have so far. The value of res is always 5 (should be 0). Thing is, I can't find any documentation on what the return codes mean

Excel.Version Incompatible With European Language?
Sep 3, 2010With XP set to a language such as Spanish (Spain), the VBA-in-Excel function "Excel.Version" returns the text string "11.0" (not "11,1"). It does not respect the language setting.
"CLng(Excel.Version)" then produces the value "110" (wrong!), perhaps because CLng respects the language setting and is looking for a comma instead of a period.
The work-around is easy. But I need to know if switching to another language requires a setting that my client in Spain missed, or is this just a bug.
If it is a bug, is the problem limited to this one function (Excel.Version), or are there other functions that return values in text format that are affected?

Mar 10, 2010I'm using a SQL Server 2008 stored procedure to create a new record with this syntax:
cmd.Parameters.Add("@photo", DBNull.Value)
cmd.ExecuteNonQuery()
but the result is a:
Operand type clash: nvarchar is incompatible with image
Photo is not the only parameter but is the only image one, I am not passing a nvarchar but a null value, am I missing something?

Does not? (The difference is ByRef/ByVal)

On the server I want to be able to receive the data on another port (E.g. 8888). Is this possible?And final question is. What protocol should I use for this purpose TCP or UDP.

FTP The Server Committed A Protocol Violation?
Dec 19, 2010Currently have a program on the market and just did a major update which 100s of people downloaded, the problem is that that update had a major bug which made it crash. So quickly got to work to fix the bug but everytime I connect my software to the FTP database I get this Error Message:
"The underlying connection was closed: The server committed a protocol violation."
I triple checked my code. Everything is right One minute it was working the next minute it wasn't,My buyers are getting very frustrated and I've had to cancel all orders due to this., The bug in the update software which I have now fixed but this other bug to do with protocol violation.I havent tested if its just now my computer that the error messages comes up or it happens on others.I've tried 3 seperate FTP servers and all the same results?
