Oct 22, 2010i found that sometimes i do not get any replies in my thread.
well that's normal. but the weird thing is.
sometimes when i check back in a days after that. it still has no replies. so i didn't think much until suddenly a few minutes later i had more than 3 replies. so happy i was.
i checked it and the replies were maybe a few hours after i posted my thread. and some were a few hours ago! i don't know if something is wrong with me or the computer.
How To Track And Store Email Replies
Aug 25, 2010Currently on our system, when a user contacts us, we reply via our admin panel. The user is then sent an email containing our message and the other messages in the conversation. Then the user has to click on 'Reply to this message' which opens up our website, with a contact inquiry form, and submits the message to the conversation (using a QueryString to tell which conversation it belongs to). However, a lot of users like to simply reply to the email sent to them. How can I track their reply and automatically add this to the same conversation? We're currently using ASP.NET 3.5, IIS6 & SQL Server 2005, however will be upgrading to ASP.NET 4.0, IIS7 & SQL Server 2008.

Jan 3, 2009Need help removing a copy of my program shown on the Task Manager after I close.
I must kill a conflicting program that cannot share the COM port and then reinstate when myprogram ends. To reinstate I use: System.Diagnostics.Process.Start(conflictingPath & conflictingProgram)
In the last line of my Form1.Closed I try to end all with:System.Windows.Forms.Application.Exit()
Not working - each time I run this program it does kill the conflicting program, can do its dialing function and upon closing reinstates the conflicting program. But each time another copy shows under Task Manager.

I have an array named COURSE_Topics. This array contains topic codes as string elements.Currently, my table adapter query looks like this:

At the end of that query i need to add a WHERE [Topic Code] = - then list of topic codes in the array.

Jan 16, 2009I'm currently in the process of building a text editor type program, and have run into a brick wall. I haven't done VB in years, so I may just need a little reminder on some things. I have coded everything so far as far as opening files, saving them, changing fonts, colors, etc. However, I'm looking to add a Close button to my menu strip that will just close the currently opened file, and not the entire program, while also ask the user if he/she would like to save before closing the file, and then if they select yes, it will show the save dialog, and if not, it will go ahead and close the currently opened item.

Is there any way to open a CHM to a specific topic by name?
I created a wrapper for DocTools, so I could have the command line piped to a text box and then I could obtain the Topics from there and save them in an INI file that I read when I call the help, but I don't know how to pipe the command line to a textbox.

Feb 26, 2009Alright, so I'm still working on the slot machine. I have three timers all independently going for my three "wheels" of the slot machine.
My issue, is that I'm trying to make a Stop button to stop each timer one at a time, and I'm not understanding why this code isn't working. The logic completely makes sense, and the first "wheel" stops when I click the button, however, it doesnt appear to stop the other two timers.

VS 2010 : Use A Stop Button To Stop A Loop?
Dec 7, 2009I created a form and have the variable inputs for 4 motor run statements. Then with a start button the script starts and it is surrounded by a for next statement to loop 10 times. It works fine but if i need to stop the execution of the script with a stop button. I put the stop in a new section but of course does not work to do a motor stop. It just causes the exe to not respond till the loop is complete. Just need to be able to stop the Run1_Click button section.
Edit:I do not mind if it finishes the 4 motor run commands and then stops execution of the loop. So need to figure out a way to trigger a stop from a button on the form to stop the cycle. For the future the loop will be a variable integer input so 10 will not be the standard.
Edit::Does a ' Do ' statement sound like the thing to use? If so how and where would I place that? Have a Stop button on the form and it would stop after the 4th motor run command.

Mar 4, 2011In a program I'm working on, I want a "Loading..." dialog to close when it can't log in to a site using the username and password provided by the user. Basically, I have the code set up right because the function it is supposed to carry out when that occurs does work, but for some reason it ends up in some really weird stuff happening. In the Loading form, I have it set to do "Form1.Show()" and then "Me.Close()", assuming it would simply show the login form and then close the Loading form. However, when this happens, the Loading form closes, and then for only an instant Form1 shows, and then the Loading form shows and Form1 closes. This happens forever until I stop the debugging, and I can't seem to figure out why. Am I using the wrong method? What exactly does Me.Close() do anyways? All I want to do is close the form and open another
