I may or may not have Data for ReturnData and SetValue (one or both at a minimum). I am trying to let the serializer handle most of the formatting without having to check for empty sections and single-item arrays.

Twitter Json - Unable To Convert To Jobject Or Jarray Using Json.net / Javascriptserializer?
May 9, 2012I am been stuck on this for 3 days now...I have been accessing the twitter api to pull a user_timeline for a list of users and the json that comes back is impossible to work with. I tried to deserialize it using javascriptserializer and get an error:invalid object passed in , ':' or '}'
Now this is frustrating since I expect the json being returned to be error free. Then I tried json.net and split the posts using string.split and tried to convert each post to Jobject or jarray. for Jarray I get
'unexpected end of content while loading jArray

Now I have formatted the code here and not pasted the whole file but it does look like valid json to me and I do not alter anything after receiving the stream from the twitter api. Can someone please point me in the right direction? I really need to get this stuff parsed?

I've written a PHP script that returns a simple JSON object that looks like this:

I'm doing a standard web request that submits the required data to the script over the internet and that's working fine.
Now, I want to use JSON.NET to pull out the individual variables so I can know what the values of "status" and "level" are. The problem is, I have no idea where to start.
I'm doing this in VB.NET (on the .NET Compact Framework).

Feb 15, 2011I am accessing the facebook api and using the json.net library (newtonsoft.json.net)I declare a Jobject to parse the content and look for the specific elements and get their values. Everything works fine for the first few but then I get this unexplained nullexception error " (Object reference not set to an instance of an object)Now I took a look at the declaration but cannot see how to change it. The error occurs at the last line above.I check to see if message is null and then look for the next desired field as follows

This is one example where "message" does not appear in the first few lines but appears later. So what I do is look for position of message and description and which ever is first go and get that and if I get an error or the fields do not return anything, I try and parse by regex and even that is not working right.

I only want to serialize very particular properties (basically, only local properties)
I'm aware of the XMLIgnore property that can be placed on a property to ignore items, but this won't work in my context since that would require modifying a bunch of stuff that i really don't want to modify (and probably can't).
So how do i tell the xml serializer to ignore everything except for X and Y or tell it to seralize just X and Y?
i could just create my own xml in a string builder or something and if that's the only way, so be it. however i'm looking for a method that will employ the built in XML stuff.

Sep 4, 2009I need a way to transfer a compiled assembly from client to the server and be able to store that in the database or in a file in such a way that I can grab those bytes on the "to" side and re-load assembly. Is there a way to do it. To clarify, I have a winforms application that will generate code and compile it based on some metadata. Now I need to be able to transfer this to a web site and store it somehow, but I don't want a dll (because it can be de-compiled). I would then have a "server" program on the to side, that would load this in memory. I could just transfer encrypted source code, but I thought I could just transfer compiled assembly.

This is killing performance. Anything more that about 7 or 8 clones brings the app to a halt. Why would this happen? The USING block ought to ensure the MemoryString is disposed of, right? Shouldn't a new MemoryString be created each time? I would think since the same original Mode object is the source for the serialization, the MemoryString length would be the same.

Mar 31, 2009I have an XML document that I am deserializing (VB .NET 3.5 Framework), changing some values, and the serializing again. The original document has several XML Comments in it. When I go through all the deserialize/serialize all of the comments are lost. Is there a way to preserve the comments? If not, is there a way to add comments on serialization without having to walk through with the writer and manually add all of the comments back in the appropriate place?

Oct 30, 2009I have a 3D Engine which renders a 3D World onto any vb.net object with an HWND(Handle) -Picturebox or Form using Direct3D.What I'd like to do is stream that image over my LAN. I know its probably a weird idea, but I have a plan.Since the image is 'rendered' onto the object, the objects 'Image' Property is null, so sending that to a byte array doesn't do any good.Now, I've tried using the picturebox.drawtobitmap function, but it is far to slow for what I'm intending.I've used several functions in the Graphics control to try and get the image data off that picturebox, but to no avail.I've even tried sampling the surface data from Direct3D but none of these objects are able to be converted to a byte array.
