I've got some temporary files I've created in a folder suffixed with -tdf (stands for to delete file), I'm deleting this file later, but when I check the folder it exists in, it's still there. The code is pretty much this:

For some reason this script doesn't work for me. It get's the proper folder becauseI used Wscript.Echo objFolderItem.Path to print the path but the files are not deleted.

View 2 RepliesI have a VB program that creates a temporay PDF file then opens Outlook and attaches the file. I create the file in hte application path (the location that the program is running from - normally C:Program FilesProgamName This works fine in XP as it appears there are no crazy permission issues. However in Wondows 7, the file does not appear. There are no errors, the file does not exist in that location.
I've changed the path to the root of C:, however this doesn't work either. I suspect it's something to do with W7 virtualisation, so the question is where can I create a file that I can then access again?
I was trying to avoid creating it on a share on a server, but it's looking like this is the only place to put it as there doesn't seem to be many places a user can write files to in Windows 7.
Surely there must be a location that users can access (without being administrators) to create files. Don't even get me started on the fun I have had with the registry in W7!

I have a problem with the temporary internet files. I know how to locate the folder and all the rest, but I'm going to see what second c 'is in the folder with Explorer I see dozens of files, but when I go to see through code, I see only two files, index.dat and desktop.ini. I thought that the index.dat file is a kind of file that contains the files that I see through explorer, but it seems too light, and still do not know how to copy the files it contains.

I need a way to either remap those keys or somehow diable them. I tried the standard remap with regedit but that requires a restart and I want them to be able to still use the keys later.

For some reason I have ended up having filename without extension from my vb.net application but it has period in it.
example "filename." (just a DOT but no extension)
Now the problem is I cannot delete these files and it says could not find file.
I ran into a problem trying to delete certain text files. 99% of the time everything works fine but every once in a while I get a problem trying to delete certain text files. The exception thrown has a lot to say so here's a screen shot of it. :

View 3 RepliesI am writing a simple program that I'm going to use to end a process and then delete a folder with its contents but, I am running into some errors when I try to delete an .dll file using Kill. I would have figured this out on my own but its being weird.
1. If I run the .exe it doesn't delete it and gives me and error
2. I i run the .exe as administrator it doesn't delete it and gives me an error
3. If I run visual basic 2008 as Administrator and then execute the program it works.
4. If I try and execute it again as Administrator under Visual Basic it doesn't work and says I don't have sufficient access.
What I am trying to do is End a Process so that I am able to delete the folder, the folder contains and .dll which is being stuborn and saying I don't have sufficient access to do this.
