They are working beautifully, now i have to automate this process. already have a code in place to wait for the website to finish with each button so i am not sure if i can still use a timer to complete this process?

View 6 RepliesI am working on networks. My work involves finding out what nodes connected to a specific node (Source node). I have developed a code which does this using a recursive function. The only problem that I have I need to record the path. For example shown in the picture below, my program give me the following results:
1 Node 3 is conncted to 1 via 1
2 Node 5 is conncted to 1 via 3
3 Node 4 is conncted to 1 via 1

Im wondering if there is some way of monitoring individual processes (read: not mine) cpu usage and ending (asking politely then killing it off) the offending process. I dont know about you, but i've been in multiple instances where i've been unable to get to taskmanager to "choose" process to be killed. For multiple reasons (Either taskmanager has been visible, but a game window is still showing (alt+tab not working), leading to a guess game of clicking processes or cpu usage has been so high that one mouseclick takes 30 sec.)

I am currently using a recursive search to get all of the files in a directory as well as in all subdirectories of that directory. At the moment (as a temporary solution to make sure the script worked) I have all files with their respective directories listed in a listview (2 separate columns).

View 1 RepliesI have a combobox called cbMaterialType on a windows form that's bound to a table in SQL - everything loads great and the combobox displays 'Material' items as it should, in that table I have two fields - Material (as mentioned above) which is a char(25) and InStock which is an nchar(1). If the InStock field contains a '1', I'd like the individual material to be green in the combobox, if '0', then red. I have the simple code in the drawitem event of the combobox as follows, but can't seem to get any results at all:

I've never worked with any form of color in comboboxes before and this is my first attempt at the drawitem event.
OK I need to end up with a byte array that is 12 bytes long, because I need to send it via UDP to a server that expects it in that format.
These 12 bytes are a combination of single bit flag fields, 16 bit integer fields and some 3 and 4 bit integer fields.
So I have defined a class that has a property for each of these 'fields' but I'm having a little trouble getting my head around how I can set individual bytes based on 16 bit Integers that are passed in to these properties.
For example, lets say I want to set one of these 16 bit fields to a value of 300. I would set the relevant property in my class to a UInt16 with a value of 300. The problem is converting that UInt16 to 2 separate bytes to assign them to the array because as far as I know there is no way to assign the value of 2 bytes in the array at the same time (obviously a UInt16 is 2 bytes long).
I want a context menu strip to have 4 specific items. For testing purposes, we call them Item1, Item2, Item3, and Item4.I've set up a context menu strip like this, and I am using it for about 20 different controls. I want these four items to do different things based on what control the user right clicks. The only way I could think of doing this, was to make 20 context menu strips and create a click event for each item. This obviously, seems like a really bad way of doing it.Does anyone have any suggestions or another way of making the click events for the individual Items based on what control is right clicked?

But when the tool needs to check more then 5000 links, he will do it very, very slow. He can be busy for like two days. I have built an Updater for my application, It connect to my webserver and downloads a txt file which works fine, But when it comes to download the new exe from the webserver is exceptions saying that the file was not found on the server, But if I copy and paste the address into the web browser it comes up with a file download box.Is this by design for security reasons and is there a way around it or is something wrong? I'm using this code to download a file from ftp server,it works fine but progress bar doesn.'t update, WClient_ProgressChanged is raised only at 100% downloaded.Download time isn't so fast is about 27 seconds for a 17Mb file.
I used the search, Could not find something on auto starting the program from download, or auto run, I'm not sure what it is exactly called, that might be why I didn't find anything.
View 2 RepliesI have a webapp where a datagridview is populated with records from a database and one of the columns is a download link to download the zip or exe file. We have the zip files on our server, but not the exe files as those are on another department's server. We have all of the file available for download, but if the user as an option selected in a dropdown, those url's in the gridview are re-formatted to be the exe file's on the other dept's server, however they don't have all of them (some 20% are missing) which means if the user click's the link they get their server's 404 not found page and can't download the file.
My PM (Project Manager) is asking me if I can have our webapp detect that the file doesn't exist on their server and instead of them getting the 404 page, they don't leave our app at all and get a javascript popup window or the page is refreshed with a red mark (and a message) next to the link they clicked on, is something like that possible? I have 2 restrictions with this, I can't modify the database because it doesn't contain file paths, it only contains a small portion like (Clinton County, Eaton County, Traverse County, etc..) and the rest of the url is formatted on the fly when the page is rendered, so there's no way to mark the missing files and there's no way we can host the files.
I'm trying to write code to download from an FTP site. I got it to work in some cases - mostly text files, but when the reader reads a value greater than 256 it seems to have difficulty. Right now I'm trying with a ZIP file, and the file downloads, but always says, 'File is Corrupted' when I try to open it.
