VS 2008 - How To Store User Numeric Index / Socket Number

I have been working on recoding a VB6 client/server application of mine and have run into a bit of an issue with storing the players location on the tile map which means I will need to rework the way I am storing the user connections. In my VB6 application I would store the user's numeric index/socket number/whatever you'd like to call it as the Key, however, in VB 2008 I can't seem to find where, or if, the numeric index is stored. If this isn't possible then does anyone have an example of how they store user connections using some numeric index as the key of a hashtable?

Is there a numeric text box, not an up-down box, a SIMPLE numeric box into which the user can place a number, 5 boxes actually, then on command have the five boxes added and the sum displayed?

I am using VB .net 2010 express from microsoft. I have a numeric up down box to display a variable that the user can choose a number for. Then I have a text box that I want to display a result of the updown box * 1.5... So far I have the following... What do I need or need to change? I have the integer variables initialized or whatever with Dim statements as follows -
'speed variables
Dim CruisingSpeed As Integer 'cruise speed - updown box
Dim FlankingSpeed As Integer 'Flanking speed - will be cruise * 1.5

It says that it cannot convert the up down box into an integer... I need it as an integer to calculate the other number...

I'm using an open source ribbon control that does not have click events for controls such as tabs, panels, etc.When I looked at the properties of the ribbon it does have the tabs, panels, etc. all in collections.I would like to change this (0) code so that I can get the index number of the control that the user clicks on. The tabs on this control are not like the regular tabs that come with Visual Studio. "Tabs" is a collection of Ribbon1.

I am coding a program that will allow the user to input 5 payrolls for Store 1, Store 2, and Store 3. The total of the 5 payrolls are then added together and shown in the respective Store's labels. A total label is also there to add up all the totals into one number. The numbers in the label must be in currency form. My problem is the numbers don't add correctly when I hit calculate. The first two numbers add together, but then after that the number just seems to subtract a random amount.

Trying to input a high setpoint, low setpoint, a % load, and number of compressors, then calculate the temp that all compressors are off. Then build a datagridview with the staging of compressors from all off to all on for each compressor up to 10 compressors.I am trying to insert headers from 1 to 10 compressors (Variable) with the text "Comp1", "Comp2", etc....Two rows with header. my application has a data table, one of the column set as decimal type to store number, data is read from a text file and store into the data table, then display in a datagridview, I found when that number is only 1 digit, that cell displays nothing (I think no number is being store in that cell), if I type a 1 digit number into that cell is fine. for example,
1.1 [ok]
12 [ok]
0.15 [ok]
4 [not display]
9 [not display]
-23.8 [ok]
so which data type I should use on this column, in order to display all this possible numbers

I dont want to be setting the index positions and lenghth to a specific number becuase when i choose a different name from the listbox that is at a different position or longer it wont display it properly. explain to me another way around this so as it will allow any details to be selected and read???

I haven't got the code, however I got the physical part of the program done with a label called Numeric Number and another called Roman Numeral, with text boxs next to each label. I also have a button called "convert" so when you enter a numeric number in, it'll convert it to a roman numeral. I need it to only convert from 1 to 10, but not accept a number less than 1 or more than 10.

I'm realy green when it comes to programming but I like to think I am learning quickly. However, I cant figure out how to generate a number of random numbers baised on the vailu of a numeric slider. So for example I am generating a number between 1-12 where each point of value for the slider would generate an indiigual number that can all be added to a final total. I have an application that, when I finish it, will generate a graph of data drawn from a My SQL Database. It's going to be a simple time graph, with time on the bottom and a few stuff on the y axis.What I want is for the user to be able to enter the date. I would like it to be like a numeric stepper. Before I had two numeric steppers in the form but I decided one would be best.The idea was it would be like this: mm:hh [UP/DOWN ARROWS HERE]I saw one that was in use in an actual program. It had it so when you clicked the minutes, it selected the minutes and you could change them. The you could select the hours and change them. How would I do this?

I've got the web browser with tabs in all working fine, but there's one bug, i can add tabs, delete em, etc.. but when i delete a tab then go to create a new tab, it gives me the error: InvalidArgument=Value of '6' is not valid for 'index'. Parameter name: index '6' is the number of tabs i had open.Here's the bit of code i use to create the tabs with the browser in it:

When the selected index changes I for a second time this code errors.

Why is this?It worked for the listviews.click event perfectly.

I need to find out how I can get the index number of a brand new row I just saved.
The table is set up with primary field as Identity (It auto generates the number

I have having problems with the code listed below. I'm trying to re-call the name of a product from a table when I know the productID which is the primary key but i'm getting court up as the primary keys do not match thier row numbers e.g. product with an id of 10 may be on row 2 so when I run my program i get the product name of the product on row 10 not on row 2. The database I'm using is microsoft trial database NorthWind. The rest of the code calculates the number, value and sum of the order.

I wrote a Socket Client which will send the Socket Server some data and get some response from Server. This process will be running once in every 2 seconds.
Now what I need to know is How we can identify the connection lost between Server and Client?
I need this to be implemented in the Client side. If there is no connection then Client should automatically close the connection. Once the connection with the server is available in the next attempt it should connect automatically.
