Ok lets say you have a listview well call it "lv". There are items A, B, C and D. If i select A, C and D (holding ctrl) and hit a button it enters A, C, and D in a text box like below

note: (space) is a space

View 1 RepliesI have a listview control. it has an imagelist attached to it with two images in it. I have entered items into my listview, and they are using the first image in my imagelist.... GREAT! Now, there is a variable I have that will tell me which index in the listview is currently active, noting to do with what I select that could be at another index it's just what's being processed by the program at the time in some task.
Create a function that will change the images of all my listview items by looping through them. If the index variable is set to 2, I want the 3rd item in my list view set to use the 2nd image in my imagelist. The rest of the items in my listview need to be set to the first image in the imagelist.
Here's my working

I'm adding multi-threading facilities for the first time. I have a function that is wrapped to be run in a separated thread. This function retrieves data (text) from a combobox and it works for sure without multi-threading.
When I call it as multi-threaded, I get the following error when I try to retrieve the data from the cmobobox: Cross-thread operation not valid: Control 'cmb1stBL' accessed from a thread other than the thread it was created on.
It looks like a restriction of thread-safety... I assume that the child thread cannot read from his parent, to make sure that he doesn't change his parent data. So how can I read the data from the combobox? Should I read the comoboxbox data before calling the child thread?
How would I change the text in the last column in the listview. I was thinking of looping around the lsitview but that would just change ever item. Anyways this is what I have.[code]
View 5 RepliesI've been using 'GetScrollInfo' to find the position of the scrollbar on a ListView and I can detect when it hits the bottom of the list. Is there anyway I can raise an event when the scrollbar changes? At the moment I have it working by using a timer but I would rather if possible create an event to fire my routine.

I am currently using the following code to store all of the items from a listbox control in an array, and then build a string based on the array items, trimming the last two character of the string to remove the ", ". I am looking to do something similiar for my multicolumn listview control but am concerned about how to store the multiple subitems for each item in the array.

well i am populating a listview with some entries from an explorer tree, but i want to create a multi-column listview in which column 1 holds
the name of files added by me and column 2 hold locations of the corresponding file.
I got a very simple question regarding resizing listview columns. I have a form with a listview anchored to it (top, bottom, left, right). The form is resizable and the user will be able to resize the listview columns manually. However, I need the listview to resize its columns automatically when the form is resized (especially when its maximized).
But, I don't want all the columns to resize, only the ones I choose. For example, the listview will have 6 columns in total (0-5). When the user resizes or maximizes the window, I need only columns 2 and 4 (or columns 3 and 5 or columns 1 and 5) to resize. Now, I have come up with two pieces of code as listed below.
Code Part A: The following code only resizes one column. When the form is maximized, only the column ID provided will resize and fill the rest of the control. It works perfectly but I need to be able to resize multiple columns (as explained above):

I made a program (As usual) that plays media files using the ax.interlop.wmp.dll (windows media player). I also made a listview on the form that has gridlines. i have a problem with my mutiselect feature though. it just adds the same filename for every file, but in the amount files (Ex: if there is 8 files, it adds the name of the first one 8 times) i just want it to add every single filename to different rows, here is the current code that i have:

I have gotten as far as reading the correct data from the file to an array and populating the correct columns with said data. However, sometimes the array will span multiple lines of data in the file and I need all of these matches to populate the listview but the code that I have now only populates the listview with the data from the first matching line. I have tried declaring the variables as listviewitems instead of strings, which allowed me to use listView.Items.AddRange(arr) but then all of the data appeared in the first column instead of spread across all columns like it is supposed to. At this point I am at a loss because I can only figure out how to either fill the first column with all data or fill all columns with only the first line of data. Here is the code that I have

I have been reading books and the forums for a rew days now trying to work out how to use any control to carry out the following:Basically, I want to display a selection e.g "Club Name" in a combobox (or similar control) and have the ID of that selection in a separate hidden column e.g. "ClubID". I have a problem with a mutli-line text boxes, ListBoxes and DataGridView controls which contains a vertical scroll bar. The scroll bar is too small for anyone with big fingers. I want the user to be able to re-arrange the columns (by dragging the column headers) before printing the contents of the table.

Give the column-name (c) and cell-contents (3) of the origional table .. not the (3rd) column (b) of the re-arranged table.
