1. I have Combobox with 3 urls in there ( Facebook.com Tagged.com and Bebo.com )
2. I have a Form2 with webbrowser
3. I have a Button when clicked it should open up my form 2 and preview of the website which I selected in my combobox in form1

I have been converting my VB6 programmes to VB 2008, and I am beginning to regret it.According to the books that I am reading on the subject, I can call a second form from the first one. That is, when the first form code has completed, and the final line reads:
frmForm2.Show()
the second form should open and wait for input.This does not happen, the form flashes and then disappears without allowing any input, or button click.I must admit that I preferred being able to start from a module, with a Main() sub, which then read the forms, a la VB6. everything seemed to work fine then.
When I hit the submit button I want the entered data to appear in textboxes on groupForm, but this isn't happening. I have to restart the form or hit the Refresh button for the data to appear.[code]...
I added groupForm.populate() at the end of the latter function for testing purposes, but I know that shouldn't be necessary ("populate" just loops over all items in the ProfitObjects array and calls NewProfitObjectsItem for each one).
Anyway; when I submit the data from the second form, the groupForm doesn't automatically show the new data. I either have to hit the refresh button or restart the form (it calls populate() on form load).
I simply want the new item to appear immediately after Submitting it. And it should, because that's what groupForm.NewProfitObjectsItem() does. And to top it off I added groupForm.populate(). I'm assuming it's not working because it's called from an external form, or because the other form is open/has the focus.
I have a form frmInvMaint which loads about 800 000 records from my Pick database. I have a 2nd form frmLoading with a animated gif on it. The reason for this is the application takes about 30seconds to return the selection from the DB. During that time, the application seems to be hanging (not responding). I added the frmLoading to show, before the selection executes. This way the user will see a animated loading gif on his screen, assuring him that the application is working in the background. My lame attempt on multi threading failed. The gif on frmLoading hangs, infact, the entire form hangs. Will multithreading fix this if done properly?

I have two forms. Form 1 you click a button, and it opens Form 2. Form 1 is still open.
When you click a button on Form 2, I want to run a Private Sub that is on Form 1, whilst Form 1 is still open.
The idea is that the data i've entered on Form 2, once I close this form, I can continue working with Form 1 with the updated data without having to close and re-open it.

Here is the scene:In Form1 I have a variant that gets its value from the selections of a listbox. The code is:OPtext) in Form2 because this selection from Listbox (in Form 1) should also trigger some events in Form 2. I tried to use a module and declare the variant using Public. I did this and I now can use the variant in Form 2. But the value selected in Form1 does not come to Form 2.

IThere's a button on the toolstip that's always enabled for form2 so they are always able to search the database.When a user is on form1 and selects the link button. They are taken to form2 to select criteria to search. On Form3 they choose 1 item in the grid andcan select the Link It button on the form to link the 2 selected grid items (form1 and form3). Since form2 and form3 are available at anytime.my problem is knowing when the Link button on form1 has been chosen and after a successful link to not allow anymore links. Technically, they could pull form2 up via the toolstrip or an existing form2 window and Link as long as Form1 is on the screen but I do not want this. It's as though I need a global variable to set to True/False.

View 1 RepliesI have an app that I'm using Form2 to display informaitonal messages without having the user to press the OK button. I DIM form2 as a new form as a global and then add a lable to it on the fly and then control it's appearance with a timer. This all works great providing the main form is being displayed however I can't make Form2 show up if the main form is minimized or hidden. I can get around this a bit by keeping the main form maximized but change it's Opacity to zero but once I do that I have no idea how to return the Opacity back to normal when I do want to see the form. Anyone have any ideas on how to make Form2 display if the main from is minimzed or how to control the Opacity of the main form so I can return things to normal? I was thinking that there might be something I could do with hovering over or clicking on the icon in the taskbar but I don't know what that event might be.
