I am using Excel 2003 and I am wanting to create a simple macro in order to run a for loop and then have the information output the numbers to cells.

I have this code that works. it goes down a range and deletes the empty rows, seperates the first character into a different column if its not a number or negative sign.This code WORKS. but it is too SLOW for the amount of data i need it to deal with. I have already turned off automatic calculations. screen updating.and visibility of application.

There is however a counter in the windows registry which can simply be set back to zero. I was wondering if i could create a macro that would load on windows startup that would reset the counter automatically in the registry whenever it got past say 75.

View 2 RepliesI have an extremely simple for loop listed here and I've been getting incredibly whacky results. Right now I'm getting a System.OutOfMemory Exception. When it did run, I was getting results like this, "1, 100, 0, 200, 0, 200, 100, 1, 300, 100", where it continues for the whole loop. It doesn't matter if I do this or do a for each loop with an instance of what I'm counting, like a DataGridViewRow when I'm iterating through it's rows. I can't figure out what is wrong. I've went to a completely different computer with a completely different installation of Visual Studio (fresh install) and it still doesn't fix the problem. Now I'm getting that out of memory exception.It's a basic Windows forms app with two datagridview controls. A DataSet that has two tables loaded by table adapters. I'm have a program (GUI) that interfaces with excel to execute macros. We're using Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel to call/run the macros and this works great.What I can't figure out is a good way to cancel the macros from the GUI.One idea we had was to use the excel.application variable that runs the macros to write a "stop" value to a specific cell in the workbook, and in the macros (they are all mostly loops), check for the "stop" value in that cell. This crashes my GUI with this The program '[2188] BVLReports.vshost.exe: Managed' has exited with code -336589910 (0xebf00baa).And excel gets tied up, and won't respond. I know how to Exit Sub from within the macro if the "stop" value exists, so I don't need answers on how to check/cancel from inside the macro. Any ideas on a better way to write this "stop" value or a better way to cancel the macros externally?

I am trying to create a macro to enter data in a label printing application for hundreds of labels- I use an external third party software that's not very user friendly. It has several fields that accept text. The problem is, manually entering the data and clicking "print" each time is very time consuming. I generate by random 2 number A&B I multiply them and I will compare it with the result in my textbox3

I am currently painting a light blue, partly transparent overlay over owner-drawn objects to indicate certain state. It's OK but I thought that it would be even nicer if I could at some sort of glass effect to further establish the idea that the particular object has "something" overlaid over the top of it.
I thought that some glass streaks, for example, in addition to the blue transparency would lend a nice effect.I've Googled around for GDI+ (and others) algorithms to do simple things painting like this but have come up empty. I prefer .NET but can figure out the painting from pseudo-code on up.
Sorry, shoul've also specified that I need to target WinXP and using .NET version 2.0 - So unable to use WPF or Vista/Win7 goodies.

I wanted to create a simple application which has 2 forms.the first one contains a combobox which has the list of names of reports.now i select this report and click on next which takes me to the 2nd form.there i have to enter 4 values(or parameters)like the date from and date to and other 2 values...using these 5 values i want to retrieve the respective reports from the archive folder based on these parameters...i just know how to select and move to the second form from the first..how do i achieve my goal of retrieving the pdf files.i want the result in a table form which will have column names of the parameters i pass and the last column with the report pdfs.
