VS 2008 Button FlatStyle.Popup Clicked Border Shadow
Sep 26, 2010
I have a little problem with the shadow of a button when in popup style. [code] This fat border only disappear if I click another button; then the fat border is instead on that button. I'm sure this is by design, but I want this button style without this "feature". Is it possible to avoid the remaining border shadow behavior?
I have seen on a few applications where there is a Pop-up page that has Tab controls on it with an several buttons on the bottom for Ok, Cancel and Help. These three buttons are on all 6 Tabs, but I don't think they actually have different button clicks for each tab. How does one have these three button on all the tabs but without having to have separate clicks statements.
I am working on a project and i am required to set up a 2d arrray of buttons. This part is fine and working. My problem is detecting the name of a button when it is clicked. I have a feeling it has something to do with sender, but i just can't crack it. If you need more info or code, then just ask.
I'm trying to create a new folder after a button is clicked, though it's not working.
vb Private Sub Button2_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button2.Click IO.Directory.CreateDirectory(FolderBrowserDialog1.SelectedPath) End Sub
Any sample code that will cause the logic coded in the clicked event of a Button to be executed, in Powerbuilder I would code it as Button, triggerevent(Clicked!)
I would like to have a label's text recorded into a database when my button is clicked. I do not yet understand the database connection. I have created the db, and have the following
Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click Dim Conn As String = "Provider=Microsoft.SQLSERVER.CE.OLEDB.3.5; Data Source=c: empTestDB.sdf;" Dim tConnection As New OleDb.OleDbConnection(Conn)
[code]....
When I try to test this the .ExecuteNonQuery() becomes highlighted and says the given type name is unrecognized. My table is setup as table1 and the only 2 columns are datetime and temperature. I want the label text to go to temperature and I would like somehow the time the temperature was taken to go into the datetime field. I had the provider=microsoft.jet.oledb.4.0, but I changed it since I thought this was the one to use.
I have used the flatstyle to make the buttons flat. Now I would like to flaten the ColumnHeaders, but haven't been sucessful. This is what I used for the buttons.
I have numerous buttons on a form, one each to select a playing card (52 buttons). When the Card(button) is selected I want to highlight it by changing the border from black to Red, then if reclicked from change back from red to black, easy enough (if then else). So that I do not have to copy this code 52 times I wanted to create a module as follows:
Sub ChangeButtonBorderColor(ByRef ButtonName) If (Equals(ButtonName.BorderBrush, Brushes.Red)) Then ButtonName.BorderBrush = Brushes.Black
How to make a link button visible after another button has been clicked in asp.net(vb) in button_click()
it says error as "Object reference not set to an instance of an object."
i've done this in my code
Protected Sub InsertButton_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Dim receipt As LinkButton = FormView1.FindControl("LinkButton1") ' receipt.Enabled = "true"
I have already done the creation of button and the dragging of button at runtime already. But now i need to know how do i save the last dragged button on the form and also detect the name of the last clicked button.so lets say i now drag a button to coordinates 25,254. so when i exit the form and the next time i launch it, the button will still be at 25,254. and this one will go on for the number of button i created like 100. so when i launch the form the 100 button will be at the exact position where i last saved them.the second part is lets say i created button1 and button2 on the form in runtime. so when i clicked the first button, it should display button1. and if i clicked on button 2, it should say button2. same goes for like 100buttons.
If I use a button, I can't get rid of the white border apearing around it as soon as I press it. It stays there even after until I press something else. In the button properties I declared the Flatstyle as Standard because I like that look the most.
I'm on page 243 of "Sam's Teach Yourself Visual Basic 2008" and it says: * Display the ViewerForm form in the Form Designer * Double-click on the Draw Border button on the toolbar. Only -- I don't see a Draw Border button on the toolbar.
in my on the job training i need to develop a program (webinterface in later stage) that is able to work with the volume shadow copy service.after about a month of research i have found about nothing about how to program it using the sdk or something like that.so now im asking on forums if there is anyone who has experience with using it in own programs.so what does it have to do?first i would like to be able to get information about a volume that uses VSS. information like how many copy's were made, when were those copy's created. what files are included in the copy.my prefered langauge is C# but im not affraid to learn (more) about VB or C++
I am setting my Winforms Button control properties to appear as a hyperlink would on a web page. I've formatted everything fine, except the border in the FlatAppearance object. I have code to act as pseudo-CSS (FormBackColor is a string constant.):
The code removes the border from the flat Button control except on MouseOver, where I add a 1 pixel border. On MouseLeave, I remove the border. This is to show some visual feedback. This works fine when the button does not have the focus. However, if I click on the button, giving the button focus, mousing out and over again now shows a greater than 1 pixel border around the button. I'm imagining it's combining my button's explicit 1 pixel border with the traditional "Winform Button has the focus, so add a border" border around the Button. How can I disable/remove the "Winform Button has the focus, so add a border" border? Or, should I just do a check in ButtonMouseOver to check if the control has the focus, being a condition of adding the border, and just be done with it?
I was playing around with designing a custom interface for a test application and I am using a custom image for a close button. I am using the FlatStyle properties to define it's look'n'feel. I've set the border to 0 but when the application loses focus, the border of the button shows up.I have tried to force the property to go 0 again when the application's "LostFocus" event is captured but doesn't work.I am also using a "rollover" method using MouseHover and MouseLeave events to change the image of the button.Using Visual Basic 2008 Express Edition.
How to set the BUTTON border line color transparent? Because my BUTTON background pic is not a square. So when i click the button i will see the border line ..
I'm finishing up an app for work that will work hand in hand with another app.
What I'd really like to do, is setup a method to add a button to the other apps border. So all they have to do is click that button when in that other app, do their business and move on.
Now, if I hadn't seen it before, I most certainly would've thought that this wouldn't be possible. But I've seen TeamViewer do it.
In that image, TeamViewer created a two-way arrow button and when clicked, displays a small panel of some sort with additional options.
I'm 99.99% sure I'll have to use Windows APIs, but I'm not sure where to begin.
I have an observation to share about the 1st character of a checkbox text being truncated when the FlatStyle property is set to system. Details follow: I am using Microsoft Visual Studio Team System 2008. Development Edition
A few details copied from the Help -> About -> Copy Info button Version 9.0.21022.8 RTM Microsoft .NET Framework Version 3.5 Installed Edition: Enterprise Microsoft Visual Basic 2008 91904-270-3624373-60139
Here are the steps that I followed: File -> New Project -> Windows Forms Application Double clicked the CheckBox from the Toolbox and it started to show up on Form1. In the CheckBox properties, I set the following: Text: Windows Font Name: Arial The Font Size is left to the default which happens to be 8.25 in my case. FlatStyle: System
Now note the 1st character of the CheckBox. I see the "W" truncated. I tried modifying the CheckAlign and TextAlign property values as per this page: [URL]. But could not find a reason. Changing the FlatStyle or the Font size seemed to work. But for this specific set of property values, the W isn't rendered correctly.
I am trying to solve an issue in my application where the following exception is occurring: there is already an open datareader associated with this command which must be closed first. I am using TableAdapters, which maintain their own DataReaders, and everything seems to work fine unless I am interacting with one of my background workers.
In my code, I shadow the Item property of my collections so that I can retrieve the actual data from the database if needed. Here is a sample:
[code]...
Now each reference to the Item get property instantiates its own DataAdapter, so I am confused as to how the same DataReader will ever be used in this scenario. Is there something I am missing? All the TableAdapters do in fact use the same connection object, but I wouldn't think that would be a problem
I am using the notify icon to display a popup and i want to show a button and a progressBar in the popup if it is possible. If you've used yahoo messenger or msn messenger you know that when you recieve a call it shows you a popup and you can interact with it. Thats the kind of thing i want.
I want to add a button or a picture box into the form border like in microsoft word 2007 or in windows 7's ms paint but i can't figure out for the life of me how to go about doing it. I am using Microsoft Visual Basic 2008 Express Edition
