Is there any way to change the installion of a click once app to the program files location so that it will be availabe to all users? Right now it is burying the location of the files within the user folder.
View 2 RepliesI would love some help on how to get a DataGridView's Row & Column location on a mouse double click. My program requires that I dynamically add n-number of tabpages with DGV's so I declare my own class that inherits TabPages and creates its own DGV control.
For the code below I use a simple form (form1), add a tabcontrol via the forms designer (tabcontrol1) to it and remove the two default tabpages keeping the basic tabcontrol.

I want to create personal folders during installation. I did the following steps:
Right click on your setup project ->
View -> File System
Right click on node "File system on

I know the above steps are correct and should work because i did it in the other application (solution) and worked fine. When i did same exact steps (of course i changed the folder name to be created), the application gets deployed but when i install, i don't get the Personal Folder under Documents? I wonder why did it work with my first solution and didn't work with the current one!
I'm a beginner. I recently developed an application in C#. Now I wanna develop its setup. I read a few articles online, followed them, found it very easy. I also changed the default location of application folder from C:Program Files to C:. My application folder is containing a few folders besides exe and dlls which I added manually.
Now here the problem starts, when I install the application and change the location say from c: to d:, my files (all files including exe and dll) are going to user's given location. But my folders (all folders in application folder) are going to c: (which is default location given while creating setup). But I want output files and that folders at same location

Iam changing the installation directory because when the application is installed in program files, my database can't add and edit record. having an error something like "operation must need an updateable query" because of that error i tried to install the appl in documents and there n error i'd encountered like when I install it to the program files folder.
In my setup and deployment project, I have made all the directories I needed. The problem I have is: With the registry keys, how do I enter the value field with a wildcard for the location to the new installation. Now I have managed to be able to copy the contents, into a folder using the code between "With" and the first instance of "Msgbox" with some alterations. I have also, with this current code been able to create the folder with it's name into the specified location, however the contents are not moved as well and I get a empty folder.

I'm trying to public a VB program and I want to install the program from the same directory I am publishing it to which is a file path of the form P:DirDir. This doesn't seem to be working... In the publishing folder text box I have a file path but it won't allow me to put that same file path in the installation folder text box... and it has brackets (if different than above) over the installation folder text box so that should mean it is not a required text box.. but when I go to publish now it asks for me to put a path in there.
View 6 RepliesI have developed a WinForm app using vb.net. The app needs to send an email notification to users containg the id of an item that needs thier attention. The email needs to contain the link and commandline parameters so that the user can clik on the link and the app will open the correct form, with the item to be updated, already loaded. Click Once installs the app under the users directory ("Documents nd setting\%USERNAME%Start MenuPrograms\%AppName%..."), so, the email has to contain the user name as part of the path.
- How can click once be configured so that the instalation is in the program files directory to avoid having to add the username as path of the path?
- how do send a link which contains a parameter that directs the app to load a speciified form (not the startup form)?
Where is the location of ClickOnce Installation and what are the restrictions of ClickOnce Deployment?

at I do not know the number of or the names of the folders, they can be different in different cases, I only have the root path.how I can display folder contents in VB.net and the code worked but couldn't figure out how to create the arrays and display only folders within folders starting with "ad_".

I'm hoping someone can help me here. I've been having trouble positioning a Contextmenu when a user right clicks a specific column within a Datagridview.
The Contextmenu is just a list of names and whatever name is selected then populates the 'Right-Clicked' Cell. My problem is the Contextmenu appears in the top left of the screen. I would like it to appear where the user 'Right-Clicked'

I'm a newbie and it's taken me a while to get it to work this far. I did originally assign a Contextmenu to the Datagridview Column, and it appears very neatly where the user 'Right-Clicked'
Unfortunately doing it this way I couldn't populate the Cell. So decided to use the method that I have posted above.
I need to know how to get the position of the mouse within a picturebox just as you would with e.location, but you can't use e.location with a picturebox and you also can't use Picturebox.Mouseposition which is very unfortunate.

Dev/Usr Environment info: I am using VB Express '08 and SQL Express '05 for my applications in a corporate networking environment and the users will be installing from a network share drive. I have tested this and it works fine, just the location seems to be undesirable.

Is there an easy way to get the nearest control to a control of choice? I have a picture box and some other moving controls. I want to delete the nearest control to my picture box. So I have to get the position of all controls and delete that with the Location nearest to the Location of my picture box. I'm not sure about how to do that the best way.
