View 3 RepliesI have a server that exports a file to our server every wed and sat. The file is a .csv file, so I created a batch file to move that to a folder and rename it to .xls. My problem is that there are things on that excel file that that the dealership doesn't want, like a cost column and some other blank ones i need to delete. So I want to write a program that will read that file into the program, delete the columns, and then write it back to file. So when they go into the excel file those columns won't be there. So i have to do this to 3 different ones because there are 3 different dealerships. So far this is what I have. I would like to create this on a Console App, because I want to be able to just run this from the dos prompt, or I think I'm just going to have a schedule run it for me at a specific time on wed and sat. But this was created in the Forms App

View 2 RepliesI'm a beginner, and this is an assignment - I have a form with a menu strip and a listview.I also have a separate class that handles everything.When there is data in the listview, and one row is selected, I need to be able to remove that row when delete is clicked in the menu strip.The code I need to use for the delete is below. I am sucessfully getting pictures and displaying them but having problems deleting them heres everything I am trying to do: frmCapture:Takes pictures from the webcam and stores them in a location with random filenames..User then ends this process by a button which disposes this form and displays the next one below [code]This form then gets all the files in that directory and uses back and forward buttons going through the images in a picture box.When finished the user then hits a close button that displays another form and disposes that one (this new form waits 5 seconds then tries to delete all files in that directory however its getting an access denied because the file is still in use.[code]

I'm writing a program that uses a webbrowser to update a page and gather its data. But it's reloading the page from the cache. I located the cache and quickly found that it cannot be deleted like normal files.
Now i really only need to delete one file, specifically a javascript file, because that's the only thing i need updated. But deleting the cache is proving to be a bigger problem than i thought, let alone deleting a single item from the cache.

what happens is i have a weekly salary table and once a week an administrator computes the salaries and it will be saved there, i want the delete code to delete the already saved record with the same Emp_ID as what i'm trying to save. my problem is i don't think the code i put deletes the record because it will still tell me that there is already an Emp_ID the same with what i'm trying to save..

I'm having an issue trying to pull information from a specific website. I've asked about this once before, but had no luck through searches or responses.In a nut shell, the issue I'm having is trying to pull information from several URLs from a site.When I load the first URL and pull the information, it works just fine. But if I want to pull another from that same site, it acts like it is loading, but doesn't pull the information. In order for me to gather that information, I have to restart the program, but that beats the purpose.So, I wanted to see if the issue was related to cookies or something else the webbrowser control creates when loading a site. If this is the case, I'd like to clear out this information, or at least try it, after each time it pulls the information from the site.

OK, SO i have this program that outputs all the servers on a specific game. It outputs it to a text file. HOWEVER, There is a lot of annoying spaces. This is kind of hard to explain, so ill try to explain it. This is what The text file looks like. [Code]
As you can see, they have these annoying spaces. What I want to do: 1. Get rid of the spaces, BUT KEEP A SPACE BETWEEN THE IP AND THE PORT. 2. After the spaces that are bad are gone, I want the program to output each single IP AND port To its own text Box. It doesn't matter is the textbox of the IP and Port are separated, It can just be one textbox with the IP and port, with a space between them. Thats about it. I have the GUI done, and the rest of the programming, all I need now is this. Reformat without spaces > output each separate line of text to a separate textbox > TYTYTYTY
PS, is there a way for VB to send a command to the command prompt? Say, I wanted it to open a CMD box and send ipconfig into that box, what would that be?

I need to be able to search through a text file and find a line of text, then delete that line and the 7 previous lines and also the line following the searched line. My problem is that my application allows a user to draw a rectangle with their mouse on a picturebox called picimage.
