I have written a program and I think it is fine except for one error. "Variable 'intIndex' hides a variable in an enclosing block". i have a feeling this is something easy but have been trying to fix it and have failed miserably. I'm surprised I have any hair left!

I'm writing in ASP.NET 4 / VB.NET. I need a variable divider ex. i have numbers from my textboxes in the range of 20 to 60 i want a divider that will divide them in a range of 2 to 6 so if the number is the lowest 20 the divider will divide him with the lowest of his range number 2 if the number is 40 the divider will divide him with the number 4 if the number will be 45 the divider will divide 4,5 and so on a variable divider.

I have to define a name for a varying-length column of cells. The name is used later to define the range for a Data Validation List. I just cannot figure out (and the Help Function isn't assisting) how to define the Name, say "DropOrdNum" using a variable as the address for the last cell in the range. It is easy to define a name for "O13:O2000" - no problem, but then I have a whole lot of blanks in my drop-down list. But how do I define a name for "O13:LastCell", by making "LastCell" the Range Variable (am I correct in this) for the address of the last cell in the active range and then defining the name "DropOrdNum" as being the range "O13" to either "O(the row number of the last cell)" or "LastCell", being the address of the last cell in the active range, which varies by the hour?

Now I have the need to get a current value from a bindingsource in a property of a user control.In a previous thread I had tracked down the "Object variable or With block variable not set" to the return in the Get block of a property. At the time I was only using the Set so I just commented out the offending code until I needed it.

The error does not occur during a system compile, only upon saving the container object of the user control. As I said the Set works correctly, only the Get causes the error.I would like to know what I am missing/misunderstanding and am open to other suggestions of handling retrieving the current value of a bindingsource in a user control.

So I created a loop that collects data from the user that runs for a time dictated by the user. It then stores all the data in excel and outputs a graph.The problem I am having is that I cant seem to figure out a way to set the range of the graph for the points taken.since it runs on a loop i have i = i + 1.where the the output into the excel file sequentially writes to the next cell [code]which doesnt seem to work like I would have hoped.Also, there is one other thing that my program keeps doing that I cant seem to figure out.One of the outputs to the excel file is decimal number, it shows perfectly in the textbox, but when I export it to excel it rounds it to the nearest whole number.[code]

I have some code and there are 2 errors which I don't understand I have tried all sorts...
1)The type for variable 'Index' will not be inferred because it is bound to a field in an enclosing scope. Either change the name of 'Index', of use the fully qualified name (for example, 'Me.Index' or 'MyBase.Index').
2)Function 'GetNewPhrase' doesn't return a value on all code paths. A null reference exception could occur at run time when the result is used.

I am trying to figure out why all of the sudden i get an error when trying to run my program. [code]The error i get is highlighted on the frmPM:..An error occurred creating the form. This program was created with vb6 to find and remove empty folders. i converted this program to VB.NET code and it isn't working like it should.. it seems to stop scanning at 'C:\documents and settings' instead of scanning other folders in other directories...Does this code look right? I can provide the entire program if needed... I just want to know why it isn't scanning like it should. Btw im switching from vb6 and trying to learn vb.net.. vb.net is a lot different..

Solution at the bottom. I receive the following error when trying to update records: Must declare Scalar Variable @PaymentTermID Problem is, @PaymentTermID should be defined already in the Update parameters. The 2 functions for onrowdatabound and onrowupdate are tweaked versions of the ones found here for the DropDownList: GridViewRow.DataItem Property. Delete works fine. No new lines are added, just names changed around. I am not exactly used to working with asp objects.
