VS 2010 - DataTable Visualizer (Date Not In Correct Format)

I have an SQL Database which has some end dates. I have used this little statement to make sure that the dates come out of the database in the right format
Execute("Set dateformat dmy")
And I use the below statement to enter the data in to a datatable and, with the above command, when I go to look at the data in datatable visualiser the dates seem to be in the correct dd/MM/yyyy format
"SELECT CID, expdate FROM Traineecerts WHERE iscurrent = 1"
Now when i try d1 = row("expdate") the format changes to the american MM/dd/yyyy format
Please note d1 refers to a variable with the type of date. Even if I format the dates after using d1 = format(row("expdate"),"dd/MM/yyyy") they don't change unless I make d1 a string. Is this normal?

I have a textbox where a user is supposed to enter a date. How can I check whether the entered date is in the correct date format?
Like this: 02/02/2008
not like this 022/22/-1
not like this 2009/02/02
not like this 02/Jun/2015
not like this 02/abc/2010
(I don't want to use DateTimePicker or MonthCalender).

I am using drupal database in one of my application. Drupal profile saves date in following format:
a:3:{s:5:"month";s:1:"2";s:3:"day";s:2:"18";s:4:"year";s:4:"1995";}
I can read this with data reader but how to convert in a proper display like DD/MM/YYYY or YYYY/MM/DD

Error I keep getting is "Input string was not in a correct format." It is getting this error because of this:

I'm working in visual studio 2005 and developing a windows form that has a datagridview on it.
One of the cells is a Calendar Column type (custom made). I pulled the code for it off the internet - it basically allows the user to select the date from a small calendar.
When the date is changed, it gets the correct value and it also saves into the database with the correct value.
The problem is that it doesn't load onto the grid with the correct value. In fact, no matter what date I enter in, it always displays it as 1 day earlier. e.g. If I saved it to the database as 4/19/2012, it displays it as 4/18/2012.
I verified that there's no other column in the query that retrieves the data for the grid that contains the value it's displaying.

I'm using VS in Vista. I have using a DataBase in SQL2008 which its date format is year,month,day. In my app I have the date format as Format(Now, "d") which shows 13/12/2009 but when inserted it displays as 1900-01-01 in the DataBase. I'm creating a VB app that uses the Infragistics UltraGrid to display data from 2 JD Edwards files. Before the data is displayed, first I need to convert 2 date fields that are in JD Edwards Julian date format (i.e., 111158 for 6/07/11....the 158th day of this year) to mmddyy format.

We have a field called employee number in our database. It is char(10) field. we are storing the numbers right justified. so we are storing the numbers as "1", " 2" etc. I am not sure why we started doing this because it happened before I started working here.
Because of this, each function in the business logic that has an employee number as one of the parameters needs to right justify the number. If we forget that, it won't update the database properly.
My question is: Is there a better way to do this so that we don't have to format the number in each function?

I'm having an issue with a page I created that was working fine two months ago. Nothing has changed in structure of the SQL tables and I have even done an insert within SQL to the table and all works fine with SQL. So the problem lies within the code. I'm getting this error:
Input string was not in a correct format.

If I comment out line 73 and run it, I get the same error on 74. If I comment out 73, 74 and 75 the code runs to the end fine, it just doesn't insert the data into my table. It was working just fine and now it's not working.

Making a currency conversion program and I'm trying to run this code and I get an error saying that "Format exception unhandled: Input String is not in correct format". Then it points me to the line decUSDollars = Convert.ToInt32(strUSDollars) under Private Sub btnConvertButton_Click. I've looked all in my textbook and I can't figure it out.

My error message is as listed in the header "Input string was not in a correct format" however the stack trace is even more cryptic [code]...
This is worse due to the fact that nowhere in the project does it use "ParseDouble". I believe that this has something to do with the objectfactorylibrary but can't pin anything down.

With the following snippet
Foo = IIf(String.IsNullOrEmpty(txtFoo.Text), 0, Integer.Parse(txtFoo.Text.Trim))
I get the error when I submit the field without a value: "Input string was not in a correct format." I don't have any space or something else and String.IsNullOrEmpty(txtFoo.Text) returns true.
