i'm trying to figure out how to emulate the grid in this picture:[URL]...Is this just a list view with column headers? also how would i go about making the actual grid lines, the normal list view is just white space usually.

This works fine. But when the grid is dropped on a TabControl tabpage, the ctrl-tab looks very different to the sub above. e.keycode is seen as controlkey {17} I realize that by default cntrl-Tab moves between tabpages. I need to override this behavior. My thought is I probably need a subclass of the tabControl which will pass the keycombo through just as the form does but I confess to being clueless as to how to accomplish that. I tried to override the onkeydown of a tabcontrol subclass and just issuing a return and not and base call to onkeydown if the ctrl-tab combo was pressed but it seemed to see the e.keycode as controlkey as well.

In the excel i have numers and text and "Service Pack", "Processor Speed" and "Numar procesoare(Number of processors)" and the values for these are numers. in the data grid when i import the excel those values doesn't appear, i receive the value "null".

Thus the subtotal field in the 1st row would equal the sum of the shown quantity field for the entire grid.The next row would include its value and all those beneath it. Its subtotal value would be less than the subtotal of the row above it (by the quantity value of the 1st row). My code for the grid is very simple I just can't figure out how to add this iteration.

View 5 RepliesAs I understood , The property grid is given an object which it can manipulate by extracting its Properties using reflections.
My problem is that I have a set of Parameters that is determined during run-time , thus I can't staticly compose a class with properties to represent this set.
I have two idea in mind to solve this problem but both are complex and will probably consume lot of time , infact i will say they are not practical under my time constraints. One is to use Reflection Emit in order to define a class dynamically and the other is to dynamiclly build a C# source file and then compile it using CodeDom.
Can Property grid behave in a different manner( other then extracting the Properties of an object using reflections ) that can suite my problem?
I want to say that the reason I went to the property grid from the begining was its ability to provide realy nice Data Retrieval UI for common types.For color you autometically get a palette , For dataTime you automatically have a nice calender. I would like to get those things automatically If possible.

What I would like to do is scroll the grid, so that the row that the program is 'looking at' is in the middle of the grid.

I am having a bit of trouble drawing a grid with GDI+ and VB.net 2008. The grid is designed as one point perspective. The horizontal lines are not correctly positioned, and the form is taking a long time to draw. Could anyone suggest a faster, and mainly more accurite method?

View 1 RepliesI have an unbound DataGridView that I am trying to fill with data, but am having a problem with the combobox column. I create the columns like this:[code]That works, and I have my columns like I want them, but I don't know how to add a row AND select the appropriate item in the combobox. I am adding items like this:[code]I can't figure out how to set the combobox column. And to top it off, since I changed the column from a text column to a combobox column, the grid is throwing exceptions, although it doesn't tell me what's wrong, it just tells me to handle the dataerror event, and all that I can get from that is e.Context = 3 and I can't find out what that means. Probably a type mis-match, but I can't find the proper way do select from the combobox. The rows add OK, but when I scroll the combobox column into view the first item is selected then the errors get thrown.
View 1 RepliesI have a datalogger with his own program on Windows via a RS232 port. This datalogger records data in two ways :
1- continuously (see picture 1)
2- when pressing 'Start recording' button.
The datalogger record a value each 1 sec. Between 2 values, I need to move a stepper motor. I want to synchronize the stepper motor with the datalogger. So, right after the data is recorded, I move the motor and I wait for the second data to be recorded, etc. The problem is the synchronisation. I have access to 2 triggering method when the data is recorded :
1-when a row is added in the grid (picture 1)
2-when the 'Recording' value change (from 5 to 6 by example)(picture 2)
The easiest option would be the second one because the 'Recording' value isn't a textbox, it's included in the general form. I cannot access to it directly. The class of the datagrid is Thundergrid and his name (Caption) is LIST. I want a VB program that will do the following..When I press a button in My Form :
-Get the handle of Thundergrid class, LIST named.
-Wait until the datagrid row number is 10.
-Then, a variable n will count +1 at each added row in the datagrid.
-Each time the n value will change (datagrid add a row), the motor will move.
-When the n value = 121, the cycle is done and I can collect the data.
For the interaction with the motor, it will be done by grounding a pin in the parallel port.I do not need help with the motor control, only the n value need to be synchronized with the datagrid.Please refer to the attached pics. I used Winspector to get the class of the datagrid. It is in the red box.

I cannot combine the values like usual in a flags enum. How do I show something like a checked listbox in the property grid, so that the user can combine flags by checking items? A None and All item would be great but not required. [url]
But even that does not work properly. It seems to check and uncheck items arbitrarily. If you check the first and fourth item for example, the second and third items will sometimes be checked too. Yes, I realize that is supposed to happen with the TestEnum property (as that defines 'BottomRight' as 'Bottom Or Right', so that's logical), but it also happens with the SecurityFlags for example, which it shouldn't.

The ListView control has a property called GridLines .It's supposed that , once this property is set to True , the control will display its grid lines among its rows and columns . I have a program that uses a database for all of its information. The program is just an easier way to understand all of the information.The user uses 1 of 4 search options (FName, LName, MemberID or Startdate). Depending on what they search for depends on which members are displayed in a data grid view.
Upon selecting the desiered member from the data grid view, information about them is then displayed. This information has been split up over 3 tabs called member information, Attendence and payment history.
That all works great. So I now go to the Attendence Tab and wish to update this members attendence by selecting a date from the date time picker, and select the Add attendence button.This also works fine, the attendence is update but the attendence data grid view is not updated automatically.
I have to select the member from the first data grid view to run the code to refresh the members information.So I thought, call the PopulateAttendenceHistory Private sub again and have it update the data grid view... but it still doesnt work.
i'm having a problem with a column in my datagrid. Basically i'm getting the data from a database table and putting it into a datagrid. Then i've added an extra column to add up the 2 prices from the table.
I can do that fine, but the problem is that it only shows the total price to the nearest pound.

im currently working on a program which must connect to a microsoft access 07 database file and do various operations on the data and then resave the data.Currently i can get the information displayed in a table using a DataGrid and browse through the data by scrolling or using a combo box which i linked to the data.
I am making a query for a quick search function using a text box and a button. I have the sql already however i need some help implementing the variable QSearch into the sql. QSearch is the variable which stores the infomation in the quick search text box. The query is currently in the TableAdapter section of DataSet.xsd ?
