I have wondered the solution to this question for many years! I doubt if anyone else knows much about it because the internet is absolutely zero help in this!
I have made a form1 with a webbrowser control on it. When the program is run it brings up the homepage (which is Google). However the homepage doesn't seem to fit inside the webbrowser control.
So I am hoping that someone could tell me how to make the (...I dunno how to ask this retarded question...) webpage fit completely (100%) inside the size of the webbrowser control. Meaning...I would like to see the entire webpage from the internet in the size of the webbrowser control. To fill the entire size (whatever size I want).
Etc... if my webbrowser ontrol is seh, set to 600px by 400px, how can I program this so when it brings up the homepage (or any other page), it fills the entire size of the webbrowser control? Without any scrollbars. How to make the contents from the web (or local) fill the size of the webbrowser - almost like a mini browser if you will.
I would like to have one combo box associated with another combo box. When the first one is selected the price is displayed in the next one. The information is got from a txt file and the item name loads in the first combo box and the price loads in the other combo box. What I want it to do is to show the correct price when the first box is selected for the item Here is a copy of my code at the moment. [code]
I'm having hard time to get a captcha to picturebox1 using picturebox1.load because it creates a new request or something I dunno and the captcha images is not the same as i see over webbrowser1. so what I want to be able to do is use the same webbrowser1 where i see the captcha and using this webbrowser to grab the captcha image using picturebox1.load or save it to hard drive and load it after, how can I do that? when i go to captcha SRC with the current webbrowser1 I see the correct captcha image but if there is another browser it will mess it up (Cookies?)how can I save or load the captcha with same webbrowser1 to keep the cookies so i can see correct captcha image?
to send word's into it for a game but when i go click something else it type's the word's in that is there a way that i can make it only send the TextBox6.Text data to webbrowser1 ?
I have set my webBrowser a URL and I have searched for examples but they didn't work and just return a blank screen.[code]And others and I know how to get a screenshot but not a webBrowser screenshot.
I'm having problems executing this command as a BackgroundWorker. I wrote a license verification program that executes upon loading so I wanted do that in the background so that the program opens up right away and not wait for it to complete execution. The license verification codes work when it directly loads but when I put it in a BackgroundWorker it stalls at this command. WebBrowser1.Document.GetElementsByTagName("input") doesn't seem to execute in BackgroundWorker. I put a test msgbox before and after this command it and the after msgbox doesn't execute.Dim ElementCollection1 As HtmlElementCollection = WebBrowser1.Document.GetElementsByTagName("input")
I got working code to get captcha image to picturebox1
[Code]...
there is just 1 issue with this code "WebBrowser1.Document.Images(145)" 145 is the index of the captcha image at this correct page I'm in but every page has new index number is there a way to detect this index code? i have found this code so no idea how to edit this one, what it does is just using the correct webbrowser1 to get captcha img, anyone knows?
how I can implement my calendar with VB .net express 2008 and MSSQL 2008 Express. How do I get it to work with datasets, binding source etc.If I go to Properties>settings my connection string is:
Data Source=.SQLEXPRESS;AttachDbFilename=|DataDirectory|CalendarDatabase.mdf;Integrated Security=True;Connect Timeout=30;User Instance=True
and I have a table with fields:-
CalendarID Subject Location Purpose
[code]....
I can Add the event to the calendar I have the necessary items on my form linked to my table and I can save them to my table:
I have created my first ComboBox form but now I am stumped. I am using VB Express 2010. What Toolbox or Property buttons do I use to generate code for the following:
(1) Title.Text (to add text on my form)
(2) Title. Location (location on the form)
(3) Items.ADD (to add the options on the drop down)
(4) Dropdownstyle
Please give instruction like On ToolBox (left side) click XXXXXX , then click, then click.
I'm just using the default SQL Server Express in my vb 2008 express edition as my database server for my database operation. When I tried to update the records on my table I got a runtime error which indicates the error on this line 'myCommand.ExecuteNonQuery()'and it highlights a yellow background on it. The runtime error says "SqlException was unhandled: An expression of non-boolean type specified in a context where a condition is expected, near 'Number'. ".
Imports System.Data.SqlClient Private Sub Button3_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button3.Click Dim myConnection As New SqlConnection Dim myCommand As New SqlCommand
I tried to start using VB 2010 Express with a program I originally developed with VB 2005 Express that I moved to VB 2008 Express successfully a couple years ago. It uses a database file (*.mdf) that is on the computer ( not out on a server). When attempt to run the program in debug mode, I get the following error "An attempt to attach an auto-named database for file C:Documents and SettingsTomMy DocumentsQuizzing StuffQuestion Database 2010QuizQuest ionGameQuizQuestionGameinReleaseQuizQuestionDB.mdf failed. A database with the same name exists, or specified file cannot be opened, or it is located on UNC share."
I first made a copy of the entire project folder that was working in VB 2008 Express and gave it a different name. In VB2010 I opened the project in the copied folder and it said it successfully converted the project. I am able to open the Data Source inthe Designer and see the database structure as I expect. I think the project is still using SQL Server 2005 Express (because it is what is checked in the list of prerequisites on the Publish tab).
Note, I have programmed off and on for many years, but fairly new to using databases and SQL Server.
how I can get the WebBrowser1 control to display an HTML file stored locally on disk when it launches, similar to a homepage. My attempts have all resulted in failure. I am currently trying the following:

If you need me to supply more information, I am happy to do so.
Here is the scoop: I am trying to make a user account SQL database work with Visual Basic 2008 Express for login purposes, i.e. usernames & passwords. Plan is to host this server so people can login to use the the application and verify they have a valid account. I would like to host all the account information in SQL due to the possiblity of hundreds of users at any given time. I also need the ability to add data to the database for users registering for the first time. The SQL server will need to be able to access the SQL Server databases remote via WAN.
I am trying to re write a VB6 program using MS Access, many years ago, using VB 2010 express and SQL server 2008 R2 Express. I have a database with several tables, which I created using the designer. I am able to connect to the database and select data and display it in textboxes etc in vb code. What I have not been able to in code is to INSERT rows DELETE rows or UPDATE any data in the tables. I can do any of these operations using the Query Designer, but I want to do it in code. I can post some code if necessiary, but I thought it might just be some property that I had not set in the designer.
In a VS2008 VB project, I have a combobox that gets its values from a SQL Express table. This table has three columns. I want to display the value from one column in the combobox, and obviously the user will select from this. I want to then write the value of the selected record from a second column back to a different table, and I also want to change the value of a radio button (on the same form as the combobox) based on the value of the third column of the selected record.I'm setting the ComboBox.Text value to be the first column, the ComboBox.SelectedValue to be the second column, but how would I change the radio buttons in the most efficient way? If it was VB6, I'd probably make another trip to the database to find the value of the third column based on the selected value from the combobox. I'm not familiar enough with the tableadapter concept but I suspect I should use them to do what I need.
there Dream in Code Community! Im an okay programmer as far as skill right now I am still learning as we all are I need some help from some experienced VB.NET programmers in the community, Here is the scoop: I am trying to make a user account SQL database work with Visual Basic 2008 Express for login purposes, i.e. usernames & passwords.
The program I am trying to modify was initially written using VB 2005 Express. I have subsequently downloaded the 2008 version. The program creates a monthly spreadsheet from a template. The old code that will no longer (highlighted and underlined) compile is as follows:
I have started a form application using visual studio 2010 express, vb programming. I'm using Access as my database. My goal is to have ComboBox1 display a ProjectID and ComboBox2 display a TestNumber. Once the Test Number is selected I want my textboxes in the form to display fields from the row that the selected Test Number is in.I have 2 tables set up right now "Projects" and "TestData". The "Projects" table has a [ProjectID] field, the remaining fields are just misc. project data. The "TestData" table also has the [ProjectID] field, and then the [TestNumber] field, then the remaining fields are misc. data.
Filling [ProjectID] in textbox1 is easy, in the properties I select DataSource from the Projects table, display [ProjectID] field. Where I'm having troubles is ComboBox2 displaying the TestNumber from the other "TestData" table. If I select that field, it fills the ComboBox with EVERY TestNumber there is. So for Project 1 there is a test 1... over 500 projects, that combobox lists 500 Test 1's, no way to tell what project it belongs to...How do I make ComboBox2 only display Test Numbers that pertain to the Project number selected in ComboBox1?Using this code I can get it to work:
Dim ProjectNo, SQLString As String Dim dtTableData As New DataTable() Dim dbDataAdapter As OleDbDataAdapter
[code]....
I also imported system.data.oledb Problem with this code is it will only filter data in ComboBox 2 but when you make your selection from ComboBox2 it won't activate the row so none of my databinding textboxes fill anymore. Before the code/query is ran it fills up the textboxes perfectly after every selection I just have no idea what project that report number belongs to because the whole field is displayed in the dropdown. I can fill the form with ComboBoxes and they display the corresponding row data because I use a "datasource" instead of textbox "databindings" but I don't want to use 20 comboboxes as my entry form...
In a combobox dropdown. What toolbox or properties do I use in VB Express 2010 to add a default to my drop down so the user will see the default when the panel is first shown?
I'm using VB 2008 Express for our College Project. I'm also running SQL Server 2008 Express and have installed SQL Server Management Studio and used it to create my database. Both software have been installed and running locally. I'm trying to connect to the database from VB 2008 Express. Database connection wizard have 3 options:
connecting to Access db connecting to SQL Server 3.5 compact db and connecting to SQL Server db file.
I have SQL 2008 Express and Visual Basic 2008 Express runing on XP Professional SP2. When I select add new data source from VB I don't have the option to connect to SQL Server 2008 express to get at the to SQL Server Database. I also notice that the OLE DB connector is not availble as a data connector. Can somebody please confirm that VB 2008 Express can connect directly to SQL Server 2008 Express and how I can achieve it.
'm trying to use Visual Basic 2008 Express and connect to a DB of SQL Server 2008 Express but ... you can tell me why in the Database Explorer and the Data menu of VB only have the following options for data source? Microsoft Access Database File Microsoft SQL Server Compact 3.5 Microsoft SQL Server Database File does not have the options Microsoft ODBC Data Source Microsoft SQL Server obs.: I have the Visual Web Express 2008 installed, and there are the options available.
I am using WebBrowser1.DocumentText to get a websites source code, and then parse a string. I am trying to view the source line by line, and doing it as follows:
[Code]...
However what is displayed is each character from the source code, rather than the line. I am making the client log into a website, and the needed value from the source code is then parsed, so I need to use the WebBrowser type to get the source code.
