View 2 RepliesSo I've got this context menu working out except that the event behind the actual selection of the menu item seems to fire multiple times. First time I click it, it fires once, then twice, then 3 times. So, in the example I just gave, for 3 clicks it would have fired a total of 6 times (1 + 2 + 3). Why is that?

VB express 2008 .net 3.5 or .net 4.0 VB express 2010?I have written application to convert RTF to HTML. The main Purpose of the application is to copy VS code to the clipboard and covert it then put it back into the clipboard as a HTML Document so that it can be pasted into a HTML document such as Windows Live Mail. I found that code copied and pasted is spaced out in in the wrong positions.
The applications works perfect with no bugs so far. I then asked Myself how to go about doing the copy with the least amount of operator interaction. So I added an Icon to the Icon Tray with a right click menu to use to convert once the Rich Text Format was copied to the clipboard. This works fine except you have Five steps, Select the text, Copy to clipboard, Right Click the icon, Select the Converter and Paste. The normal is three steps.
To this the best solution is to add a context menu item to the active form such as the RTF editor or window. So that when you select the Rich Text to copy and right click on the form to bring up that menu then to Just Select the menu Item such as "Copy RT and Convert" I searched and found about 544000 Items and tried to restrict down to no avail. I read until I finally gave up. I did not find any code examples of this. Almost every thing I found related to the web or some other explicit document like Excel and not to the Various windows that could be active with RT in it.
how do you add a context menu item to the context menu of an active rich text format window such as WordPad or VB?I have test in my application that tests to see if it is a RTF in the clipboard so if it is not the converter does nothing.

View 3 RepliesI am creating a VBA application using Excel 2007 and would like to make virtually all of the standard Office and Excel menus invisible to the user and present to the user only my custom menu controls. I have been successful in doing this for all objects on the Ribbon as well as those on the Microsoft Office Button Menu, with the exception of the "recently opened files list" box, that also has the "Excel Options" and "Exit Excel" buttons on it. Can anyone tell me the name of the object for this control so that I can make it invisible?

I have a vb.net application that uses Flash movies (AxShockwaveFlashObjects.AxShockwaveFlash). I have buttons in the flash movie. When they first start using the application, they can single click on the buttons in the flash movie and button responds accordingly. But after a while (and I haven't been able to pin-point an exact thing that changes it or my issue would be solved), the user has to double-click on the button in the flash movie for them to work.

Renders to the page as a button of lets say cancel after the user clicks it i want to catch the click event (within the server control) and now after the click makeing the button not visible and makeing some kind of content placeholder (that will render from the server control) visible. that content place holder will have 2 buttons inside of it: yes and cancel. I want the programmer that adds this control to be able to register a function to the click event of the yes button. and the second cancel confirmation button should make the first button appear agian. (i know how to do this all in the client side but this time i need it all as server events)
My question is this: how do i catch the click event? i want it all to be handled inside the server control itself. so a programmer that adds this control wont have to worry about anything but just needs to register to the click event of the "yes" button.
I am writing an Automation program to control an MS Acces applcation. Here is the sequence of events:
- Load MS Access Database (Done)
- Load an MS Access form (Done)
- Take dates from Main.VB and populate 2 fields in MS Access form (done)
- Load another MS Access form called Stage_2 (Done)
- Load a file name into a filed in the Stage_2 form (Done)
- Do a click event in MS Access linked to a button called Pre_Stage_copy on Stage_2 form (How do I do these?)

I have a list box with multi-select enabled, I wanted to add a right click menu to it so I added a ContextMenuStrip and linked it to the list box. Issue is I can't figure out how to determine what item in the list was the one right clicked on to bring up the menu. It won't necessarily be one that's highlighted. Using VB 2010 Express
