Webbrowser Navigate Via A Text Line Double-Clicked In A Richtextbox?
Apr 14, 2012
I would like for my program to open up a new form (It will be in Form4 webbrowser) and the form will navigate via the text line that was double-clicked in a RichTextBox1. Here is an illustration showing what I'm trying to accomplish:
Here is the code that I have so far:
Private Sub RichTextBox1_MouseDoubleClick(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.MouseEventArgs) Handles RichTextBox1.MouseDoubleClick
Form4.Show()
Form4.WebBrowser1.Navigate("http://www.google.com/search?q=" & "THIS IS THE AREA OF CODE THAT I NEED TO MAKE THE RICHTEXTBOX1 CLICKABLE!!!" )
End Sub
I built an app in VB 2008 Express.I have published it by using the Publish tab of the project properties dialog. In other parts of the publish dialog, I have successfully associated a file extension (.xyz) with my app. To finally publish it, I click the Publish Now button, not the Publish Wizard. The app publishes fine, and after installing it by clicking on the resulting Setup.exe file, it runs fine. The app creates a .xyz file (essentially a text file). I then close the app. In Windows Explorer, I can see the .xyz file with my custom icon. When I double click on the .xyz file, my app starts up.So far so good.
Now I need to implement reading the contents of the .xyz file in my main form's load event.I thought it was going to be easy by following a snippet to read the command line, and with the knowledge that the filename clicked on is the first argument (item 0 of the argument collection). So I started testing like this:
Dim strMessage As String strMessage = "Count: " & My.Application.CommandLineArgs.Count & vbCrLf For Each argument As String In My.Application.CommandLineArgs[code]....
So, is the method I'm using to deploy considered Click Once? Note that I am not online-enabling anything, so I am hoping I don't need to get into the ActivationUri learning curve, which seems to be about URL's.How can I simply get the name of the associated file double clicked on into my VB.net app?
I want to make something that can on button click navigate to a page, wait the time I specified and navigate to another page.. [CODE...]
This does not do what I thought it would do..I think that the problem is that when it sees System.Threading.Thread.Sleep(5000) everything stops for 5 secs .How can I make it go to google.com and then after 5 seconds, yahoo?
How can i use webbrowser1.navigate to get the adress from 3 differen text boxes and combine them in to one adress,, example textbox1.text contains [URL]
my webbrowser is getting better and better. Now, I have a minor proplem I tried to fix, but it will not work.
I am using this code to open a new window in my browser instead of the default, but when it opens the new window, it navigates to "about:blank" how can I get it to navigate to the site clicked?
Private Sub WebBrowser1_NewWindow(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.ComponentModel.CancelEventArgs)
I have a button that append a sentence with some strings in it to a richtextbox. Everytime I click the button it appends a new line and then appends the text again till i eventually hit the bottom and beyond of my richtextbox. how to add my line as LINE 1 in my richtextbox and moving the earlier appended text down.
I have a RichTextBox in a VB2008 Windows Form application. The RichTextBox has tabs set at 250 and 400. The following code snippet is used to populate the RichTextBox using the result of a LINQ query.
I've noticed that most of the time it takes several mouse clicks to highlight a desired line of text in the RichTextBox. Is there some code that will allow selecting the entire line that a user clicks on? The length each line in the RichTextBox is not the same.
I have a richtextbox control. It contains many lines of text (multiline is enabled). My goal is: When user clicks with right-click mouse, I'd like to display all the text of the line where the cursor is. I'm using this method to get the cursor's line: Dim line As Integer = RichTextBox1.GetLineFromCharIndex(RichTextBox1.SelectionStart) But how do I get the text of the line? Should I copy the whole text to a string array , and then just print the relevant line item?
I would like for my program to navigate via textbox1.text with multiple lines and multiple url links inside of it. I know how to make the webbrowser1.navigate via textbox1.text with multiple lines, however I want my webbrowser to navigate to each url every 1-1.5 seconds once button1 is clicked. Yes, my webbrowser1 will navigate to the specified urls via the textbox1.text (multilines) with a button click, but I need the webbrowser1 to navigate in a order sequence from top to bottom of Textbox1.text (multiplelines) every 1 second. Here is the current code that I have to navigate via multilined textbox1.text control in order sequence:
When i am receiving server responses some are to long for the RTB so obviously continue on the next line. Each line is time stamped. If the word is to long it looks as follows:
15:00 this is a long message 15:01 another message and so on
what i would like is for the new line to be indented to under the text above so it does not wrap directly under the time stamp. [Code]
I am reading text from a file (*.TXT) 1 line at a time using streamreader. As I read that input, I am looking for specific starting and ending character strings ("<" and ">") . When I find those strings, I would like to select the characters between those string and have it set to BOLD and BLUE before appending that input line to the contents of a richtextbox. The only way I have found to do this is to first append the input line to the richtextbox then use the richtextbox.selection (color and font) methods to change the text.
I am trying to build a language tool, basically I am getting lines of text into a richtextbox and playing the audio for that line. Things are working great except that I want to highlight the text being played and autoscroll when it plays the next line. how to implement the line highlighting and autoscrolling.
i've made a little app that opens .txt files kind of a replacement for notepad now i have set the install package in visual studio to associate .txt with my app however when i double click on .txt files my app opens but blank. so i'm assuming i've gotta code something to get it to open the clicked on file but.... haven't got a clue where to look for inspiration or code i can "borrow" and chop to fit my needs. i assume it's got to be in the load section of the program.[code]
How can I find out what they double clicked. I have a pie chart and I would like to know which piece of the pie they clicked on. I am using a Zed Graph chart.

I have a webbrowser on my windows form and a text box above that with a go button. The webrowser is a search page.Is what I would like to do is type something in the textbox and hit GO and it will search for that word in the webbrowser. The search is setup to where if you were to set the url as it would bring up the results for "keyword"Is there a way with the navigate function to do something like.[URL]..basically I need a way to append the text from the textbox at the end of the url.
Private Sub ComboBox1_SelectedIndexChanged(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles ComboBox1.SelectedIndexChanged Browser.Navigate(ComboBox1.SelectedItem)
I'm working on a webcrawler in VB.net, and using the System.Forms.WebBrowser object for handling navigation on sites that use javascript or form posts, but I'm having a problem. When I navigate backwards (WebBrowser.GoBack()) to a page that was loaded with a form post, the page has expired and I have to do a refresh to resend the request. When I call a refresh (WebBrowser.Refresh()), a dialog box pops up to confirm. Is there a way I can get around this modal dialog in code?
I'm using a webbrowser control to pull some information from a website. It works fine.I load the web page when the user clicks a button and then I pull the information from the site when the page completely loads. I have this bit of code in the DocumentComplete event.I am doing this for two different websites. So, my code as it is, looks something likes this:
vb.net
Private Sub btnStart_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnStart.Click WebBrowser1.Navigate("http://www.website.com") End If[code].....
If I add a second Navigate to the same WebBrowser control, and then add another Document. GetElementById line, using different variables, it doesn't work. Its obvious that it loads both sites and then it finishes. So, it never has time to finish the first load and then pull the info into the text box.Is there a way to do this? To load the first site, pull the info, load the second site, then pull the info from there?
I need to send a pdf file to a web page in VB.net. I found that there is a webbrowser control and I should be able to use the navigate() method to do it.However, there is no sample for doing so.
