Create A Timetable In VB Which Allows Users To Enter New Timetable Entries, Load Timetable, Save

First of all my task is to create a timetable in VB which allows users to enter new timetable entries, load timetable, save etc. They way I have set this out is with a text display window and drop down menus with "File>New>Timetable" and "Load>timetable" etc. I am confused as the how the serialization works?
I have attached my code in notepad. My code is telling VB to pull the XML file called timetable.xml, but I havnt created this file ... how is this file created?

I'm new in VB.net but I'm trying to make application (planning-game). The game is about showing students the planning 'complexity' of a operation room in a hospital. I created a listbox which randomly shows 5 operations. But now I would like a function which makes it possible to add a selected operation to a timetable. The timetable has blocks of 30 mins (example 08:00 - 08:30, 08:30 - 09:00 etc..). This because 1 type operation takes 1 hours and 1 takes 1:30 hours. Now I have given the operations a value by using a label. [code]

I have to do the project using VB in Visual Studio, and i have to create a timetable with the control TableLayoutPanel (with columns from Monday to Saturday and rows from 9AM to 10PM) and with that a have also to create labels, outside the TableLayoutPanel, with the names of the disciplins and then using the Drag-and-Drop, i drag the labels i want to the TableLayoutPanel and drop them anywhere i want, for example, drop a label in the column Thursday and row 2PM (Thursday at 2PM)

am trying trying to write some code for a ComboBox that does the following:
1. Allow the user to enter text into the combo box to type entries contained in the list source.
2. Enable autocomplete to assist the user in selecting entries in the list source, both from dropped down state and non dropped down state.
3. Restrict the user from typing an entry that doesn't exist in the list source.
My requirements are:
1. The ComboBox must run some code after a selection has been made or the user has finished typing an entry (not after the focus has been moved to another control)
2. The code must only run once after the user has made a selection from the combobox or has finished typing an entry
The problem: To achieve the above functionality, I had to run code on numerous event's. Sureley there is a better way, here are the events and the reason for the code:
SelectedIndexChanged:This is the code that is run when the user makes a selection. No Mystery here

I need to create an XML doc that I can call up and populate a treeview with. Can someone show me that basics on doing this. A simple example will suffice. Note I am not using XML-speak for any of this description. Assume I have some unknown number of Types (Parent Nodes). Each Type has a possible of Three Groups (children to Type nodes). Each Group has an unknown number of randomly names Cases (children to Type nodes). I want to create this XML file, save to a directory and the open again later to load into a treeView control.

My form's KeyPreview is set to True. I want to allow my users to use the Enter Key instead of just the Tab key. I have the following code in my form's KeyPress event:

I have a program with two forms, one that handles the applications controls, and the other with the functions that open a file (csv), open a database, and query the database. The controls on the first form are a list box, three labels (to display parsed csv information), and three buttons (clear database, load database from csv, and load listbox).
The clear database and load database buttons (events) seem to function correctly.On the other hand, the load list box event doesn't function 100% the way I'd want. [And, I can't test the selected index event yet]

When I originally set up my project I 'hard-coded' my username and password in so that I could access a remote DB2 database. Now that I need to publish it to other users they need to be prompted for their own usernames and passwords. I've gone to "My Project/Settings" and deleted the items from the string - but when I run I get the following message on the statement:

I have 7 textbox entries and I would like to add them to a listbox and when I close my application it would save them, I have the code for the 7 texboxes and everything like that has been done, but I just dont know how to add multiple textboxs to a listbox then save the list box so when I close the application and reopen it, itll still be there. I know I need a button to add the list to the listbox, but how do I save them, so theyll still be there?

I have two masked text boxes that holds Phone Numbers and Zip Codes.Since they are Masked text boxes and are set not to allow characters or letters, the user must enter numbers.However, how do I add a message telling the user to enter number and zip code since there is no prompt?I don't need to validate the numbers just to add an error message if it's left empty.

I have a program where you have three entries, CD name, artist, price and it goes into a listbox and .txt file when closing. I have to have a message box if you enter the same CD name. I have a code to open the .txt file and compare strings but I need to change it to compare only the CD name and not all three entries. Is there a way to do my string compare against my listbox without opening the .txt file?? The program loads the listbox from the .txt file when opening. I have a program that allows the user to choose from 100's of .rtf files and .loadfile them into an rtb. When I build and then deploy the program (version1.0) how are the files that pre-exist on my drive end up available on the users drive to be able to load them from the specified directory? Do I need to make the .rtf files a resource? Or is this process simply "done" when user installs app? By the way, I am using Visual Studio 2008 (Visual Basic).

I want to set a certain column to true or false automatically based on what value another column has entered. I managed to get this working by myself using the 'SQL Pane' in VB and testing it by using execute sql but I don't know what to do now. I assumed that I could just save it and it would work from there but that's not the case, it dissapears from the SQL Pane if I close the project (even though it worked fine when I ran the project the first time), so where do I put it/what do I do with it in order to get this to work?
