VS 2010 - Want 12 Hour Time, With Out Showing AM Or PM?

That is my issue. It's giving me 24 hour time, and I want 12 hour time, with out showing AM or PM.

May 6, 2009I wrote a VB.NET Windows Service, which works fine. I have only one issue with it. I want the service to execute on the half hour and top of the hour marks (e.g. 9:00, 9:30, 10:00, 10:30, 11:00, etc etc etc). I am using the following code:

This code works, however, if the service starts at, say, 10:15, then it executes at 10:15, 10:45, 11:15, 11:45. How do I make it so it always executes on the 30 minute and top of the hour marks?

My program iwll bem inimized and the timer will be running while the application is in the notification area, Then of course when it reaches the time, The ballon pops up saying "Your break is getting close" but everytime I close my application the Notification pops up instantly.

Time For Showing Splash Screen Is Not Enough?
Oct 29, 2005I made this splash screen and since I just started working on my project, the app takes less than two seconds to load and the time for splash screen is not enough? I have tried to put System.Threading.Thread.Sleep(5000)but where? I put it in the code of the splash screen, then it waits 5 seconds before showing the splashscreen and I put it in the main program, then the splash screen is out THEN it waits 5 seconds after the splash screen is gone then it loads.

- form1: IsMDIForm = true.
- form2: adding a list view with 2 records, select first record, and register the event ItemSelectionChanged.
- Add form2 as a child of form1 (form2.MDIParent = form1).
- When use "form2.Show()" -> the event ItemSelectionChanged firing three time:
+ 1st: SelectedItem = 1
+ 2nd: SelectedItem = 0
+ 3rd: SelectedItem = 1
I want to know the rootcause (not Solution) of thi issue, can anyone help me !?

VS 2010 Comparing Current Time To Stored Time?
Mar 27, 2011I'm writing a report scheduler that is somewhat of a clone to the backupexec scheduler and the layout can be seen in post #10 here: [URL]..It works great and saves/edits/deletes records just fine, but now i need to compare those records one at a time in a windows service that i'm writing in order to trigger automated report creation and emailing - i already have the report and i already have the code for the emailing, i'm just looking for the most efficient way to loop through the table (that i've pulled in to a dataset) and compare its records with the current date and time - if true, the event fires.

My service checks the database every thirty seconds.The english version of what i'm trying to do is "Connect to the database, grab the entire table (it will always only have 5-6 entries max, so i felt 30 second sweeps was okay), and If today is the 1st Sunday of the month, and it is currently 11:00:00 a.m. (could be any day or time, this is just an example) - loop through the dataset to identify if any records match the time field or greater - if they do, fire the report

Sep 7, 2011For a class project I'm supposed to write a program that requests a team as input and displays the players from that team in the first column. The players should be sorted alphabetically by their last name, and if they have the same name they should be sorted by first name accordingly. My program compiles and I'm fairly certain that I've done most of it correctly. The second column should be filled with the batting average of the corresponding player from the left column.
My problems are as follows:
1) I can't get the DGV output to show correctly, it posts the player's name with the batting average of that player in the following downward cell.
2) I'm not sure how to further use the .Split method to separate the first and last name after already separating the name from team/at bats/hits, and can't find any info regarding this topic. Also, I can't figure out how to sort in reverse, I've only seen the Ascending and Descending options so far for sorting.
3) Is the way I've figured the batting average the most efficient/correct way, or is there another better way?

VS 2010 - Delay When Showing TabPage
Feb 20, 2011In my program I have a tab control with 4 tab pages. In the second tab page there is a lot of controls (about 50! includes buttons, labels, combo boxes, textboxes, option boxes). When user opens the program and want to navigate to tabpage 2 there is about 2-3 second delay showing tabpage. This problem only occur the first time, after that it just shows the page fine. I am not sure what is causing this lag but the program seems buggy and slow to user.

I want to have the data from a single row shown in text boxes and the multiple rows show in a datagridview is it possible to hide/show those depending on the amount of rows.
