View 4 RepliesI've been using 'GetScrollInfo' to find the position of the scrollbar on a ListView and I can detect when it hits the bottom of the list. Is there anyway I can raise an event when the scrollbar changes? At the moment I have it working by using a timer but I would rather if possible create an event to fire my routine.
View 1 RepliesAlright inside of a combo box I have a list of colors and I want to change the background color of the combo box to the selected color...basically this... but im not sure what the problem is here anyone have some advice or is this not possible?
CBLinerColor.BackColor() = CBLinerColor.Items.Item(0)
Basically i want dynamic code that will change the color depending on the items in the box.
I recently started learning Visual Basic, so my knowledge base on it is very poor.What I am trying to do, is creating a simple form with three scroll bars for RGB colors (valued from 0 to 255) and according to the RGB values changing the backcolor property of a picturebox.
I ran into a dead end while trying to convert the scrollbar integer values into color values and I have no idea what to do. Any suggestions how I should perform these kind of operations?
I need to set the background color of a label based on the value of a vertical scrollbar. i.e, if the user click the vScrollBar the background color of label must change like from 0 to 255.if it reaches to 255 again initialise to 0. I tried color.FromARGB function but it is not working.
View 2 RepliesI am having a slight problem using the color change alongside an if and then value. What I want is for gtotal.text to display in red IF the value drops below a "saved" number previousley used in the program. this number is used as "addicost"
Below is a snippet of the code that is most likely to be wrong. The color of gtotal always displays as red by the way. The only time it displays as black is when it first appears on the screen, but after "recalculating" the number in gtotal, it always displays as red.
If total > addicost Then
gtotal.ForeColor = Color.Red
gtotal.Text = String.Format("Total: £{0}", total.ToString())
[CODE]...
I have now noticed that by calculating in such a way that G total = 0 makes it display in black. So maybe addicost isnt saving properly? which would be insane since I use it at another point in the program okay.
Private Sub Button2_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button2.Click
Dim AddCost As Double
Dim Total As Double
AddCost = My.Settings.AddCost
[CODE]...
This is how I save addicost

View 2 RepliesI'm having a strange problem and can't seem to find a solution to it.I ahve a code in a backgroundworker and at certain points a label's color should change.[code]It just stays the same color as it was when the form opened.The form opens before the code is ran.However, if I place a button in the form with the code and add this as code for the button:[code]Why does it work with the button, but not with the backgroundworker? (button and backgroundworker are both in the same form, and color changes should appear in a different form called Status)

View 1 RepliesI have a combobox called cbMaterialType on a windows form that's bound to a table in SQL - everything loads great and the combobox displays 'Material' items as it should, in that table I have two fields - Material (as mentioned above) which is a char(25) and InStock which is an nchar(1). If the InStock field contains a '1', I'd like the individual material to be green in the combobox, if '0', then red. I have the simple code in the drawitem event of the combobox as follows, but can't seem to get any results at all:
Private Sub cbMaterialType_DrawItem(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.DrawItemEventArgs) Handles cbMaterialType.DrawItem
If MaterialTableAdapter1.GetData.Item(cbMaterialType.SelectedIndex).InStock = 1 Then
cbMaterialType.ForeColor = System.Drawing.Color.Green
Else
cbMaterialType.ForeColor = System.Drawing.Color.Red
End If
End Sub
I've never worked with any form of color in comboboxes before and this is my first attempt at the drawitem event.
