Is there a way in VB.net to save a Word document as a different format (i.e. Me.Application.ActiveDocument.SaveAs) without switching to it? For example, if the current document is an unsaved, I want to save an copy of that document as HTML but still keep the unsaved document active.

On the last line I receive "could not open macro storage" error on deployed machines (not on my development machine).I develop with Windows 7 - Office 2010 - VS 2010 (.Net 3.5). My deployment machine is also a Windows 7 with Office 2010 installed.I tried to remove normal.dotm (I found some links advicing it) without success. The .dot template used contains no macro.

In an Word addin, I'm using

to get a list of all the words in the curret document. Now when I parse this list, I found the ,, . and are also in this list. Why is Word considering these words? I also looked at the word count in the status bar and that was wrong too, as for 7 words in my document the status bar shows 9 words.
I'm have a program (GUI) that interfaces with excel to execute macros. We're using Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel to call/run the macros and this works great.What I can't figure out is a good way to cancel the macros from the GUI.One idea we had was to use the excel.application variable that runs the macros to write a "stop" value to a specific cell in the workbook, and in the macros (they are all mostly loops), check for the "stop" value in that cell. This crashes my GUI with this The program '[2188] BVLReports.vshost.exe: Managed' has exited with code -336589910 (0xebf00baa).And excel gets tied up, and won't respond. I know how to Exit Sub from within the macro if the "stop" value exists, so I don't need answers on how to check/cancel from inside the macro. Any ideas on a better way to write this "stop" value or a better way to cancel the macros externally?

Scenario One: Single Selection.The application loads the selected web pages and parse's the content, this could take a short time, or it can take a few minutes.No problem here. I am using a BackgroundWorker to perform the parse.
Scenario Two: Multiple Selection
My query relates to a method that I can employ to deal with iteration of the CheckedListBox to process the next selected web page back on the UI.
I need to wait till the BW has finished before we can move on to the next page.I'm sure the above example is not best practice to hold up the UI's iteration of the CheckedListBox, until the current web page is processed.
I have a label that is supposed to display a word for 5 seconds and then move down the list in a text file and display the next word.I'm oddly able to make it work in random mode, but not going down the list in order.. random would be ok if used words didn't come up again.

Inside the combobox, the data inside is laid out like this: 41-1A-1303: EXPIRED REGISTRATION Now, autocomplete works fine, if I start typing in the statute (like the 41 part). But what I need is for it to autocomplete based of whats after the: So if I type in EX, then everything starting with EX pops up.

The form collects the entered data and then emails it, that part works fine.Right after it gets emailed, this code checks to see if the email was sent or not and then updates the landing page accordingly. I have heard of setting server specs to have HTML pages parsed as PHP pages by changing the .htaccess or httpd.conf files. Is there a similar solution to have HTML pages parsed as ASPX pages?
A website I am working on does not want their PageRank to lower since their HTML pages are already indexed and used on other websites but wants to use some dynamic features of aspx pages (like include the navigation file so that changes to the nav will only have to be done in that one file).

View 2 RepliesI've not really got a lot of experience making any games, but currently I've only made small basic games which involve, moving picture boxes with Case (KeyDown) events and timers etc, I've noticed a few problems such as, flickering and jittery movements as it += on to Top or left. Especially when I try it on other computers it varies and is sometimes really bad. I've heard from my lecturer that you can use other things in VB.NET such as GDI+ or GDK or whatever, I'm not really sure, but would someone be able to explain to me what other ones there are for VB.NET or the best method for me to do to move on to more effective ways of creating a graphical interface.

Before I start reading in the data I have unknown number of these entries (ID and ID2 can be at least as high as 99999999)
Then I have a second data set of format ID2 here is the same as in the set 1 and it can contain several PID entries (all integers). In this set the ID2 is unique and again for one ID2 there can be unknown amount of these PIDs, same PID can occur more than once.

I am a self taught "developer".I use the term loosely because I only know enough to make myself dangerous. I have no theory background, and I only pick up things to get this little tool to work or make that control do what I want.
That said, I am looking for some reading material that explains some of the theory behind application development especially from a business standpoint. Really I need to understand what all of these terms that float around really talk about. Business Logic Layer, UI abstraction level and all that. Anyone got a reading list that they feel helped them understand this stuff? I know how to code stuff up so that it works. It is not pretty mostly because I don't know the elegant way of doing it, and it is not planned out very well (I also don't know how to plan an application).
