i want to write a code that user can drag and drop an icon to layout which this layout become consist of coordinate (x,y) and when icon was dropped to layout by right click appear a menu.
View 4 RepliesI am currently making a 2d game where a spaceship flies around a 2d map.Currently, I am moving the ship with keys, but would like to implement mouse clicking as well.I am wanting to enter an x and y coordinate and have the ship move to that coordinate.
These are my variables:

I have written some Makros and Functions in VB all code works fine behind my Document. To save my code and make it available to other users I want to create a COM-add-in for VIsio. So i bought Visual Studio 2008 and I want to import my code to it.
Is it possible to include my exported .cls file to my Visual Studio COM-Add-on Projekt?
How do I make my application open a file that is dragged over the applications icon? I am planning on being able to drag an XML file and the application goes into an import mode to create a new record in the DB. I think I may need to have an identifier in the header of the file such as ClientImg or the likes so that the App looks for that to let it know it is the proper file type. Note to JMC: I would look this up, but I do not know what it is called

and I have encountered the exact same problem, that the desktop shortcut icon created by the Setup program does not work when dragging and dropping a file (in this case an Access-database) onto it,
while a shortcut manually created works just fine.
I do not understand the answer in the above thread. But, anyway I would like to find a way to solve the problem directly, preferably through the Setup program itself.
I want to add a reference to Visio Viewer 2010 to my toolbox so I can add it to a Windows Form I am developing (not a web form). I went thru both the .NET and COM references to select the option, but it does not seem to be listed anywhere.

View 1 RepliesThis project is based on a MUD, or at least originates from playing them. I have an ascii map where each character represents a type of terrain. I have found code for reading one line at a time, but I need to not only dictate which line to be read, but how many characters in to the line to read. Basically trying to make a grid/coordinate system, where I can tell it my location is 4, 7 and the program will read the fourth line, seventh character.
View 3 RepliesBasically what I want to do is create a program that every now and then (maybe 10 minutes) switches between either, all the windows currently open, or a selection of all the windows currently open, then checks the colour of a location on the screen. At the moment I have the program checking the colour at a specific coordinate, so that's all good. The problem I have now is how to switch between windows.
I've thought up a few ways to do this. The windows that I care about checking all have the same name, the same process class, but different process IDs. I already managed to stick all the process IDs into an array of integers hoping that I could use them but I don't have a clue how to bring a window to front using just the process ID. So the first method would work if I could figure out a way to do that.
My second idea, which is a pretty rubbish way of doing it, would be to simply simulate pressing Alt+Tab however many times to change between windows.
This is kind of an off-the-wall question but does anyone know if VS 2010 has somekind of utility that will allow you to just drag & drop controls onto a form or something that will help in visual design. I'm just talking for visual purposes only. No code-behind files or anything...almost like a canvas where you can place controls and labels, etc.
View 8 RepliesSo when I make changes to my form in VS2010 professional (writing in VB.net) and hit debug, the instance of my form that pops up doesn't include the changes i make. I have to hit Rebuild Application everytime before I run the debugger and its extremely frustrating. I reset all settings and nothing seems to work.

View 4 RepliesThe Window Layout setting seems to have gone away in VS 2010. I'd rather my environment default to Multiple Documents. I really can't stand Tabbed. Tabs are good for browsers and cell phones, but not so good for a programming IDE.

I found this MDI Tab Control, and thought that it would make this task easier to accomplish and be useful in other aspects of my project. I am at a pause. I have a menu strip with an engine item, and within that I have Layoutengine1 and Layoutengine2. I want it so that when someone is browsing the web using Layoutengine1, and they want to switch to Layoutengine2, that all they have to do is click the Layoutengine2 button and all the tabs that they currently have open would be using Layoutengine2 instead of the previous Layoutengine1.

View 2 RepliesIm a newb so if I word this a little funny im sorry. I am using VB.net 2005 developer edition and Im trying to import a layout of a conveyor belt system onto a screen. We will be using the screen to show status on motor overloads and devices attached to the conveyor. For example here is a jpeg of one of the screens I would like to make:
We will have to change the color of the symbols when the are active or non active. Also, we want to have the ability to scroll over the symbols and have a message box pop up and tell the status. I am just trying to figure out the most logical way of doing this. I can change the file format of the drawing to Jpeg or bitmap or even PDF.

I am able to get the files.I have 2 columns "filename" & "readonly"
a) how can I filter just .dwg
b) how can I get readonly a tag that says "yes" into datagridview, so I can see which files are set to readonly.
c) I will be launching the list of files through autocad (I know the process.start method to launch, is there any way I can launch then via desktop shortcut, the reason I ask is there is a script file attached to the shortcut, which amends the drawing when autocad is launched:

I am trying to open a dwg file in vb.net forms without opening a autocad application But tere occur a problem : The specified module could not be found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007007E).Also i want to edit the image in dwg file i.e most probably a factory layout & store information about object used in layout to figure out the best possible way to reach from source to destination.This factory layout map is input for a robot which will move according the path avaiable.
View 1 RepliesI have made a userform in AutoCAD, I made some buttons where I want to start software from.The programm I want to run is started by an VBScript from the manufacturer.When I double click the VBScript the program starts, but trying to execute if from a button_click on my AutoCAD userform it returns that I am missing MSVCR70.dll files.The missing file is in the folder of the program I want to run, aswel in my System32 folder.I tried to execute it the next ways:

I am using Excel 2007, VS2008 Pro.I am building a VSTO Add-in that requires "drag and drop from Excel cells to a drag-enabled task pane".So far I notice that I can only drag and drop within the cells themselves.
