i have a windows form application with a textbox and 2 listboxes on it. The program is designed where i type in a filename in the textbox and the contents of the file appear in the listboxes. In the the first listbox the names of the students and their grades appear in the listbox. In the second listbox each of the students last name and their overall grade appear in the listbox. What i need now is a sorting algorithm that will sort the students to appear in descending order so the the student with the highest grade will appear first and the student with the lowest grade will appear last.

View 2 RepliesI am working on a database for a program. I used the .mdf file, created a table, and tried to store data in it.I did not build the program yet. I am still using it on a test drive or debug mode.I added three records to the database.I closed the program for 10 minutes and went back to writing code for it.When I opened up the program again, the database only showed that I had one record.This happened before and after I wrote other code for my program.I only started having the problem today?Is it possible that there is not enough room in the database to store all the records? The variable sizes for 3 of the fields are 400, 500,500, and 1000 and the other fields are like 50 each.All together there are 7 fields. I encountered the error after i had made one of the fields a look up field.In this field, basically I loaded categories stored in an extra files into the comboBox so users can select values without having to retype it.
Can you tell me what the error is and how I can fix it or what I am doing wrong in the program?How do I set up another table and query it to pull the values I want for the comboBox field?

My task is to create buttons to demonstrate how loops work on a form. Two numbers are entered and validated (lower bound and upper bound). They are then to display all the numbers between them in an "odds list box" and an "evens list box" in ascending order. If however, the lower bound number is higher than the upper bound number - they are to be displayed in the list boxes in "descending order". Currently, the table is built and you can check a box to choose whether or not you want to randomize the numbers that correspond to the name. I need to be able to check another box to determine whether or not you want it ascending or descending order. I don't know how to do sorts on a Table Object. Do I have to read it into an Array first and then re-read them into the table?

Create each bar in the bar graph by displaying a row of asterisks (*) in a list box. Each asterisk in a bar represents $100 in sales. I have to make two different versions of this program. One using a "do while ... loop" and the other using a "for ... next loop". Could someone give me a hint on how to do this. I the "do while ... loop" version and I have had some problems, especially with converting the numbers to asterisks.
