I am developing a windows desktop application and I am using vb.net 2008 Now I have 5 datagridviewcheckboxescoloumns and i want them to behave like radio button.How can i accomplish it. I made lots of search on internet to solve this problem but i couldn't so far. Actually if i had two coloumns it wont be problem i can handle it.

View 3 Repliesi have problem that i know once someone answers, i will kick myself, but here goes. i need to move the text next to the radio button to the left of the radio button, that part is easy just make sure the the "right to left" is maked yes, got it. but, the problem is i am making a seating chart and the seats are labeled 10-a, 10-b etc.... when the right to left is set to yes my text reverses and becomes a-10 and i can't seem to figure out what is set in the properties the is causing the alpha to be placed before the numeric.
View 2 RepliesI am very new to visual basic and I am just learning how to make applications. I need to make an application that deals with carpet sizes. It is supposed to have 3 radio buttons and 3 checkboxes. The correct way it is supposed to work is that you enter a number in the room lenght textbox and a number in the room width texbox. Then it is supposed to calculate the room area in square feet then the carpet required for the room in sq yd and display this in labels. Then using a radio button you select one of 3 grades of carpet with a price per square yard. After this it is supposed to total the amount due for the carpet. Also you can check as many extras as you want which are displayed in checkboxes. When the calculate button is clicked the application is suppsed to calculate all of this at once and display an amount due. I have everything working so far.
I have problems when I get to the code for calculating the amount due. The application only acknowledges when I have one checkbox checked. It doesn't acknowledge if anything else is checked. I also think I should mention that one of the checkboxes is supposed to calculate the installation at $1.50 per sq yd. I can't get that check box to work properly either. I would like to replace the checkboxes on some of my menuitems with radio buttons so they act mutually exclusive of each other like in device manager. I need to create a menu bar (similar to VB6) for my ASP.NET application.
What I don't need is a standard navigation menu bar (plenty of those out there). I'm not redirecting to a different page. What i do need is a menubar that will behave similarly to a VB6 menu, or ASP.NET button control. I have to postback and execute some VB code (depending on what menu item the user selected).

Now my application should invoke the Login button automatically. Means there won't be Pressing ENTER KEY or Mouse Button Etc. User will use a button1.click to open a filedialog to locate the file they needed. after which, the name of the file will appear on a textbox. Button2 is an OK button to write the filename into a txt file. If the box is checked it disables the service if it is unchecked it enables the service.
the code I have so far is this for each service I want turned off i have placed under a button name Apply.Each service is a different registry entry and service name, some are just registry key changes.the code seemed to work at first but that is when I only had one checkbox under the button.

i have button1 whose text is select all ....
i want when button1 text is select all then i clcik on button then all the checkboxes will be checked and button1 text will be unselect all .... if the button text is unselect all then all the checkboxes will be unchecked ..
What I have is approximately 20 checkboxes each one executes the following code below... They do start and stop the service. I also have another 10 checkboxes that make various changes to the registry however there are several issues I am having.....
1. I can set the registry value but I need to get a registry value to see if it is set to 1 or 0 or another number, if that registry value returns as the 0 then the checkbox would be unchecked if the registry if it is set to 1 then the box would be checked (this is an example) however it would be testing for a number condition not a string.
2. The changes happen immediately however if you check a box to stop a service then immediately uncheck it the registry key is changed but the service is not started. What I want to do to resolve this is put an apply button in that would allow multiple variations of checkboxes to be selected, it would show the current state of them and then once changes are made the apply button can be hit it will apply the changes only then and not before then. I also need to have a way where if something is changed and applied the program verifies the service fully started or stopped.
3. I also want to setup several other buttons that will run only predetermined checkboxes
4. I want to be able to also save the checkbox configuration as like a setting that can be loaded in a button called custom.

The problem is that the discount subtracted stacks whenever I choose radio buttons simultaneously. What I want is that my radio button to work like a checkbox. I need the txtPrice to return to its original value when another radio button was selected then subtract the value of the preceding radio button. How to show asp.net validation on button click event if i have 200 checkboxes and some of the checkboxes would be disabled and some are unchecked ... if user doesn't check any of the checkbox then asp.net validation control will display and user will be stay at the same page until they check any of the unchecked checkbox ..
