VS 2008 - PropertyGrid Expand / Collapse Particular Category
Apr 17, 2009
I am using VB.NET 2008. I am using propertygrid and have added a few elements. I have 3-4 categories and wanted to know how can I expand/collapse a particular category thru code. I did find a code on net but it didn't work.
When I comment out a particular Sub in my program the expand/collapse icon (+/-) disappears? I want to comment out a subroutine in my program & collapse it down to one line, but the +/- goes away when I do. It only happens on that one sub. When I comment out any other sub the "-" is there so I can collapse it.
I have a picturebox that I am importing an image to. I need it to expand but not expand past my buttons at the bottom of the screen. When I import the image it takes up the whole screen and covers up my buttons.
How can i create a GridView that will expand and collapse nested(child) rows based on serial number. +1100,+1200,+1300,+1400 when i click on +1100 sign all the rows 1101,1102,1103.....,1199 should be expanded, when i click sign "-"(minus) the group should collapse.
know in 2008 if you have procedures or functions. that there's a little "-" or "+" that lets you expand and collapse that procedure or function? I was wondering if anyone knew how to create a section so I could collapse it within the procedure? The only way I know it will do it between functions or procedures and things like that but not within the procedure.
I got a combobox that I populate with items by using databinding options which works fine, but what if I only want to only select the distinct items, was trying to do that but no avail so far. if I could do that just by using an sqladapter in code but is that what I should really do ?
We are using the .NET PropertGrid to edit the Usersettings of our application. If we use Strings or integers than it works perfectly. Now we need a propery, we call them "Vendor", that store a GUID of the Vendor from a database. But the user didn?t see the GUID in the PG. he can choose beetwen the venders Names in a combobox. This combobox must be loaded from the database I have start to try to solve that with following
how can i selectively disable propertygrid items, or even categories based on the value of another property? i read somewhere about a typedescriptor but i couldn't find a good example.
Actually, I'm not looking for the way to expand its width.I have a combobox with a given width. It may occur that one row of the data is partially hidden. I'd like to show the whole line by using tooltip or right-click context menu. What do you think? What's the best approach for this scenario? Anyway, I can't find how to 'catch' the row that I'm currently holding on or passing over by mouse.
I have a custom control and have created some properties for it.When I click on that control, its properties are then shown in the PropertyGrid. The problem, is that I only want to show some of the predefined properties as well as my custom properties.Does anyone know how I can filter out the properties I want shown?
I'm trying to add a custom DropDown to the PropertyGrid for a control. I am adding the TrackBar control. It works fine, except, I would like to have the values updated in the PropertyGrid as I move the TrackBar. As it is now, it only updates the PropertyGrid when I finish and click off the TrackBar... I know the problem lies in the Type Editor. How can I get it to allow interim values to be processed. Is there some callback function I can use?
Here is the Type Converter code:
Imports System.Windows.Forms.Design Public Class Slider Private editorService As IWindowsFormsEditorService
What I'm attempting to do is create a Form with two Panels:
Left - A autosizing panel with a dock fill richtextbox
Right - A constant size panel with buttons and features for editing the text
Effect desired: When scaling the size of the form you cannot scale smaller than the initial size of the form, but when expanding the panel on the right is anchored to top right while the richtextbox in the left panel will scale infinitely in either height or width dimensions.
I am sure this is likely some simple property of the textbox or the panel, but cannot seem to locate it. I have the panel on the right anchored at constant size, but cannot seem to get the panel left to autoscale on dimension change.
Ok, So i have googled my ass off looking, I've seen it somewhere were you can make a hyperlink with one line of text so when they click the button it opens that website in there browser and i cant seem to find it, Dose anybody know?.
Next thing, Dose anybody know how to make it so the richtextbox on my page expands when you make the window maximized, I did parent body thing but it covered all the other content on the page :/
1 - Need to create a kind of composite property, like the font property, that it's showed with a plus sign to expand. For example i need to define a new pen, i need to define the color and the width... 2 - I need to define the color for one brush, but if i create a property of the type brush in the PropertyGrid it appears like "System.Drawing.SolidBrush"
I have a class that inherits from control with some custom properties added, and I am using a propertygrid to change the properties at run time. I don't want any of the inherited properties of the control available in the PG so to each of my class properties I amassigning a CategoryAttribute and I am adding the same categories to the PG.BrowsableAttributes collection. When I add a single category to the BrowsableAttributes collection it works fine, but when I add more than one, none of the categories show up in the PG. I am wonding if there is a simple setting in the PG, or if I have missed something setting it all up.
Does anyone know of a way have the PropertyGrid control display a NumericUpDown instead of a DropDown box or text box? One of the properties that I need to capture is an integer and I'd like the user to be able to spin up or down to choose a value instead of typing it in.
I am using an asp.net Datalist control. I have a table titled 'Category' with two columns 'Category Id and Description'. When I display the results on my webpage the 'CategoryId' number comes up and not the Description. I want the Description that corresponds to the number. I want to write it to my label control 'lblCategory'. Using ADO.NET I am having trouble with what to put between:
how to create a sub category in vb.net? well I'm thinking of building a sales and inventory system of computer parts and peripherals and here's the logic. I'll be assigning each of them category like for example:
There you go. and the main categories are: Componenets, Peripherals, Networking and the Subcategories are with the -(dash) on their names if you have an idea also on the database structure please give me also some tips about how to construct the database tables.
The situation is that I have a menu strip on the form from which the user can select an item, which opens a sub-menu, which opens another sub-menu which contains a combo box listing some options.
Eg. File>Project>Load>combo-box control
When the item is selected in the combo box, the code executes and modifies values on the same form, but the menu system does not collapse by itself.
I have to click on the form and then the menu system collapses.
I tried setting the focus to the form, but that does not collapse the menu system.
Does anyone know how to get the menus to collapse automatically?
I'm trying to write a statement where I'll be replacing the name of a category with a new name, but when it comes to executing the command I'm getting an error that says;
I've bee working on a project for quite some time now, and I get tired of scrolling all the way to where I am going to implement new code. I use #Region a lot, but this does not help me within methods, so what I'm wondering is, is there any way to collapse text within methods, or do I have to keep scrolling?
