I have been asked by a friend to make a basic timer that counts down from 3 mins and 1 mins intervals but at the end of it i have a Critical message box pop up with the sound to alert him that the time is up.i have set it so that once ok on the msg box is pressed the timer restarts..I am Just wondering if there is a way to just make sound for x seconds then the timer restarts without any button pressing?[code]
View 2 RepliesI'm running VS2010 4.0.30319 SP1. My WPF project runs once in the debugger, then won't run again unless I wait 30-60 seconds. I've found that in Task Manager, there is an associated vshost32.exe process that starts when I first load the project. It remainswhile the project is running, but exits when I close my app. After 30-60 seconds, the vshost32.exe reappears and I'm able to restart my app. But until vshost32.exe reappears, my app will not run.

I want to create an array of timer in vb.net. My problem is that how will i raise the tick event for a particular timer, say mytimer(x).tick and inside the tick event there is also a button, say mybutton(x) which changes location every interval. for example:

I'm close to getting this to work, but currently can't get any output to display in the listbox. I had it working, but needed to move some things around to get the join function to work.In my program, a user enters input into a textbox and an array is displayed in a listbox based on what they type in. For example, if they type in "a", all foods (in the textfile that is connected to the program) that start with "a" will be displayed.
When there is output, I need to find a way to name this array (which is created based on what the user inputs) and join all of the items in the listbox (example: foods stacked on top of each other in the listbox will be shown at the bottom as a string).I am posting the code that I have thus far; all of the errors that I'm getting (and potentially my logic errors) are just in the first public class until the end of the first if-next statement:

I Set the interval for 30 sec and the first visit should be right now, not after 30 seconds.
After that, wait 30 sec and navigate to another one (in a listbox). The problem is that the Timer is not waiting that time after the first visit.[code...]
I have an application that I'm writing that needs to run 3 different Timers. One that will run every 5 minutes, 1 that will run every hour and 1 that has to run once a day sometime after 5:00 P.M. I know that I can seperate the application into 3 seperate applications and use Windows Scheduled Tasks to perform this however I would prefer to have everything in 1 application and just run the different Sub/Functions off of the appropriate Timer. I'm trying also figure out a way to avoid 2 timers firing at the same time.
What i would like to do is tell the 5 minute timer to run say 2 minutes after every 5 minute mark in the our so the first one would be at 12:07 and then the next would be at 12:12 and so on. The hour timer should run sa at 12:20. The daily one run at say 5:31.Is it possible to use the System.timer or the System.Threading.timer in this way?

This code will create several tables in the dataset: one of them is "Adv" table, which contains ALL "adv"s from BOTH "orders". This is not what I want.I can handle this by just reading it as a text file - line by line... But I believe this is not the correct way to do this, since there are many tools in VS to do this (right?) ... and also, maybe I can learn something from this "chalange" This is when I ask for your support.
