I am trying to create a form to filter information from 3 different tables with 3 drop down lists.
Is there anyway i can select the information from 2 lists and ignore the 3rd?
FilterExpression="First_Name like '{0}%' and Award_Title like '{2}%' and CONVERT(Year, 'System.String') like '{1}'">
But I can only filter with the First name and Year - it seems to ignore the Award.
Background - I'm trying to populate a drop down list with state information from a database. I'd like the full state name to be the option and the state abbreviation to be the value. Example:
<option value="AL">ALABAMA</option>
Current Progress - The full state names and abbreviations already exist in the DB. I've successfully populated the DDL with full state names from the DB. Here's the code I've used to do this (minus stuff I've deemed irrelevant).Model Context (generated from template):

Question - In addition to populating full state names like I've done above, I'd also like to populate the value of the select options in the same DDL with the state abbreviations in my DB/model. How is this done?
I was thinking of using a dropdownlist showing all names. But is it possible to have a dropdownlist showing a datagridview showing more details such as names, address and telephne number of the person?
View 2 RepliesI'm pretty new to visual basic .net (have been a hobby VB6 developer for a few years) but now i have moved on to vb.net and i must just say it, what a difference in the language!So im trying to make a program that connects to several websites and parses some information out and then add the information to a listview list. The listview have 2 columns: Site and Nuts. So i load a bunch with urls in the site columns (that isnt a problem) but the problem is to take 5 websites at the same time and connect to them and then write "OK" in the Nuts columns.

I'm having issues with finding something in list, and removing the item, ignoring the case of characters in string.
The code goes:

Here I'd like to remove all items from listItems, that are abc, no matter what case single characters of item are, including mixed case items. So in this example, every items should be removed
listItems.Remove(listItems.Find(Function(r) r = pattern))
If I change pattern to match the case of item, then item #2 gets removed:
pattern = "abc"
listItems.Remove(listItems.Find(Function(r) r = pattern))
How can I find item in listItems, ignoring the case characters in pattern?

I am trying to compare a calculated date with a value in a dropdown list. The value is a date.toString.This is what I have so far:

Holidays is a dropdown list bound to a database so that I can add a day to a scheduledate if it happens to fall on a holiday. This works if I add a string value to sched rather than converting scheduledateval to a string.
I'm creating a simulation programe. In one sheet I have a group of cells (AngleConf) that have a drop down list. I would like to make some operations when I change the value of one of these cells. It always works when I insert the new value manually. But it doesn't always works when I change it by selecting the value from the list. This is turn populates my dropdownlist, when a user selects a value, it is then populated to the remaining textboxes on the remaining forms with a session call...

In order to prevent users from typing just anything into the text box above the combo box, I changed it to a drop-down listbox. The other requirement that I was hoping to implement was for the user to be able to type a number, after which the selection would jump to the appropriate item (i.e. the user types in '1', and the selection jumps to 12). This partially works. It will jump to 12, for example, but immediately after the user types the '1', the Selected Index event changes. The user cannot scroll down or up after typing in a number.
