I was just reading this project example from my school's folder, and they have a rock paper scissors game.
I saw this within the

My question to you is, where is my resources folder and how can I add images to it so I can access images using code?
I am exporting excel in vb.net but I don't know how will I add picture in it from my Resources folder in my project.

Im making a tic tac toe game in visual basic 2008 express edition. I used picture boxes for the squares. after a box is clicked depending on whose turn it is i use a PictureBox1.Image = System.Drawing.Image.FromFile to call the picture whether it be an X or an O. Both the X and O files are on my desktop.The Games works fine, just as I want it.Now, I want to build the application and run it on other computers. but since the picture files are coded to read from my desktop it wont work on other computers. How do i put the pictures in my resources and read from that so it will work on all computers?

I'm making a project for school with a group of classmates. It is an application that needs to reference quite a few pictures and strings from My.Resources. I don't know what the problem is but, whenever I run the program, I get a message that reads this: "There were several build errors. Would you like to continue and run the last successful build?"

#1) I want to select a folder, that contains say 3 to 10 pictures all of which will have random file names (including some characters like - _ ~ )
#2) I want to resize each photo by 2pixels (both width & height)For right now shrinking it by 2 pixels would be best, i do not want to crop, as it may mess the photo up after a couple of times being run.So if it was 500x500 to start with, when its done, it should be 498x498.
#3) I want to save these newly resized photo's as newly created files.We can either delete the old ones automatically & save the file with the same name. Or simply add a random 1 digit # to the old file name, for the new file name.Either way, I do not want to "save over" the old file.I have never worked with any type of image operation in VB before so I have no idea where to start.

I put 6 pictureboxes in a TableLayoutPanel and have a timer control call the Ahead1 subroutine to load a new picture into the last box after all of the other pictures "move up one box".The problem is that every the timer calls the Ahead1, the program uses about 30MB of RAM and the program eventually ends with an OutOfMemory Error. (Choosing the Picture Folder - only called once)

I'm trying to move a lot of pictures from FOLDER A to another, FOLDER B. However, some of the pictures already exists in the FOLDER B. This stops my program saying it cannot copy the pictures over because they already exist. I'm trying to make it so any pictures from FOLDER A will copy over the pictures in FOLDER B if they are similar in name. Like... Folder A's pictures will just replaced the Folder B pictures if they have the same name. I was told to use the System.IO.File.Copy tool. Here is my code.

I am making a program in vb.net (Vb 2008) but I want to call a dll or add a dll as reference but there's a prob. I don't want to put DLL in same folder of binary like if exe in d:/ so dll will also be in d:/. I want to call it like environ("temp") or from any other which give constant value not in string like ("c:/windows/system32/user32.dll") etc.. Or directory from resources without dropping it out.

How does the exe app know where to look for its Resources folder? In the development folders of my app it is in one place relative to the GetCurrentDirectory, but in a different set of run-time folders, the relative path is different.
Is there a My.Resources property (or some other property) which knows where this folder is? System.IO.Directory.GetCurrentDirectory tells the app where it is, is there a 'System.IO.Directory.GetResourcesDirectory' (except of course I know there isn't)?

With Visual Studio - 2008. I publish to my server. I have problem with the ClickOne, I cant find a way to include my DB connection and resources folder included in my project. It update correctly, but it does not include my resource folder a database connection. Maybe something with the rights to connect to the DB. Can can also see that every time I update my application, it make a new folder but it do not input my folders.

I'm really really rusty/rubbish at this, but I have a series of 11 bitmaps in my resources folder.
I'd like, each time I click a button, a different image loads in sequence into a picture box. How do I do this. I know I've got to some array which loads the images, and a loop to increment through the array, but I can't put it together with the resources folder and the PictureBox control.

I am building a windows application with different languages, when I change the language of a form visual basic will create a new form for me which i can change the settings for my new language and all was working fine, but recently i recognized that the images i am changing in the other language form is changing the images in the default language form, so i need to create two Resources Folders for images and manaully tells the application which folder to use.
