Is there a way I can hook into MSN and write to my contacts, without having the conversation window in the front? a API or something?

Specifically:
1)Bring Contacts in Custom App over to Outlook
2)Keep info on those contacts syncronized in Outlook and Custom App
3)Ignore contacts that are in Outlook but not in Custom App(ie do NOT bring them into custom App)
i want to use window form application to write this game?

This does work, if just, let's say have forms open, but it doesn't when I minimize everything & get to the desktop (with that taskbar button). It also returns 1400 error a lot, even with running as administrator.
So I have this code to make a "windows taskbar". When you click on an item, it's supposed to bring that window to the front. The only problem is that's not happening. When I use Debug.WriteLine, it has the right window title, except it doesn't come to the front. What's wrong? There is no EntryPointNotFoundException or anything, it just doesn't bring the window to the front.

What code in VB.net 2010 do I need to set a window to come to the front of the screen. What I am trying to achieve is to display an urgent alert type, its a form, for certain reasons I am not using message box.

I used to use VB gazzillion years ago and decided to have a look at MSVB 2010 Express.I want to write Database front end and fallen at the first fence.In the ol' days I used to add a data control (tool) of which the main property was 'data source' (address of a database)I cant see how to do this in 2010 - I have added a 'Binding Navigator' but cant see where to link it to my database

I used a picturebox to allow user draw lines by mouse. I used this code in mouse down:

but when a window appear on front of picturebox... its seams that picturebox redraw itself, so drawn lines erased.
My Front end is VB.net 2008.I have a form. In this form, I have a menu control, this menu control has four buttons.On clicking the first three buttons, open the window with Show() event. and the fourth button open the screen with ShowDialog().Now, One by one I am clicking the button , so finally i have now four windows of this application.(Three with Show() and one with ShowDialog())Right?
Now I am minimizing all the windows with the help of Window + D Button.After this, If I use the keyboard(Alt+ Tab) keys. This is opening the showDialog window on top because , Show dialog's TopMost = True.Now I come back to my problem. That's why I cannot use the show/Showdialog overloaded menthod to pass the Me/form-id .Again, I use the keyboard(Alt+ Tab) keys, to minimized all windows. In the taskbar and Startmenu properties ,I have selected the Group Similar Taskbar buttons.This resulted in the heap of my application windows, one on the other.Now i click on one of my application window , and If I click the window other then the Show Dialog opened Window, this is not bringing the show dialog window to topMost.
Note:- There is no parent child window requirement. That's why I can't use the Show/Show Dialog overloaded method to pass the Me/Form-id

I have a program that u record your clicks then you press a button (Ctrl + E) then it plays them back. What I want is for Ctrl+E to stop them, It would work but it seems like its being overpowered by the mousemoving and clicking. The keyhook did already work before I started on the playback part.

View 1 RepliesI have several windows open: VB, IE, Explorer... If I happen to close one accidentally, or on purpose, and reopen it, the buttons on the task bar are all messed up. I get used to them one way and I am constantly switching between the windows.Here is my question: Would I be able, in VB, to 'hook' the taskbar and be able to rearrange the buttons?I have no idea what to search for in Google. I happened upon a program once a while back, A REAL LIFE SAVER!. I could just click and drag the buttons using that one.

public delegate string GetSettingDelegate(string key);
public event GetSettingDelegate GetSettingEvent;
public delegate void SetSettingDelegate(string key, string value);
public event SetSettingDelegate SetSettingEvent;
In a VB class I add handlers to the event:
AddHandler _gisCtrl.SetSettingEvent, AddressOf SetSetting
AddHandler _gisCtrl.GetSettingEvent, AddressOf GetSetting
When I try and remove the handlers:
RemoveHandler _gisCtrl.SetSettingEvent, AddressOf SetSetting
RemoveHandler _gisCtrl.GetSettingEvent, AddressOf GetSetting
SetSetting is OK but GetSetting throws a warning:
The AddressOf expression has no effect in this context because the method arguments to AddressOf requires a relaxed conversation to the delagate type of the event.

How to fix this and why it is thrown in the first place? The 2 delegates/events/methods look similar enough that I don't know why one is OK and one throws a warning.

View 2 Repliesworking with dates has always been a tricky part so let me show you how I handle dates in my application and please could you show how do you handle dates and also feel free to criticise. Normally I would create out a system to be able to save and then load a date note I am using a varchar(50) on my SQL Server db rather than datetime but I understand this is wrong, that's why I am looking for a decent way to work the dates out. My system has worked for me fine so far but if I would have to sort the dates ascending or descending I think I would get into trouble because it is saved as text.
