C# - ASP.NET TextBox - Initialize Text Attribute Within Line Code <% %>?
Jul 26, 2011
I need to initialize the text attribute of the text box element with a property from some where else when actually I can simply do this from code but it will be much more convenient if it possible to do it like this:
<asp:TextBox runat="server" Text="<%= new ContextItem("title").Value %>" />
Unfortunately the above can't be done.. how to make it cleaner then to write it again and again in the code behind?
I'll put some C# code below that should explain what I'm trying to do. I just don't know how to do it in VB. Additionally, for future ref, if you could tell me what this process is called
a user copies multiple lines of text (say, from an email) into the clipboard. Based on my observations, when one tries to paste the text into a single-line textbox, only the first line is actually pasted in. (I am aware that the "obvious" solution would be to set the Multiline property to True, but there are reasons I am looking to avoid this and to put multi-line data into a single line.)
In the TextChanged event handler, I wrote code that parses the clipboard data to successfully convert it to a single-line, comma-delimited format.
Private Sub txtMassTrackingNo_TextChanged(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) _ Handles txtMassTrackingNo.TextChanged
I'm making a HTML Editor. There are uttons in a toolbox they can click and it will add that HTML code. I don't know how to make it add the code to wherever the little falshing line is in the textbox.
The user starts out by pasting text into a textbox:
1.Phototypesetting was superior to automated typesetting because it was
(A)Easier (B)Faster (C)More flexible *(D)All of the above
What I want to do is to tag the sentence and format it as follows: MC Phototypesetting was superior to automated typesetting because it was (A)Easier incorrect (B)Faster incorrect (C)More flexible incorrect (D)All of the above correct Using the following code I can easily replace the number (1) with MC:
But for the life of me I cannot figure out how to tag each choice with correct or incorrect. The correct tag will go to the end of the choice which starts with * eg *(D) All of the above correct, while incorrect should go at the end of all other choices.
how i would actually make the message box appear when the incorrect number is entered and when letters are entered. The message box has to say What is in hte parenthesis in my code and have a textbox to input a correct number
Dim MonthInput As Integer MonthInput = CInt(txtMonthInput.Text) If txtMonthInput.Text < 1 And txtMonthInput.Text > 12 Then
I have a small project which I want to add a different text at the beginning and the ending of each line in a multiline text box.I've tried this, But It only let me to add it at the beginning ( because I don't know the length of each line And also I have to write a code for each line which is very hard because the text box may contains 200 lines Dim lines() As String = TextBox1.Lines lines(0) = lines(0).Insert(0, "Hello World")TextBox1.Lines = lines I want for all lines without having to repeat it again for each line
I'm trying to make it so when you click button1, that it will write a line of text into the textbox1. I want it so if you press it, it appears, but if you press it again, it will appear again on a new line.
I'm currently working on a hw application and i cant seem to figure out how to get the blue scribble line out of all the "text" code. My design has all the same name and all but dont know what its still showing the blue line.[code]
1) Lets say I have three textboxes: TextBox1 TextBox2 and TextBox3.
Public Sub loopthing (ByVal input1, ByVal input2, ByVal input3) For i = 1 To 3 TextBox(i).Text = input(i)[code]....
I know that the (i)-thing will not work, but my question is if it's possible somehow to set the three textboxes text to different variables using only one line of code (Like my attempt above).
2)How can I do so that when I click a tabpage on runtime, a certain textbox is highlighted and ready to write without a mouse-click? I've tried the tabpage's GotFocus- and Enter-events, and writing
TextBox1.Select()
there, but it only works the first time I enter that spesific tabpage.

I am using the given code to copy my database files...it works like a charm in debug mode but as soon as I create a setup, it stops working. The error is
"Database Detach Failed"
I tried checking the code line by line and found that the code does not enter the IF block.I have no idea why.
Public Sub bk() Try Dim strDatabasePath As String = My.Computer.FileSystem.CombinePath(My.Application.Info.DirectoryPath, "LIC.mdf")[code].....
So what happens is. I have this JAVA Code which i am making out of a vb form to help me develop quicker in that. So, when i click "Button1" a formula enhances and gives an output "TEXT" Which i want to choose what lines it shows on my "MultiLine Textbox".
Basically, How do i make it so when i click a BUTTON a text is written in a MULTILINE-TEXTBOX which i get to choose which bits of the text goes on which line.
the example is: ("this goes on line 1") ("this goes on line 2") ect.
I need to work with multiline textboxes. I am currently developing a web application that was started by someone else. The only problem I have is the text in my multiline textboxes is going to the next line before it needs to. I have played around with settings, removed the textboxes and added them back, and I am still having the same problem. When typing in the textboxes, the text moves to the next line after pressing the space bar.
OK, SO i have this program that outputs all the servers on a specific game. It outputs it to a text file. HOWEVER, There is a lot of annoying spaces. This is kind of hard to explain, so ill try to explain it. This is what The text file looks like.
I am trying to read in a TextBox line by line and take the first 7 characters of each line and output everything in another TextBox.This is what I have so far.
Dim line, lines() As String lines = TextBox1.Text.Split(Environment.NewLine) Dim i As Integer = 0
I have a WinForms app with a multi-line textbox. This displays and retains (after loading from the DB) line break characters fine. However if I assign the TextBox.Text value to a string variable and then re-assign the variable back to the TextBox.Text property, the line break characters are lost and replaced with a square character (can't past them here as they just paste as a line break!)
