Back End - SQL Server 2008 R2 Express (FILESTREAM enabled to level 3)
I wanted to store the files (*.pdf, *.doc, *.exe, .) using the FILESTREAM feature in SQL Server 2008 R2.I prefer FILESTREAM because sometimes the file size exceeds 2GB.I'm able to save and retrieve file with FILESTREAM (using Windows Authentication/Integrated Security).But my client wants to save or retrieve the file from different PC.So I'm in need of accessing the FILESTREAM BLOB from remote systems.

Jun 22, 2011I have to develop a small application that will connect to a Linux server (scp on port 22), upload a file, and then execute the file. The first thing that came to mind was to call WinSCP from my app, but the initial connection will always prompt to accept the hostkey. When calling WinSCP from the commandline you can press a key to copy the hostkey to the clipboard, and then you can use it with the -hostkey switch to connect. Any thoughts on how I might do this in VB? It would have to look like this:
Attempt to connect via WinSCP
Copy hostkey to clipboard when prompted
Attempt to connect again using hostkey
I'm just not sure about #2. I would have to send a keystroke for the letter 'C' which causes the hostkey to be copied to the clipboard.

My programmer tells me that:he cannot connect to the MySQL database via LINQ if he was able to connect then it would require all sorts of rewriting I don't know anything about LINQ but I thought it was an ORM. As such, any DB server that is supported should work just fine? Right? OK, so maybe it's not an ORM... maybe it should generically connect to ODBC and render similar results?

Application Can't Connect To Local MySQL But Can Connect From Command
Sep 30, 2011We have a VB.Net application which works fine in our tests in different Windows XP SP3 machines. However there is one machine in which is displaying this error:
Unable to connect to any of the specified MySQL hosts
Using the mysql command, we can successfully connect to the database. We already checked for any other application or firewall that could be blocking the connection but it seems fine. We also reinstalled the system (no errors during the installation) but the MySQL error message doesn't change.
The system settings are exactly the same as in the other computers. We are using "localhost" as server in the connection string. The "hosts" file has its default values (nothing strange in there).

We have an xml file(installstatus.xml) where it tells us at what stage the installation is (Example : Inprogress , Completed, Failed.)
So our aim is to develop a windows application where i can get connected to that servers and look for their installation status(may be we can use installstatus.xml to look for installation status). Every time i connect to a server, the server information should get stored in XML file(i want to create a xml file where all the servers list i connect to should get stored)
The UI at left side should will have list of servers i can connect to. When i get connected to server, at right side of UI, i want to display the status of installation (In progress, failed , completed).

May 11, 2012Scenario: I want to develop an application.The application should be able to connect to my remote server and download data to the local disk , while downloading it should check for new files and only download the new ones simultaneously creating the required(new) folders. What am i doing?: The app first checks for internet connection , if available pings the server to check if the server is active.Then it has to download the new files.
Problem: I have no idea how to compare the files in the server with the ones in the local disk.How to download only the new files from the server to the local disk? What am thinking?: If i can create the exact folder structure(hierarchy) in the local disk as it is in the server...than i can download the new files accordingly to folders by maintaining some index file in both server and local disk.
