Is there a way of using some system online to calculate the distance in miles between to given postcodes? I need it to calculate in my vb.net web application a taxi fair estimation. So in some instances a more precise distance is require. Although not in all as it will specialise in long distances.

i am trying to create a small program that will calculate the miles between to postcodes.The way im doing this is to fill out a webform for each postcode and collect the returned Long/Lat values (i will then calculate the miles from that)
This all works well until my program freezes with no error message. It's after the same number of records as well and I don't know why.[code...]
assuming i have an isoceles triangle, where i know the height + base width, how
can i calculate the width of that triangle at 1/3 of the distance from the point + 2/3 of the distance from the point?
i thought it'd be simply 1/3 base width + 2/3 base width, but my drawing is +/- a few pixels when i resize it?

I have a textbox that is used to input the value to convert followed by a space and the units (i.e., 56 km) and a second textbox where the user types what unit they want to convert to (i.e., cm). When converting, the output will be displayed in the second textbox. (I know this is complicated, but this is the way it is to be done). so if i say want to cruise 29 miles at 12 knts it gives me an awnser of 2 hours 24.6 mins instead of 2 hours 25. Although i do realise that 2 hrs 24.6 is technicaly right i was wondering if anyone here could help me with getting it into the correct format?
I am trying to calculate the number of years for my calculate age event handler, however i am apparently missing a method or whatnot because im trying to calculate the age , can anyone suggest help on this. I need to subtract years to get my age but when i try the birthdate.Subtract (currentDate) method i get an error about not able to convert from LONG?

Since I don't use VS2010, I can't use the SDK which I'm sure does some nice things, however I can use the REST service and, with an API key from Bing, I'm able to get what I want.I'll just show some screenshots and if anyone is interested, I'll put the code and full explanation together.I also have a splitter container such that the Results group is in the upper container pane and the Map group is in the lower one:When the user adjusts the splitter (or the form, if it moves the splitter vertically), then after a one second delay, it will refresh the information. View 2 RepliesI'm using Visual Basic 2006 and i'm a newbie so excuse me if my question is not complete. I basically have a picturebox, in which i am displaying an image from a webcam. Now the user clicks on two points on the image and i need to get the distance between the two points in terms of the number of pixels. I did think of and try the pythagorean theorem, but i'm confused as to what units the answer turns out in. Is it in terms of inches? or pixels? Do i need to set the Scale Mode propety to pixels to get it in pixels? And if so, is there a way to get the number of pixels per inch? Sorry for asking so many questions but i've been reading other forums and i'm confused!
