View 1 RepliesI have been looking all over trying to find a sample to guide me through burning a basic audio or data cd using the windows media player sdk. I have been using the library at msdn as a guide so far but I am stuck at where they tell me to:
"Before you begin burning a CD, you must first call QueryInterface through an IWMPCdrom pointer to retrieve a pointer to the IWMPCdromBurn interface. By using the isAvailable method, you can determine whether a particular CD drive can burn CDs, whether there is a CD in the drive, and how the CD can be used."
I do not see any queryinterface iniwmpcdrom properties and vb.net doesn't support pointers.. so not sure what to do Does anyone have any samples?

I am converting an old Vb6 solution to .net 2.0 in vs2010. I've been working in C# for about 3 years now and .net for 5. I don't recall having this problem in C#, but if I want initialize a readonly collection of DerivedControlFoo Is there a clean way to do it besides creating a sub to do it all off somewhere else? I've created a component whose name I'd like to be able to change while editing in the component tray. I've added a Designer action for a name property, but now I'm stuck.
Looking at the property grid, I can see that the name property is parenthesised, indicating that it's not a regular property.

When they click on the email link, it should load the email xml iformation and place that info in the tb_html.text and navigate. I keep getting a null exception and im not sure what going on here. I've tried WebKit.NET, but it didn't have progress bar support. I also tried xlurunner but it had no printing support. Is there another web browser component that has both printing support and progressbar support? I shouldn't have to omit features from my browser just to get a better rendering engine.

View 2 RepliesI'm making some archeology, dealing with COM+I managed to enlist a simple COM dll as a COM+ component, so far so good.So I've got this 'foobar' com+ component, with it's interface, and the method I'd like to call.My question is then rally simple: how am I supposed to make a call to this component?.NET or VB6 answer is accepted (I have to check the component is OK, don't care about the client)
Edit (06/03/09): Well, I'm confused. so as to work properly, my COM+ component needs it's dll to be registered. Why not? But then, how to be sure I'm making a COM+ call, and not a COM one?

Have you any links or ideas, or experiences, what is to be done to class derived from System.ComponentModel.Component, in order to show its rectangle in designed form or control. View 7 RepliesI didnt know if this was the correct location to post this kind of question. My code is in C# however I am using the visualBasic. Interaction. CreateObject to connect to a OCX file. I notice that this works great for a while but if it continues to do its job for lets say a few days then I get and exception... "Can not create an ActiveX component." I am 100% sure that the ocx and dlls are registed correctly to the system.

View 1 RepliesI am developing a VB2008 application that makes use of the Office Access runtime.I started development on Win7 64-bit & Visa 32-bit machines.The application runs just fine on the machines with VB2008 installed.I have used a number of tools to build the application installation and I am running into the same thing on all target test machines (currently XP Pro).The system fails when the Office Access portion of the code starts to run.Below is the Just-In-Time debug info.
I also notice that .NET 2 is being called.Is it wise to make .Net3x the preferred .Net client?In the application, I have specificed .Net3 (however, it does not look like it is being called).The target test machine (XP Pro) has .Net 2.3 and 4 installed.See the end of this message for details on invoking

I have a large project which consists of about 60 modules. It contains a lot of DataGridView components.
Recently I implemented cut-copy-paste functionality to one of the DataGridViews.
What is the best way to add same functionalities to all the other DataGridViews .
P.S. I don't want to create a new component which inherits DataGridView and re-define all the DataGridViews.
