However this just gets the entire picture not just a portion of it, I would like to do something like this where I can specify the starting and stoping points

View 1 Repliesi wanted to create a random number generator that iterates through a series of number between an upper and lower bound. say between 1 and 100. Basically I want the number generator to pick the numbers randomly and then display them until all 100 numbers are picked without any duplicates. so thats easy I can code that. But what I don't know is how to show those numbers in the order they are generated on a windows form. So i have basically a variable that I will let be changed 100 times (or however many times I want, I don't want their to be a size constraint just using 100 as an example) and each time the number is generated I want it displayed on screen (in a list or something not sure what. Hopefully some type of scrollable list) and each successive number also to be displayed in same format beneath it so that I can see the list in its entirety. What type of form control do i use for that? I could do messagebox.show for each iteration but then user is required to hit ok after each iteration and that would obviously be a bad idea if user selected a large number to work through. Anyways, code isn't exactly necessary just point me in the right direction, i.e.what control (if any) to use.how to format the change in data?

I have two books about design patterns (GoF and J.Bishop) afair this pattern is indeed not mentioned inside one of the two books. I have also searched the internet I found some java-examples. But I have still no clue how I should use MVC-Pattern (should I?) in my new WPF-application.Let's say for example my model (in fact it is more complex) is only a wheel rim (circle) with the properties Manufacturer, Diameter and Depth. The user should be able to modify the properties using textboxes and ComboBoxes.Could somebody create a small example that explaines the MVC-Pattern with WPF?Of course I like reusable classes to have a feasible concept throughout the whole application.

The user should be able enter a value into the text box, and select multiple items from both CheckedListBoxes, when they click the submit button the details will be added to a DataGridView below.
This is an example,The user enters the value Audi A4 into the textbox.
The First Checked Lsit Box is called "Colour" and from the options the user checks 'Red' and 'Blue'.
The second Checked List Box is called "Number of Doors" and from the options the user checks '3' and '5'.
When the User clicks the submit button 4 rows will be added to the DataGridView with all the different combinations, as shown below:

View 1 RepliesI am a beginner on Visual Basic but was able to create the 'skeleton' of the application I need to build. Basically, it is an application dedicated to keeping a check on the vinyl I have. When I buy a new record, I want to effectively 'Add New Record' on Visual Basic and be greeted with a page consisting of various forms such as 'Artist' and Title'. Once these are filled in, I want to click 'Enter' and for all that information to be converted to one of the pages within my application.
Here's an easier look at it...
There are LPs that have 10" and 12" sections.
There are singles that have 7" and 12" sections.
In the 'Add New Record' page I want to also have a drop down list with the above elements in, once 12" LP is selected and all the other forms are filled in and I click 'Enter' - I want the application to send it to the 12" LP section of the application.

I have an application that searches in a database for some information.Since the database is quite big, it sometimes takes a lot of time before the application returns the results to the interface.
I want to add some sort of spinning wheel to inform the user that the application is still searching the database and did not freeze. Once the results are returned, the wheel should disappear.
Any idea how to do this or is there a good tutorial explaining how to do this?
I am really exhausted because I have been trying to find a way to draw 3D sphere which is spinning and have done nothing yet.. I am using visual basic studio. Part of my project is to draw solar system which includes a star and planets rounding about it and their stem. I have really try to find something in the network but do nothing at all. First, I have read about XNA, but the tutorials seems to be quite complicated - after all, XNA is used for creating games, I need something more simple. I decided to use the directx libraries, read a lot about them but succeed only in draw rectangle (2D).
I have 5 proxies, 2 of them are standard and 3 of them requires a username and password.
